The M18 3-1/4 in. Planer delivers unmatched depth control and powerful stock removal for quick and precise material removal on soft or hard woods. The Planer’s powerful motor allows the user to remove up to 5/64 in. in a single pass for increased productivity. The depth adjustment knob’s 20 locking positions allows for multiple depth settings and precise depth control. In addition the depth adjustment knob does not rotate past the 0 or 5/64 setting which allows users to quickly identify at what depth they are cutting without needing to re-zero the dial. The M18 Planer also provides up to a 27/64 in. rabbet cut capacity offering users more depth of cut when making shiplap joints. A left or right chip ejection feature allows users to aim shavings away from their eyes or finished surfaces; increasing safety, productivity and accuracy.

has lots of power and cuts aggressively. dust will blow in your eyes unless you remember to move the switch.. it makes a horrific amount of saw dust in a very short amount of time. wish you could slow it down just a bit.

I was going to buy a corded planner because I don’t use this type of tool often and couldn’t justify the added expense but after purchasing the tool only model and using existing batteries, I am extactic over the difference. A feature that is not explained in details is the quick stop of the blades and that it in fact does come with the edge guide.I couldn’t be more please with this puchase and paying more for a great quality tool. There will be no remorse in spending the bucks and having a long lasting and fun to use tool.

I bought this about a month ago. Never had a hand version before. Best part is I do have a lot of M18 batteries, so I could buy the tool only and save the money from the extra batteries and charger I don’t need. It would be nice to have the case, but I have so many tools already, do I need another case? The tool seems slightly heavy at first, but after using it for a while, I forgot about the weight. Nice easy depth of cut adjustment and it goes pretty deep if you want it to. Blade replacement is fairly simple too. When working in the shop it’s nice to have the option for dust collection hose too as it can get messy real fast without it.

I got this m18 planer to skim cut the doors in my house for easier opening and closing. This powerful planer made quick work of the doors, as expected. Adjustments are very fine, and easily made by the knob. Guard is easy to adjust. Vacuum suction port is directional/selectable to whichever side you want. Highly recommended to contractors or advanced home owners for quick adjustments on woodworking and fitting. Beats hours with a sanding block/paper. Time is money.

Just thickness planed 32′ of 2×12 used the cordless planer for edge planing and it left a nice edge in just a few passes…gouged end grain by not lifting at end pass but have done that with my corded. This seemed faster. Fyi at 0. Some material still removed not much but not 0. I not going to carry this all the time as its more of a specialty tool, should be handy on doors and moldings fast and smooth and no cord. I would recommend this to someone with milwaukee tools replacing a corded planer

Great quality all the accessories are high precision pieces too. Had to find the dust bag at a different vendor as HD doesn’t have it but the chip exit on either side is a big plus. The cuts left a perfect finish.
