The POWERSTATE Brushless Motor was purposely built for the M18 FUEL 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw to provide the power and performance of a 15 Amp corded circular saw. Built-in REDLINK PLUS Intelligence ensures optimal tool performance and provides overload protection to prevent damage to the tool and battery during heavy applications while still maintaining compatibility across the entire M18 System. The Milwaukee M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT XC8.0 Battery Pack provides 50% more power and runs 50% cooler vs M18 REDLITHIUM XC battery packs. The optimized combination of smaller size and increased power of the 18-Volt battery provides a great solution for the entire range of M18 products. I may never use a corded circular saw again. I have been using the 6.5″ cordless circular saws from Milwaukee and Dewalt for years and while they do a nice job they always felt like they were struggling to power through. This saw has the perfect weight and balance and starts and stops smoothly. My first outing was to cut a large number of plywood sheets into pre-set squares and rectangles for a school project. Put in a new plywood blade and got through all 100+ cuts with plenty of juice left on my XC8.0 battery. Second use was cross citing 2x6s and 2x8s, and no issue there either. I would certainly recommend making the leap if you are in the market for a cordless circular saw.

This saw is amazing. As part of a non profit organization I do a fair amount of work constructing bridges and other amenities in some of our local parks and trail systems. We usually have to drag a generator out into the woods which is a PITA. As a huge fan of the M18 Fuel tools I saw this and decided to pull the trigger and I am so glad I did. I had always discounted cordless circular saws because most did not take a full size 7-1/4″ blade and even then power was lacking. This saw has just as much power as my corded saw (which I haven’t used since buying this) and the XC8.0 battery lasts way longer than I would have expected. I counted once and the battery lasted through 250 cuts of full dimension 2×6 and 50 cuts of full dimension 2x10s. One feature that I didn’t even know it had when I bought it, but comes in handy, is the rafter hook. You can hang the saw where ever between cuts or for storage. I jeep it hooked onto one of the rafters in my detached garage so it’s ready to go but my kids can’t mess with it. Love this thing. Buy one.

This is the best skillsaw I have ever used hands down.I love the fact that as soon as I release the trigger there’s a brake that stops the blade almost instantly, makes the job so much safer putting the saw down.Easy to adjust depth and angle which makes everything easier when doing certain depth cuts or angles when I don’t have a table saw.Love the M18 series!
