The M18 FUEL SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw cuts faster than its corded counterparts and offers up to 2X more runtime and 5X longer tool life than competitive saws. The POWERSTATE brushless motor provides cutting power. Compatible with ONE-KEY, this is the industrys first Reciprocating Saw that wirelessly connects to a smart phone to Customize, Track and Manage a tools performance and location. Unlimited Tool Customization allows you to connect to the tool and access predetermined set-ups for blades and materials or have complete control over output speed and power for the specific application at hand. Once the desired output performance is reached, the custom profile is then saved to the memory of the tool and the connection to the smart phone is no longer necessary. The app will track all ONE-KEY compatible devices within 100 ft. range of your phone. By building the functionality into the tool, not the battery, all devices are trackable even if the battery is not charged or on the tool. I got this saw because I like the utility of a sawzall and the fact that it is a Milwaukee product, which I have had very good luck with so far. I was not sure how I would like one that is cordless, but my first impressions are very favorable. I helped a friend from work last weekend with a bathroom remodel project, and this baby really shined and performed well. We cut sheet rock, PVC, 2×4’s and marine grade plywood for the project,and the saws battery held its charge pretty well, and recharged pretty quickly when we took a break and for lunch. It was nice not having any cords to have to wrangle with or trip over, and being cordless allows more flexibility and freedom of movement on projects. I’m really just a casual user, but this saw definitely has won a top spot in my tool collection already.

The M18 sawzall is extremely powerful, yet functional and it lasts longer than all the others I have tried. I am in the construction business as a general contractor and have let many trades use it for there projects and its reliability along with its many other features puts this product in a league of its own. One Key by Milwaukee is a game changer! It allows the user to customize the settings of the tool to however the user needs. With this sawzall, you can use bluetooth to connect directly to the tool and change its settings such as soft start (On/Off), starting strokes per minute (SPM), max SPM, locating the tool if its missing (within 100′ of your phone). The One Key app is amazing as well with out using One Key. I have added my power tools to the inventory that it allows you to keep on the phone, it even allows you to add other brands to its database as well. As for the saw, it has a lot of features that are quite useful that my old sawzall didn’t have. The blade shoe is adjustable, it has a rafter hook built in, and One Key. The charger with this system is a rapid charger, so it charges your batteries faster than a standard charger. The 9.0 Ah batteries on this are larger than the 5.0 Ah batteries of the cheaper kits, but a high demand power tool like this needs a bigger battery. Milwaukee claims that it will cut faster than an electric sawzall, it did cut faster than my 8 year old electric from another brand. Milwaukee nailed it out of the park with this set up, two batteries, a rapid charger, sawzall, and case. Depending on how much you use it, even on a construction site I would think one battery would last you a full day even with heavy use. This is an expensive kit, but if you have many high demand Milwaukee tools, getting this with the 9.0 Ah batteries is a good deal as the batteries alone are not cheap! These batteries are compatible with any M18 tool.

With the 9.0 Ah HD Lithium batteries (2 included), there certainly are no home DIY projects or professional all-day-activities that it can’t handle. Although I’ve not set it up yet, the “one-key” security feature takes this on-site tool to another level to protect your investment with on-the-go apps for your smart phone tracking. Featuring “soft-start” variable max RPM settings, you can tailor the tools speed to the task at hand. The quick-blade-connect is easy to operate and provides a solid hold on to the blades during operationThe very robust carry hard case also provides transport protection and is big enough for extra blades and small tools. This Sawzall kit is the calibrated standard against all other makes reciprocating saws are measured against. This kit has it all, a robust and sturdy Sawzall, two high capacity 9.0 Ah batteries and a dual M18 and M12 charger. Using this around the yard with a pruning blade attachment has been cutting through up to 6″ wood like a hot knife through butter. After almost two plus hours of use, the battery is still holding a charge. I wore out for the day before this Sawsall did. Highly recommend.

I bought this kit online new with 2 9 amp batteries and 1 5 amp. The seller didn’t include the case normally but sent me the case for the non one key version which after a little modifying fits good enough. I think I paid just under 3 hundred for everything and so far I don’t regret it one bit. Its only been 6-9 months but so far so good. Now I am ready to resell my 6538-21 corded sawzall since I don’t use it anymore. It has only been used to cut a sheet of drywall, and aluminum fence posts totaling less then 45 minutes maximum run time. I bought it 2-3 yrs ago but my cordless one probably has 3-5 hrs cutting time in a third the time. Cordless is awesome. Never want to go back to being restricted by a cord.

I recently tested out this sawzall while cutting both wood and metal used in building a closet. It’s incredibly powerful, and the kit is quite comprehensive. Here are my overall impressions:(1) Milwaukee knows how to put together an attractive package that makes its high-end tools both look and feel premium. The sturdy carry case nicely housed the tool, charger, and dual extra-large battery packs.(2) The sawzall had no trouble cutting through heavy-duty metal closet poles, and while it wasn’t quite “like a hot knife through butter,” it was infinitely faster than using a hacksaw.(3) The One-Key system provides inventory tracking, which I could see being extremely helpful in larger operations. For home users, the ability to tailor the tool for customized use is nice, although I do wish a few these options could be controlled from the tool itself.Here are my minor concerns:(1) For a kit this expensive, I was surprised that just one small, cheap blade was included. It won’t last long. Milwaukee should really throw in a few different blades (they market dozens) to provide purchasers a wider range of uses out of the box.(2) While the huge XC 9.0 battery packs are awesomely-powerful and the very best Milwaukee has to offer, they add $100 to this kit over the dual XC 5.0 packs, which are more than powerful enough for smaller jobs. The XC 5.0 packs would also make the Sawzall a bit easier to wield.(3) The One-Key feature also adds a lot to the cost of this kit, and may not be necessary for most users.Basically, this is the top-of-the-line setup, which means you’re paying a bit of a premium for it. It’s packed with both power and features, however, so if you want the best, this is it.
