Worked perfectly for what I needed.

The Milwaukee 90-degree impact is phenomenal. I install solar Fields all across the country and we have many of these and all of our work trailers. Very easy to use the Dual switch and they can get in there very hard to reach places. The only drawback is it’s hard to get the extensions out when they break.

I have been using this tool in various automotive applications. The head can reach into areas my other impacts can not. I’ve used 1/4 & 3/8ths sockets often with the tool as well as driver bits.

While no where near the driving power of the M18 Fuel Impact Driver( which I love and use often) for the few occasions I just don’t have space, the M18 right angle driver does its job. I was hoping it could also be used with a spade bit to drill through studs for wiring – a project in the next month or so – but not so sure it will work. Overall, as part of the M18 line, buying the driver alone has already been worth the money.

There are times when you need to get into areas that your regular impact can’t fit. So what do you do, use an offset screw driver type of tool or a ratchet? Those are old methods that takes a lot of your time with little return on investment. Let’s face it, time is money. That’s why I added a new Milwaukee M1 18-Volt Lithium-ion Cordless 2-Speed 1/4in. Right Angle Impact Driver to my tool arsenal. This is a game changer for working in service cabinets and other tight fitting areas. I love this tool.

My carport project gave me very little room for attaching the plastic roofing panels to the ledger board under the eaves of my roof, so I bought this right-angle impact driver after reading all the rave reviews. They were not wrong! With a set of “stubby” drill bits and the Milwaukee magnetic 1/4” socket, I got the panels drilled and fastened in place. The 18V 5.0 Amp/Hr battery hasbeen going strong for several days without needing a recharge and drilled and driven hundreds of screws without pre-drilling into pressure treated lumber. I cannot recommend this product enough! It was truly a life-saver for this project

This right angle impact driver can really get into places that I never dreamed of going with my standard pistol grip impact driver. It’s got plenty of torque too, at a maximum of 675 in-lbs. The two mode selection switch lets me do precise work and fast driving with the same tool. It’s very compact, and I measured the head at just under 2″ deep (see picture). I’m not exactly sure where Milwaukee or Home Depot was getting the 1.4″ and 1.7″ numbers – I guess there’s some leeway with the curved portion of the head.As usual, the M18 batteries charge lightning fast. Dead to full charge in about 30 minutes! I’m not sure what the charge time for the XC batteries are, since I only have the compact style. The battery packs also have a dedicated fuel level indicator that provides charge status at the touch of a button. To test out the battery life, I drove and backed out sixteen 3″ decking screws into a 2×4, and only used 1/4 of the indicated charge. So I’ll probably be able to manage close to a hundred 3″ fasteners on a full charge on a 2.0Ah CT battery. Note that only one battery is included in this kit, so if you don’t have any other M18 tools, you may want to purchase a spare. One great feature of this impact driver is that the drive head is adjustable for different angles. Unfortunately the innovation on this feature seemed to dead end with the original idea, since it turns out that the head is a pain to adjust. I was hoping for a quick release, but there’s actually a tensioning screw that needs to be unscrewed, and even then it’s very difficult to pull the 90° gearbox off. The first time I did it, I was afraid I was going to break it. I even went back and read the directions to make sure I was doing it right!Once I had the drive head off, I took a look inside to see how it works. There’s a spline adapter for transferring torque that slides out when the head is removed. To rotate the head, just place it back on and line up in any of the 6 grooves. It takes a bit of wiggling to get the splines and grooves both lined up, but it will eventually press back on. Another downside is that the ridges mating with the grooves are plastic and not metal.Since the drive head is fully removable, one thing I’d like to see from Milwaukee is a separately available right angle impact wrench head. They currently offer the same tool with the impact wrench head, but I picked the impact driver head since I do more woodworking than automotive work. However, the tool loses a lot of its compactness if I need to add a 3/8″ drive adapter to it. Instead of buying a whole new tool, I’d like to be able to buy the conversion for a $25-50 price range. The driver has a very bright LED for illuminating the work area as well. It’s angled pretty well for targeting the drive head when the driver is rotated to the default position. However, when the drive head is rotated to a different angle, the light remains stationary. So if I’ve got the drive head swiveled 180°, the LED is illuminating the back of the drive head, and not the fastener. The paddle switch makes it easy to activate the driver no matter how I’m holding it. It’s really a good feature for a tool that’s made to get into hard to reach areas. However, the drive direction control switch is not as easy to use. It’s recessed so that it’s out of the way, but that makes it harder to switch. I found that I accidentally set it to “locked” (centered) instead of reverse or forward several times in my initial test runs. It’s not the end of the world, and I’m sure I’ll get a little more used to making certain I’ve got it fully engaged, but it’s missing some of the polish that I’m used to with Milwaukee tools. In summary, I was a little critical about the impact driver in my review, since there were a few features that I saw room for improvement in. I’m just usually blown away by Milwaukee innovation.Overall this is still a great tool, and you still can’t go wrong picking one up.

This right angle impact wrench works great in tight spots

As always with Milwaukee products, it is heavy duty and works great. Even though is states that it is an impact driver, I did not realize it until I used it. Making fastening in those hard to reach areas a breeze.

This thing is as advertised. I like all of the Milwaukee line!

I purchased this tool due to my small air compressor that I hated turning on to run my air ratchet, at first i thought I made a mistake due to it being weaker than my air ratchet. After a few months I find myself reaching for this tool the most since I can interchange the from 1/4″ to 3/8″ quickly. I like the battery life and the clearance this tool offers, I have many milwaukee fuel tools and appreciate the 5 year warranty proving this is a durable brand.

This thing is amazing. I pull parts off of cars in a junkyard. Absolutely a must have for taking dashes and bumpers off. This tool gave me the extra oomph to take me to the next level.

The tool actually worked better than expected. I thought it would be unbalanced, but it’s isn’t at all. It works in tight spots perfectly. Like all my Milwaukee tools, I can’t give this tool enough praise

Angle Impact driver worked well in crampped space to drive screws through metal into I-beam flange. Only issue was that rubber boot at tool bit end repeatedly fell off then finally drpped of into wall cavity thus I need to replace it. Could eliminate problem using crimp device or other fastener.
