The Milwaukee M18 FUEL Compact Router combines power, speed and accurate depth adjustments to deliver clean accurate cuts in a variety of materials and applications. The compact router leverages the POWERSTATE Brushless Motor and REDLINK PLUS electronics. This delivers the power of corded 1.25 HP trim routers and best-in-class 31,000 RPM delivering users with power and speed for clean, quality cuts in hard materials. With an M18 REDLITHIUM XC5.0 battery, the cordless compact router cuts up to 250 ft. of 3/8 in. round overs in red-oak, providing users with all-day run time with fewer trips to the charger. The handheld router is equipped with a micro-adjust dial and macro-adjust button, giving users fast and accurate depth adjustments for highly accurate work. A variable-speed dial with speed from 10,000 RPM to 31,000 RPM gives users control in all applications. The trim router also features a sturdy 4 in. sub-base plate giving users stability, and dual-LED lights illuminate their work surface. The M18 FUEL Compact Router is compatible with a plunge base and an offset base (sold separately).

I use this router for everything, trim doors, edge counter tops, scroll work, the options are limitless. The way you can micro adjust it, the variable speed is great, and the compact size is awesome and I like that bit change is so easy. There is nothing I dislike about this tool.

Have only had this for several weeks now..wow! Just as powerful and easy to use as my corded models…thought the weight of a battery might throw off the weight balance but amazingly it’s actually better … Helps keep it planted tight to your work surface. Used it for detailing 8×8 Douglas fir deck posts recently….8 posts and plenty of 5.0 battery left!!! Another quality product from Milwaukee….

I’ve been gradually converting my tool inventory to cordless and Milwaukee is my tool of choice. The compact router is my latest installment. So far I’ve it for rounding over hardwood stock edges. This solidly built tool has a really nice feel to it. It has impressive power and produces amazingly smooth results. Have not yet found anything I don’t like about it.

I like the portability but the adjustment doesn’t tighten up really good and allows the router bit to move. I returned the first one because I thought something was wrong with the first one. I opened up the second one and same problem.

I think I had the usual thoughts about this product at first. Thoughts like it’d be top heavy or off balance to use, under powered or run through batteries, etc. For my needs on various projects I’m able to say none of this is true. So far I’ve only needed the 5ah to round over edges or cut grooves into various projects and builds around the house and for others. I have yet to run through a battery and can imagine only needing 2-3 extra batteries if I were to be using this router for much of the day. First thing I noticed was that this thing is powerful. Much more than my corded compact and has easily done a few jobs I would have grabbed my larger 2 hp router for. I will probably be adding the plunge base for this very soon. Comes with a edge guide, larger base plate, collet wrenches, though there is a lock button, and the dust extraction attachment. I use the 1-1/4″ hose from a Ridgid car cleaning kit attached to vacuum and was surprised it left virtually nothing on the floor even though the bit had to go through the work piece. Truthfully I saw nothing but still tend to sweep up anyway. On that same note, the dust extraction attachment is a smoke colored see through which makes it difficult to see the bit unless the tool is on, thus turning the tools light on. It can be a bit tricky at first to align the pin into the base but nothing major and gets easier as one gets used to it. Once attached the fit is a little sloppy but in no way has hindered its ability to work as intended. The only thing I would change is having the micro adjustment lock in place once the base latch is closed as well. Though it has not wandered while in use, I can see accidental moving of the adjustment depending on how you grasp the tool during use or in setting it aside and picking back up. Overall, love this thing!

From the box straight to a 6″ x 10″ doug fur beam. The router did not miss a beat. Fits very comfortably into my hand (one handed routing) and very light to use over head. I like that the router bit pretty much stops instantly when you switch it off. Reasonably quite. I like this tool very much and it is a fantastic addition to my tool box.
