Tool works great, bought a Bosch bit that only lasted two holes when half the teeth were broken

This tool is awesome. I am always impressed with Milwaukee’s ingenuity when it comes to all of their tools and I have yet to be let down by any of their offerings. This roto-hammer has the strength and ability of its chorded cousin and I read that it shares many of the same components. I have over two acres of property with a few outbuildings and other features that don’t have power to them. I usually end up bringing my generator out for any demolition work with a rented demo-hammer or I use a sledge hammer if their isn’t enough work to warrant a rental.I was able to use this tool with a chisel bit to bust off the concrete from recovered fence posts without any hesitation on the tools part. It made the work so much faster than a sledge and cold chisel and I wasn’t exhausted at the end of the day. This fence line is about 400 feet and downhill from the closest power source so I really didn’t want to drag the posts all the way back up to the shop and I have no way of getting my generator down to this point of my property. This will also be of great assistance removing many old 4″ concrete stanchions that were left behind from a previous owner. I have been avoiding this job like the plague as they are reinforced with rebar and they don’t break off easily. I may actually get this done and have time left over for something else.I have a couple small slabs going in for agricultural buildings and it will be nice to drill the anchor-bolt holes without having to drag out a generator again. I see this tool being a great benefit in the future for many other projects.

Drilled a 2 “ hole through brick with ease and didn’t take long at all . The 9.0 battery is also fantastic

First ,I actually own this tool ,not Bob down the street , I actually use this tool , I have used ,& have access the other cordless sds max drills. This is a far superior tool as compared to the other red one! As a matter of fact , I my own personal experience the 1 1/8″ milwaukee cordless will out do the other red brands 36v. Put them side by side and see what happens.

I must say, this drill can hold its own on a job site against any corded drill. I drilled a 3 5/8” core hole for 3” pvc and it did it without any trouble and didn’t phase the battery at all. Price is more than a corded version but you pay for quality.

Lot of power. Used it for three days straight digging foundations in fractured rock works great but you better have a bunch of batteries standing by

This machine right here is a a beast, i have drilled and demolished some concrete and it does the job just like an electric one. I would recommend it to anyone. respect

I got this as an alternative to corded tools in SDS-MAX; for commercial work. It surpassed all expectations. I now use it over my corded tools. I have found that the 12 high output battery gives me much longer operation time then the 9 high demand (I would not go below a 9). This tool has a great shut off if you hit rebar to protect the equipment, and operator. The key if you are drilling alot of holes is to have a couple batteries. I have found with a 9 and a 12 together I can drill about 45-50 holes or so (1/2 through 6in concrete). Although I have more batteries if needed. It is also a good idea to have the rapid charger with you to charge batteries as soon as they drain. In terms of power vs. corded it has it; just works a little different in cycle of operation through the hammering and drilling evolution.

Bought this to chip up quarry tile flooring, the guys said it was great and didn’t ever run down, we did swap the battery for one of my 12 amp batteries but overall it ran perfectly

This Milwaukee cordless rotary hammer is a beast to say the least. With a 9.0 ah Milwaukee M18 battery, the tool weighs about 15 pounds. The hammer/chisel function makes short work on breaking up concrete and masonry work. We tried this out to demo a footing used on an old basketball pole. The footing was too heavy to carry as one piece. The hammer/chisel function provided a quick safe way to break the large footing down to reasonable size pieces for disposal. This tool can be used to demo small concrete pads, block walls, and sidewalks. I do not recommend using this for large demo projects where you would be demoing thick concrete, large pads, and such. Tools of this size and design are not intended for continuous use like jackhammers, pavement breakers and Demolition Hammers. There are heavy vibrations from the hammer/chisel function. It does not appear the tool includes any damping for this. This may be an issue should you intend to use the tool for extended periods. The tool does require a good amount of energy. I recommend the 9.0 ah Milwaukee M18 battery for this tool.Be sure you purchase bits and chisels that are SDS-MAX. Your standard SDS bits do not fit.

For some reason I thought this tool would accept my large assortment of SDS-Plus bits and chisels – I was wrong. Fortunately there are adapters offered by DeWalt, Milwaukee, Bosch and possibly others that allow the use of SDS-Plus bits and chisels to be used in SDS-Max tools. Prices I’ve found online range from about $45 to $85, considerably less than having to purchase a new assortment of SDS-Max bits. This tool is designed to use Milwaukee’s 9.0Ah battery and can be purchased as a bare tool (no battery or charger), or with one battery and charger or with two batteries and charger. It should be noted that the cost of these batteries is deeply discounted when they’re purchased as a set with the tool. Although this machine will run on any of Milwaukee’s 18 volt lithium-ion batteries the 9.0Ah battery is advertised to last 20 minutes between charges when used for chipping. Obviously, the lesser amp hour batteries will run out much sooner and I image they provide less overall power. The no load rotations per minute is variable between 0-450 RPM. The blows per minute varies between 0-3000 BPM. Max bit sizes are 1-9/16″ twist bit, 4″ core bit and 2-5/8″ tunnel bit. The controls are simple and straight forward. Twist to loosen the handle, rotate to the desired position and retighten. Above the variable speed trigger is a lock-out button to prevent accidental activation of the trigger. Pressing the trigger activates the built-in work light. The rotary knob at the top is selectable for “Hammer Only”, “Hammer with Rotation” or “O” which allows you to adjust the chisel bit angle. When my SDS-Max to SDS-Plus bit adapter arrives my first project will be removing a small broken concrete slab at my rear door. I own an assortment of Milwaukee corded and cordless power tools, and hand tools, and from experience I have no doubt this rotary hammer will be up to the task. Milwaukee offers a 5 Year Limited Warranty to the original purchaser on the tool and a 3 Year Limited Warranty on the battery.
