Brush less motor runs quiet and stays cool even after extended use. Tool is heavy but gives steady and balanced cuts. It is very close if not better than my “old faithful” corded.

This Sawzall is absolutely outstanding, with no drawbacks or compromises. The only reason I didn’t give it a five star review is that this is my second FUEL Sawzall. My first one had a defect where it wouldn’t hold the blade in properly. I returned it at my local vendor, and got it exchanged at no extra charge. Bottom Line: BUY THIS SAW. It beats everything else out there.

This saw is top of the line. Battery life is superior to other brands. Milwaukee has delivered another great product.

Bought this Milwaukee Sawzall after a series of misadventures with a competing brand. The other brand didn’t come with case, & as much as I tried to love it, it’s lack of a case (which the manufacturer acquiesced to provide, only to renege), it’s frail construction was was the final nail it’s coffin. I own a corded Sawzall, & combined with the other false starts with the other cordless reciprocating saw, here’s what I like & what I don’t. Like:1. Sturdy. This saw is well built. I contacted Milwaukee & they indicated the mechanics are identical to their corded Sawzall, which makes it slightly heavier than other brands, but studier.2. Comes with dual 5-amp batteries (plus charger), 25% greater capacity than most competing models. Despite the 25% greater capacity, the batteries are only 1% (10 grams) heavier than competitors’ 4-amp batteries.3. Ergonomic. Sculpted. Feels great in my hands.4. The blade-lock release actuator that opens the head that secures the blades is sturdy, doesn’t stick out or travel with the head, & can easily be operated with either the hand holding the saw or the hand holding the blade. This allows you hold the saw with one hand, change the blade with the other, without needing to set the saw down, hold it in your lap or with your legs, armpit, etc.5. The shoe is sturdy & swivels with the angle of the work. I think this makes more practical sense than a shoe with fixed angles where you have to hold the saw at the same angle, rather than let the saw’s shoe follow the work.6. Brushless. Some reciprocating saws are, the cheaper one’s aren’t. Brushless translates into better efficiency, which means longer cut time on a charge.7. Swing-out hanger. For the few tasks I’ve done so far with the saw, I’ve used the hanger every time. I didn’t know I needed this until I had it, and now I love it. Other saws I’ve used/have you lay them down (or put them in the case) when you’re not using the saw. This isn’t too terrible if your surface is clean & free or debris. If you’re in a messy environment, our outdoors, this can be horrible, forcing debris into the motor-housing’s vents.8. Milwaukee support is readily available. No problem reaching them, and they were willing to discuss saws & saw concepts generally, without making me feel like I was getting in the way of their ability to get to the next caller.9. Battery charger also charges Milwaukee’s 12V batteries if you have one of those tools (which, if you look at Milwaukee’s line of cordless tools, is extensive for both 18V & 12V).10. The sound the saw makes, while louder than my corded Sawzall, is not nearly as harsh as some other saws I’ve used.11. Cordless. Holy smokes, this opens up a whole range of uses impractical with a corded saw. I never went cordless before because I figured a battery-powered saw would go through charged batteries so quickly as to be virtually useless. My notion was unfounded. I don’t know exactly how long the saw will cut on a charge (because no job has gone long enough to go through a whole charge), but it’s “a while.” More specifically, “long enough.”12. Comes with two batteries. Anybody that uses cordless tools know you need two batteries. Going through a charge and then waiting to charge the battery, rather than swap an uncharged battery for a charged one, is impractical.13. Comes with a case. My corded Sawzall came in a metal box. I took it for granted that these saws came with a case. I had so many different types & lengths of blades in that box it didn’t occur to me that one would have a saw without a place to put the myriad of blades, some of them super sharp & dangerous. Getting a competitor’s saw that didn’t come with something to carry it in reinforced this afore unrealized need to the point I say “Make sure your saw comes with a case.”Don’t Like:1. Battery charger doesn’t look as cool as competitor’s and could be more compact.2. Doesn’t have an orbital mode like some others. I’m not sure how effective orbital mode is given the flexibility of blades, but I’d rather have the capability than not have it.3. Heavier than some other saws. I don’t notice it, but it is. Some professional reviewers have noted that heavier saws are more durable. I can’t speak to this fact anecdotally, but it would make sense.4. Louder than my corded Sawzall. The sound isn’t as harsh or jarring as some other cordless saws, but my corded Sawzall is quieter even after 20 years of extreme abuse.

You just can’t beat the quality of this manufacturer’s tools. Here again, Milwaukee provides the user a quality and powerful tool to get the job done. The kit comes complete with batteries and charger. There is also room to store some extra blades. In the video demonstration, the only issue was that I did not use a quality blade. The saw performed flawlessly. I recommend that you purchase only top quality blades to be used in this saw.The quick blade changing feature is awesome. It is so easy to change blades, without the need for additional tools (see video). The only complaint I have is that I should have gotten one of these tools sooner. I can guarantee that the buyer will be very happy with this addition to their power tool collection. This would make a great holiday gift.

I’m 63, very disabled due to back pain. I researched saws 6 mths. This thing has the power of a corded tool. I can’t afford to hire, so must tend to property. This cuts ground level smooth as butter. Trimmed my 800’drive. Now working on brush. It just doesn’t get better. My grown son is always borrowing it. When only the best will do.

