Tool is handy and the variety of other tools offered by Milwaukee is a big plus.On this tool the detent pin is flimsy and usually gets jammed or breaks quickly. In hindsight i would recommend the friction ring unit instead.Needs to come with some spare detent pin kits.

I own a very busy mobile mechanics business, cordless tools are a life saver. I purchased this one after reading all the reviews and researching different brands. I have used cheaper ones (Ryobi and Craftsman) and have been very disappointed, I have used the Snap-On one, and was impressed but didn’t like the battery life. I decided to purchase this one, it has not yet let me down! I haven’t drained the battery in a single day yet! Takes off the rustiest, worst lugnuts such as old 4wd Rangers and beat-up AstroVans to name a few. Works on crank bolts and cam bolts without stuttering. If you are thinking about buying it, do it! Worth every penny, and it paid for itself within the first week.

I just got this tool “bare tool” no battery I was planning to use it with my M18 compact batteries but I have read that it needs the M18 high capacity XC battery well I tried it with the compact battery I had on hand it seems to work fine maybe it does not have the maximum power or will run the battery down faster but it removed a lug bolt from one of my large tractors with little effort all the lights were still on on the battery afterwards and as for the pin detent I can seewhere this might slow you down a little but so does lookingfor sockets that have been slung off my impact wrenchesand lost in combines or in the dirt you can always usea short extension on the wrench that you can change sockets on fast.

I’m a Diesel tech by trade, so this particular tool is very necessary when working on big equipment. I was leary at first. I wasn’t sure about battery versus air. No concerns necessary. This gun will deliver the needed torque everytime. The batteries have a handy charge-indicator button so you are aware of battery life. The only suggestion I have is to get the friction fit model. The detent can be annoying and difficult to use, but it certainly does provide a secure fit for the socket.

This could be the tool of the year, except for the pin detent. We use the impact to install thousands of 5/8″ anchor bolt nuts. It has plenty of torque. A little too heavy for anything above your head. It’s a must have tool, however the pin detent is now completely broken after only 6 months of use.

Most of the used auto parts places (junk yards) have gone to find it and remove it yourself, and trying to remove rusted bolts on cars sitting outside for years is not easy. I was at one such place when I saw this guy removing parts at an incredible pace, so I asked how he was doing it. and he showed me his impact. Now I own one too. I have yet to find the bolt this thing will not remove. It even removes susspension nuts. Plus, two fully charged batteries will last all day. Sometimes the socket can be difficult to remove but if you line up the hole with the pin you can use a small tool to push in the pin or a screwdriver to pry it off.

This is the baddest impact gun I’ve ever used. It’s extremely powerful, and heavy yet nicely balanced. I use it for working on my car, specifically taking wheels on and off a lot (I do some weekend racing). 450 foot pounds of power has never let me down taking off lugs as well as most other fasteners on the car. Use it and feel manly! I worked on my wife’s car a few weeks ago, and not only did the job get done, she told me she loved a dirty man using his tools.

Very impress on power, battery life and super easy to use. 2 batteries, charger, wrench and a well made case. 5 years warranty, got to love that too. Like other reviewers say on here and other sites ” buy it, you’ll love this Impact wrench”

I should have bought this thing a long time ago! I own a professional automotive shop. This impact is a great deal at a great price. It has plenty of torque to loosed even the most rusty, stubborn lug nuts. It is perfect for those times you need to take a wheel off in the parking lot so there is no need to drag an air hose out. Plus, its a pleasure to not hear the air compressor kick on all the time! A must have for the professional or the DIY’er!

I work full time in a mechanical workshop dismantling 4x4s and comercial vehicles. This gun does everything I ask with relative ease. A number of co-workers have a competitors cordless gun, and now most of them want to replace them with this one. More power, more compact, better balance, and a hell of a lot cheaper! The pin detent takes a little getting use to, but much better than the options. The red lithium batteries last longer than any others as well.I am already recomending this impact wrench to others I know and everyone is impressed.I have used a few competitors guns and believe this to be the best on the market at the moment.

So far so good a little heavy but good power. It would be nice if they gave a case. And replacement batteries at 119.00 a pop.

I have had Milwaukee since 1971 and everyone is great. This is the second impact but the first was NiCad. This one is stronger, harder hitting and lasts a lot longer in the field. Makes lug nuts a snap to take off. Great out in the barn for working on the equipment and in the field. Hands down, the best I’ve ever had. Lithium endurance was the sell and the impact improvement is great. Get it and don’t even worry about looking back. Built for hard workers. Thank you Milwaukee workers for a great product.

This is my second Milwaukee cordless power tool, and I am a fan for life. My first is a M12 hammer drill, now this. I work with junk cars, the oldest, rustiest, most neglected vehicles on the planet. The M18 1/2in impact breaks rust on lugs like a hot knife through butter. If there’s a better brand out there, God bless ’em. I’m buying Milwaukee! (This is a real review; probably my first ever)

A very powerful 18 volt Impact Wrench. The 450 ft- lbs of torque removes tire lug nuts with ease. The pin detent gives secure socket retention. The Wrench has a forward and reverse button. The tool is well balanced .I highly recommend this Impact Wrench.

better than the matco I had. Seems to be as good as Snapon best an more expensive impact. Based on info I could find the 450 lbs torque, as good or better than all except matco best. I bought a combo pack that had 2 batt, charger, sawsall, drill, small impact, an light. The tools are great, I hope the batteries are as good as they claim.

This little baby rocks! Light weight, powerful, quiet, and extremely handy. I took 40 lug nuts out ( two cars wheels) using the compact battery in few minutes with no problem at all. It would be nicer if Milwaukee added a plastic case (at least) to this product! If you already have the charger and battery from Milwaukee M18 series, this product is a king in its category in comparison to other brands. Highly recommended. One thing to consider before purchasing is that, the regular compact old version of M18 series batteries won’t fit this impact wrench and you have to buy the XC High capacity for it. The reason is that, the old version of M18 series batteries come with two detentes while the XC High capacity has only one, therefore, you will not be able to slide the battery all the way to the end. In my particular case, I had to file one detent of the old compact battery. Ironically, the new M18 Red Lithium- Ion series comes only with one detent and fits all “compact and heavy duty tools”.P,S: Here I have added a link so you can see whats the issue with detentes. http://www.coptool.com/blog/2010/06/milwaukee_m18_batteries_compac.html
