I use my hole hawg mainly to drill out houses. It is lightweight and compact. It’ll tackle most everything I throw at it. Down side, it could use a little more torque. If you put a chipper bit in it it tends to shut down due to lack of power. Overall great product, would definitely buy again.

I’ve been using this to do all my electrical rough-ins.If you put a 9.0/12.0 battery it will run some of the smaller switchblade bits too for the plumbersI also use it to mix mud and thinset, after killing 2 cordless drills on a site with no powerNow that the mud mixer is out I would recommend getting it with the quik-lok chuck thoughI have that on my super hawg and makes setup/switching bits a breeze

I bought this drill two weeks ago. I have roughed in two homes since I bought it. I think this is the best battery operated tool on the market. It is better than my corded or electrical Milwaukee right angle drill much better

I have used the corded versions on many occasions and decided the cordless option would be the way to go…. Or maybe not. I can drill 2×4’s with the 2″ Switchblade bits no problem. The problems start when drilling thicker material or when I use a 3/4″ or 1″ diameter auger. I use the Augers to install holes for electrical wiring or in timbers to install bolts. The unit constantly limits out and refuses to run the bit out in reverse. This requires me to always have a wrench on hand to back the bit out and start over again. The only solution I have found it the feed the bit in 1-2″ inches at a time and clear the debris. Although this does not always prevent the unit not to limit out.

Perfectly designed. Only thing it is missing is the auto pilot button. 🙂

The 1/2″ hole hawg is a mean and efficient tool. I don’t know why I waited this long!
