This is a little beast. Used it for the first time on Sunday to change the struts and coil springs on my f150. I’m telling you I was surprised by the force and power of the impact drill, everything was a breeze. Removing the nuts from the tires piece of cake and struts 29mm lacking nut was sweet.

Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless 1/2 in. Compact Impact Wrench is going to replace my air impact tool. When working on the car I use the air compressor to run the air impact wrench which can be a hassle for only a couple of minutes work. With this tool no setup needed and its as good as the old air wrench. The tool is less noisy with no air hose to get in the way and not having the air compressor kicking in. A cordless battery operated tool is so much more convenient with this one having a mid-range torque of 220 ft. pounds for those that care about stats. For those that want high torque I’ve seen a Milwaukee 700 ft. pound model, too. The speed on this tool is selectable in the base with three buttons. The different speeds are set depending on how you are using the wrench. The lowest speed settings is for sinking self threading screws and the highest for the heaviest work The wrench automatically stops for a period to prevent overheating depending on the speed selected. This is a compact tool that uses a pin instead of a ring to hold onto sockets. To put on a socket or take one off you need something to push down the pin detent since it really holds on to the socket. For convenience it has a light above the trigger when working in dark corners like under the car or in the engine compartment. Its a pleasure to handle at about four pounds with battery so holding it overhead is no problem. Besides the car I used it on a couple of lag bolts without a problem, they just tightened snug tight in a pre-drilled concrete wall. One thing I like about the tool besides its ability is the technology built into it. No one wants to abuse their tools and this one has what they call REDLINK PLUS Intelligence that prevents damage and overheating. In summary, its a quality tool with additional features and a pleasure to operate. For someone looking to replace their air wrench this is a good choice for DIYers.

This little tool is a BEAST! I used it with a 5amp battery to build a 20×20 steel building. Every day I would use it for 300 or more bolts and it would only need a charge every 3rd day. I’ve used it to bust loose the lug nuts on my old jeep with ease. It has become my go to tool. The only thing that I don’t like is that it last longer than me!

This impact driver is fantastic. I had previously purchased two of these for my 2 sons. They spoke very highly of the product so I bought for myself. Was delivered on time and has incredible torque.

What can I say been very happy with all my Milwaukee cordless tools. It’s nice to have the spare charger that comes in this set and the 5ah battery is amazing. This 1/2 impact makes changing tires a breeze no need to drag out the old air hose.

I just spent half the day driving 1/2″x6″ lag screws into solid wood and could not be happier with impact wrench. Before that I fastened a few bolts on a deck but this was continuous. I have other impact wrenches and they all have their pros and cons. My pneumatic wrench needs my huge compressor nearby, and my corded wrench needs an extension cord. Neither is ideal when crawling around under a house, which I was doing today, for a few nuts/bolts here and there, fast-paced work, etc. I already have an M18 cordless set so the bare tool is another useful tool to get the job done quickly and effectively. The impact wrench is easy to grip, very easy to hold and use, straightforward, and the little LED is a very useful addition when working in low light such as under a house, in an attic, and I’m sure if you used it to yank the lug nuts off your truck tire in the middle of the desert at night it would be even more welcome. It’s extremely powerful, I use mine with the 4.0 red lithium battery and suggest it to for heavy or continuous use. Highly recommended, especially if you already have an M18 set and need it occasionally.

I have always used a pneumatic tool for 1/2 impact operations until I received this tool. now I don’t have air hoses in the way and can get into a tighter spot. One of the things that really stand out about this tool is its 4-mode drive control. Its switch is located at the base of the tool and allows you to select how much torque and rpm’s to the tool. Maximum torque is 220 ft-lbs and 2500 rpm’s, more than enough for for most jobs. An added feature is the 5 year warranty.

This tool is a good substitute for an air impact wrench – it saves the time and trouble of presurizing the compressor and dragging the hose – especially for a few quick bolts/nuts. Of course it does not run forever and it does not have as much torque as my air impact – but it is strong enough to remove lug nuts and do most other simple jobs. The small size is also handy in tight spots. Not dragging a hose inside the vehicle really makes it easier to get into those tight spaces and keep the car clean. Plus it has a light – which is great for under dash and removing seats. Note this is the tool only – so you need to have a battery. But the battery is interchangeable with other M18 tools – so it’s a nice addition if you have other Milwaukee M18 tools and batteries.
