I found this to be a well made shear. As with other Milwaukee tools, build quality is excellent and it just feels solid. Cuts are very clean, and it easily goes through 18ga cold rolled. On 20ga I was able to do about a 4 inch radius curve. This is a double cut, which is the type you want if you need distortion-free cuts. You will end up with a thin (about 3/16″) strip of waste, but the edges of the cut stay perfectly flat, and you don’t have to file or deburr anything. For finish work, artwork, etc. it is really nice. It’s easy to maneuver, and it pretty much goes where you point it. The head can be rotated all the way around, and it locks in place at 30 degree increments (12 positions) with a positive-locking mechanism (thumb lever).With the battery attached, it has a good balance, not too nose heavy. It’s a bit heavier than a pneumatic tool, but of course being cordless, it has that advantage.Battery life seems to be good, I did about 40 feet of 20ga and still had 3/4 charge. The blade can be resharpened easily by just flat grinding the top. And it disassembles easily if you have to replace it.I like that this comes with a bag and not a hard case. I’ve always liked the Milwaukee bags, they’re super durable and just the right size, plus they look cool.

I love the fact that this shear is ergonomically designed. When cutting sheet metal, the shear feels like an extension of your arm. You just point the shear in the direction of the cut and watch it effortlessly slice through the steel. The head has a full 360 degree rotation! You can angle the head to any position you like, making working in tight spaces a breeze. Where you might have needed to use hand shears to finish an intricate cut, this tool can now do this itself. A real time and labor saver.The shear comes with two 3 amp-hour batteries, a charger, and a heavy duty canvas bag . The charger not only charges the M18 batteries, but also has a slot to charge one of the M12 series of batteries found in other Milwaukee tools too.I found the shear extremely easy to use, and the ergonomics made for more precise cuts due to the fact I could see more of my work area. The ergonomic style also reduced fatigue from extended use.This is a great addition to my metalworking shop.
