The M18 FUEL 7 in. Variable Speed Polisher is the world’s first cordless full-size rotary polisher. By harnessing the power, performance and run-time of M18 FUEL technology, this tool delivers corded performance that allows users to power through the most demanding applications. At more than 1 lbs. lighter than corded, and the ability to deliver total control through a variable speed dial and trigger, the new M18 FUEL Polisher frees users from the extra work, distractions, paint damage, and inconvenience caused by cords. Paired with M18 XC 5.0 batteries, the M18 FUEL Polisher can complete a full size car on 1-charge when working on moderate to good paint. The M18 FUEL Polisher is equipped with a rubber over mold front housing to protect the paint from scratches in use as well as a removable dust cover to protect the motor and electronics from wool fibers and residue. The new tool is designed to distribute more of its weight over the pad, providing natural pressure on the surface area and more.

Hands down a really great polisher. I stuck a 5.0 battery in it just to see how long it would last. I polished my hood, fender and door on my Tahoe with compound and wool pad. Then again with swirl remover and foam pad. It knocked one bar off the battery. Impressive.

First time buffing and it was a complete on a 2009 Hummer H2. Buffer work great! Use the total of three charged batteries to complete the monster task. That includes one complete walk around with a wool pad with compound and a second-round with machine glaze and a foam pad. Excellent product, excellent buy!

I started up a mobile detailing business and thus is a must its a work horse I bought the biggest battery possible for it and zi get about 45 minutes of hard polishing which is pretty good you can get by on one battery all day if not using it like I do. I am usually 3/4 of the ways done when battery dies but this is a great polisher

I use rotary buffers for cars and for polishing airstreams. I recently had an old corded unit fail so I gave this a try. This buffer would be great for a mobile detailer or a home car enthusiast, it is great to cut the cord, but it cannot replace a 10A or 12A corded unit if you need to do some heavy work. Claiming that it has 10A power is simply untrue. The max RPM of this tool is 2000 RPM, corded units max out at 3000-3500 RPM depending on which model. When polishing a heavily oxidized Airstream I went through 2 8-amp hour and 4 6-amp hour high output batteries to polish a 3’ x 2’ patch. With the before mentioned batteries It will only run at full power for about one or 2 minutes before the battery throttles the tool back. And the batteries listed only powered the tool for 6 to 8 minutes each. 4 18v battery chargers were no where near enough to keep up with the tool in heavy use. Using a traditional Makita 10A I could polish the same area in 1/2 or 1/3 the time of this tool. I have bags and bags of m18 and m12 tools and I wanted this to work, but since I often need buffers for heavy applications This just was not strong enough for me. If you want a sweet cordless buffer for light work, this would be great, but if you want a work hoarse, this tool just isn’t there yet.

I work in the collision repair industry and bought it for home use. Works great. Don’t have to worry about cord. More than enough power. Make sure to use 9 amp or larger batteries for larger areas.

Polish concrete and stone. Too short. I hate short. Really still too short

I used it with the 3m 3 step polishing system worked great .kept the speed low 1500 to 1800 rpm . Mid capacity or higher battery is probably best i used one of the lower ones and it runs outa juice a little soon. Not heavy ,balanced ,no cord ,very satisfied!

I’m currently using this for shaping and finishing surfboards. I can’t even imagine using a corded sander again. Very well done, with a nice variable range of r.p.m. The reason for 4 stars out of 5 is the grip and trigger was a little awkward for my hand. Not a deal breaker for me though, and it’s got so much going for it. Great for cutting and polishing.
