The main advantage with his router is its small size and lightness. I’ve got a table mounted router and a full size corded unit that have their place, but this little fellow is able to be there for trimming an edge with no cords. Unless you’ve tried a cordless router, you might not realize it’s lack of complication. I prefer to use a saw for most things because of all the jiggery with setting a router up, but this one is really pretty good at staying on top of my bench instead of in its case. Typical Milwaukee quality too.

Great deal. Buy 2 batteries and get a free tool. What a great deal!

The router works like it should except for one thing. The dial to control the depth is really easy to bump an change the height of the bit. But other than that really like it. Wish they would make a full size router eventually.

I pulled into my local Home Depot that I frequent nearly every day for my business. This time I wanted to buy a router. I browsed the tool section and found what I wanted. The routers, except for the displays, are all locked up. I spent 20 minutes, yes 20 minutes trying to find someone to open the cabinet so I could get the tool and go. I asked two inventory people – who couldn’t help, one person stocking plumbing parts, who paged someone to meet me at the tools. No one arrived for 10 minutes. I went to the service desk where another page was sent out. I waited for another 5 plus minutes. I put the router bit I had selected back on the shelf and was headed to the door when Katie, from the service desk – who had sent out the second page, had the presence of mind to meet me and help me out. I already expect ho-hum service from H/D, after all they obviously have a heavy turnover of employees, and many of them are young college students. I have been marooned at this store before trying to get help, but today set a record. Katie was polite and helpful, and I was finally headed to the car with the router and bit.If I didn’t need this tool today, I would have spent my money elsewhere. I can’t believe that there is no one working in the front of the store where the most expensive items – power and hand tools are. Management needs to get their act together, or hire Katie for the job.

I bought this small router to mortise doors for hinges and strike plates in door casings. I also will use it for trimming laminate and rounding over edges. Since most of my demands are for short duration, I find that a smaller battery (4ah) makes for a better balanced tool than the larger 12ah. This small router has all the power that my old large corded router had. I love it.

I enjoy it’s size and the weight because I am usually on the set without a stinger readily available. Great speed variable and feels good in hand.

Upgraded my cordless router from another brand, this thing blows it out of the water. Smooth consistent power. Feels good in the hands, stops on a dime. Very powerful and feels extremely well built! Very happy so far with how it feels and it’s performing.

great tool, plenty of power the only reason I did not rate this a 5 is the height adjust can move when using the tool it does not lock down tight enough. It can easily move while you use the tool

Works great doing laminate and small jobs where a table is not needed.

I haven’t used it yet but it seems to be constructed really well. Everything looks to be simple and easy to use. I’m sure this tool will last a long time.

I have used the compact router with HDPS and pine so far and it has plenty of power. Paired with my M18 vacuum I love how little clean up I have to do afterward.

Love the compact design of this tool. Got the plunge base with it and love it. Never looking back at corded again.

I’ve been waiting for this as I didn’t “need” it, but I sure did “want” it. I received this and the M18 Wet/Dry vac for Christmas. It was a great day! I recently used the router to round over some shelving made from 3/4” oak plank flooring. It was fun to use! You don’t realize how much you mess with a router cord, until you don’t have one in your way! If you’re on the fence…don’t be. It’s worth adding this tool to your collection.

I use my router for light work, basic carpentry stuff including Van buildouts and work around the house. The router is super powerful and doesnt drain the batteries excessively. I did notice the design of the grip is not quite as good as my blue model (you really have to watch fingers around the base) but other than that one thing the whole rest of the package is better. The accessories are better as well, giving you a good start of options to work with.Note- I use the HD batteries for best performance & life but had success (although brief) with the standard battery packs for small jobs.

Good product but depth adjustment seems to wander a bit