I haven’t had a chance yet to really put the saw through its paces, however I’ve been impressed with the saw thus far. It seems well built and feels very solid. Blade changes are easy, batteries last a decent amount of time, and the case is sturdy.

Looking for a saw with power identical to corded models, but don’t want to drag out 150 feet of cord each time you need to do some demo? Then grab this new brushless model 2720-22 from Milwaukee and don’t look back. In fact, grab it now.Whether it’s the impeccable assembly of the unit, the seamlessly smooth drive of the reciprocating mechanism or the “You can’t slow me down” power from the newly designed brushless motor and extended capacity batteries, you can’t find anything wrong with this saw. Nothing. From top to bottom this is Milwaukee’s best Sawzall.Out of the box you’ll notice the wonderful signature red Milwaukee carrying case that fits the tool, batteries and charger like a glove. No flopping around inside. Everything has it’s place and fits perfect. Included in the case is a blade to get you started.Grab the batteries and the charger and get the batteries charged up so you can play, er I mean ‘work’ with the saw. Each pack takes over one hour to charge. Yes, that seems long, but these are 4AH batteries. It takes some time to complete a charge on a pack of that capacity. The trade off is silly long run times. It takes a long time to drain a pack while cutting even hard material (more about that in a bit). Each pack has a battery gauge that lets you know exactly how much power you have left. You’ll never wonder if you’re just about to lose a charge. The charger is a dual type battery charger. It can charge the Milwaukee brand 12V and 18V batteries. It monitors the charge and lets you know it’s done with a bright green light. One charger for all your batteries. Most welcome. Now let’s get to why you’re really here. The sawzall itself. Does it do all it claim to in the ads? Does the brushless motor really make that much of a difference? Does it have the same power as the famous corded models?YES. The answer is YES all around. You can’t stop this saw. Anything you toss at it, it devours. We cut pipe, tubing, nails and since we also recently finished a huge fencing job we cut off the tops of dozens of 4×4 treated posts in 35 degree weather. We cut off the top of every single post on one battery pack. It never slowed, never bogged down and the battery still showed 50% charge. Unbelievable, but it did. The brushless motor is gentle on power usage, but a beast with it’s power for cutting. The best of both worlds in a cordless tool.Changing blades is made simple with the one touch blade release. Simply move the lever, insert your blade and let go. No more messing with hex wrenches and clumsy collets like some brands. The shoe is also completely adjustable using a quick drop down lever that locks it in place.Built into the side of the saw is the chrome hanging clip. Flip it out and hook the tool over your sawhorse, bench, etc.To top it off, a bright LED light is set into the face of the tool, just behind the shoe to light the cut. You may think you don’t need it, but the first time you’re cutting a beam in an attic, you’re going to love it.There is no way I could have been more impressed with this tool. Milwaukee has outdone themselves with this new addition to the classic Sawzall line.

Ill admit Im a huge fan of Milwaukee tools. But that doesn’t mean Im opposed to owning other brands. Some brands just excel at making certain things. Milwaukee and their sawzall is a perfect example.I have a corded super sawzall that I used to use for everything, now that I own this fuel sawzall I haven’t used the corded one in over a year. Im not kidding you this thing is an absolute beast. I use this tool daily and i can’t tell you how many times this saw has outperformed just about any corded non milwaukee reciprocating saw on the job. Guys on the jobsite are always shocked how awesome this saw is.I had to use a Dewalt corded saw once when I didn’t have my fuel saw and I couldn’t believe how weak the Dewalt felt compared to the fuel. Sorry Dewalt guys Milwaukee is the standard for reciprocating saws period! Not to mention their batteries by far outlast any 18v battery I’ve used. Get this saw you won’t be disappointed. I would say without a doubt this will replace a corded tool. Just keep batteries handy because any cordless saw drains a battery fast with heavy use.

A Sawzall is a great all-around tool that becomes even better as a cordless. Can go from trimming a tree to working on a roof to cutting pipe in a ditch. This is a heavy tool and needs an optional side handle. Great that Milwaukee includes and marks the XC 4.0 batteries clearly. Buying cordless batteries from the other guys can otherwise be an exercise in guessing what you’re buying and frustration when you find you got the wrong battery.

Package arrived today in a broken box without a package receipt. Very disappointed in how this package was boxed and shipped. Thankfully the item was in its own case and not damage. Now I have to make a call to the Home Depot customer service to see if I can get a receipt as of proof of purchase. This is my first and probably the last time I will order anything from the online store if packages are to arrive with no proper packaging and insulation to keep item secured.

Almost hard to believe this is a cordless tool. This tool is amazing. I can’t think of one thing I don’t like about it. It is so powerful you would think it was plugged it. Time to cut the cords!!

I enjoy the idea that I can just grab the tool and go to a job. It is ready and charged and powerful enough to get me done quick. No need to try to plan ahead or delay work while waiting to charge something.

After years of stringing power cords I stepped up and purchased the cordless M18 Fuel 18 volt lithium-ion brushless sawzall. This saw exceeds the demos I viewed on line. The saw’s power is amazing. It cuts as fast as my corded model, if not faster! It’s smooth and exceptionally easy to change blades. The 5 ah battery just doesn’t wear down from what I credit to the brushless design. I used it on some prunning too, instead of getting the chain saw out. This is a phenomenal saw. I was so impressed with it I purchased a brushless hammer/drill driver and brushless circular saw too. Milwaukee hit a “grand slam” when it came up with this brushless design.
