I’ve used larger and smaller roto-hammers and this one surprised me for the power and battery life. The power, meaning impact energy, was more than I expected from a battery operated tool. The bench mark I use is a Bosch Bulldog that is about nine years old. The Milwaukee has double the impact energy of the Bulldog; You can feel it, see it, and it shows in its performance. Yes, it was faster than the Bulldog. The next surprise for me was the battery life. After twenty holes for Caliburn screws, the battery charge indicators still registered four leds. Granted, that’s not a lot of drilling and small holes (3/16″ four inches deep) to boot, but these tools have come a LONG way in terms of run time. I expected measurable decline in battery run time (5 Amp/hr battery), but not happening! I expect that this tool will be, if it isn’t already, a serious threat to corded SDS drills in this class. No cords to deal with when drilling in awkward positions or running long cords outside. Yes, that is a definite plus.

Love this drill, has the power to drill big holes all day. Also love the fact it can be used as a chipping gun

I got this tool to drill 5/16 in holes in local granite for splitting boulders and fixing bolts, and it works very well. It has enough power to drill quickly, yet still get enough holes out of a charge in hard rock. The shock absorption is a nice feature as well, with almost no uncomfortable vibrations from drilling. The tool also has a nice light on it which is great for drilling around boulders and into crevices. It is a bit heavy though, and with multiple batteries and bits it can be a pain to carry long distances, but for he amount of work it does it is worth it. I do also wish that they would include more room in the hard carrying case for batteries and bits.

We would normally use a heavy corded Bosch. This little unit has replaced it for all intents and purposes. Our building is made out of (for the most part) 40k psi concrete that we have to anchor equipment to and it punches holes through with ease.

Hands down my favorite rotary hammer. Unbelievable performance from a battery tool.

This tool really exceeded my expectations. Drilling faster than my corded 1″ hammer drill, it allowed me to get the job done faster in my situation. Using a 5/8 bit, I was able to knock out 80 holes with a 9ah battery (letting the battery rest a couple minutes after every 2 holes) with 1 cell light left. The day before, I drilled 20 same sized holes with a 6ah HO battery (back to back drilling without letting the tool/battery rest) and also had 1 battery cell left. All of this done without feeling fatigued from vibrations or weight from the tool. Overall great product so far.

My New Milwaukee M18 Hammer Drill is OK!But my 11-year old 36V DeWalt is still stroner than Milwaukee 18VClutch is not adjustable, and slips. I am not totally impressed
