The quickest, easiest, safest way to cut cables. One of the great designs of this tool, is that it’s balanced, so you can easily use it with one hand. You can get into tight spaces that are sometimes difficult with other cutting tools. No ratcheting. No straining. Some of those two person jobs are now one person jobs, unless they want to see how easy it is to cut with this. Line up the cutters at the point that you want to make the cut. Press and hold the trigger and in seconds, it easily and quickly makes a smooth cut. This one comes with the hard, protective case, charger and a battery. Every crew should have one of these. The jaws are replaceable. You can even get the jaws to cut ACSR. This model has the ONE KEY option too. It’s great to keep up with and maintain your tool with.

Having worked in the “Power Distribution Department” of a large chemical company for many years and changed many home services, I have cut a lot of cable the “old fashion way” ( with a hack saw or hand cable cutters) I know the effort needed to cut big cable to just the right length, especially when the cable is in a cabinet, a meter base or switchgear. I choose this Milwaukee cable cutter mostly because the name Milwaukee is known as a high quality line of tools and I was curious to see how much easier cutting cable could be? After cutting a few pieces of 500MCM copper ( which took about 3 1/2 seconds a cut) my response would be “WOW” about the only thing that I can think of that would make cutting cable any easier, would be if someone else did it!

This is a powerful tool with an open jaw In-line design and one handed operation with automatic jaw opening making the tool so much easier to handle. I used it to cut cables used to stabilize my fence and it cut like butter. It’s hard to believe a battery powered tool has so much power. Very easy to use and very little assembly is required. Battery power lasted for the duration of my job. Battery, charger, and sturdy case is included.

This M18 18-VOLT LITHIUM-ION CORDLESS CABLE CUTTER WITH CY/AL JAWS WITH(1) 2.0AH BATTERY, CHARGER, HARD CASE is hands down awesome. It is one handed and weighs less than half my two handed compound ratcheting cable cutter. Large aluminum cables are sliced through very quickly in tight service entrance raceways and I was really surprised at how long the battery lasted making repeated cuts of the scrap cable tails for recycling. Initial terminations were made as well as all clean up scrapping cuts with plenty of charge left on the meter.

Milwaukee has introduced a brilliant solution to the problem described. A cordless, portable cable cutting kit that will deal with copper and aluminum cables up to 750 MCM for copper or 1000 MCM for aluminum.The tool is heavy but it is pretty well balanced and very easy to use, successfully cutting cable time after time after time. The 2.0 Ah Lithium Ion battery charges quickly in the dedicated charger and Milwaukee boast 250 cuts per charge. The included carrying case holds everything and there is space to add additional jaw sets. A hex key needed to replace the cutting blades is also included. With ONE-KEY technology the tool can be inventoried and tracked using the app.

This cutter is ideal for cutting cables such as those for household wiring. The cutter has removable blades that are intended for use on both copper and aluminum wiring. It can also cut threaded and smooth rods up to 3/8 inches in diameter. In order to cut harder metals alternative blades are available.Operation is simple, place the cutter blades around the cable and press the trigger. This initiates a cutting cycle with the blades closing and then reopening.

I received my M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Cable Cutter With CY/AL Jaws with(1) 2.0Ah Battery, Charger, Hard Case. I really like the way Milwaukee tools package and ship out their products. I opened the shipping box and hard case and removed the charger and battery to charge it up. While the battery was charging it was a good time to read the instructions. After the battery was charged up I installed the battery in the Milwaukee cutting tool and now its ready to cut. I had some extra battery cables and I decided to cut one of the bad ends off of it just to see how the cutter worked. I was amazed on how fast the cutter cut through the battery cable. The cut was fairly clean. I just had to take a file and smooth it up a little before sliding in the terminal on. This cable cutter has a lot of power and didn’t even hesitate when cutting through the cable.
