The M18 FUEL 1/2 in. Compact Impact Wrench with Friction Ring is the Most Powerful tool in its class by delivering up to 220 ft./lbs. of torque in a compact design. REDLINK PLUS Intelligence is the most advanced electronic system on the market, preventing damage to the tool and battery caused by overloading or overheating. REDLITHIUM XC5.0(tm) Batteries deliver more work per charge and more work over the life of the pack than competitive batteries on the market. The 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL provides greater control over output speed and power for greater versatility by delivering 0 RPM to 900 RPM in Mode 1, 0 RPM to 1600 RPM in Mode 2 and 0 RPM to 2500 RPM in Mode 3. Auto Shut-Off Mode intelligently detects when the tool has impacted on a fastener for 1-second and automatically shuts the tool down, reducing the likelihood of overdriving and damaging materials.

Impact is light weight and easy to use. I like that it has more than one torque setting. I wish i would have waited for the new Mid-torque model that is more what I need. this will break lug nuts loose but does struggle some. I work on cars a lot and was wanting something to use besides my air impact or my 1/4 impact.

Love the size!!! This compact impact hammer can do almost anything. With 220ft lbs of torque, it’s a beast. I bought the larger one too for removing the really rusted/stuck hardware and am very pleased with both. Used these removing the rear axle from an 80s S10.

The size of this impact wrench works great for those tight areas on some cars. The power is superb and the battery really lasts. I completed the installation of an entire set of chassis/frame bracing on my race car and rotated two full sets of 4 tires/wheels on two cars with one battery and it barely used any power. At the time, buying the tool only and then buying the charger and battery separately saved me over $100 (shop around and compare as the kits aren’t always a good price depending on the sale/special offer). The friction ring takes some getting used to if you’re used to the typical ball detent, but after using it, I’ve come to like it just as well, if not better. In case you’re wondering, that gray clip looking thing on the side of the handle is exactly that, a belt clip (it can be removed or transferred to the other side of the unit with the removal of a couple screws).

Tool works great for taking lug nuts off and is small enough to do brake work. Sockets are stubborn to get off but should loosen up over time.

I have the Milwaukee 2767 high torque 1/2 in and that thing is a beast!! Unfortunately it is a lot bigger and doesn’t fit in every spot I need. I decided to get this one and love it. Has plenty of power and is so much lighter and smaller!! It is not too much bigger than my 1/4 impact. The mid torque is not as fast as the high torque, but can still take off an implement tire. Love all our Milwaukee tools!

Very powerful and compact head makes accessing tight spaces easy. Wish it came with the new rapid charger, but charge time is still only about 2 hours and with two batteries, one is always available in reserve.

This is honestly almost too much tool for me–I mostly got it to remove and drive lag bolts in wood. It scoffs at such work. You can drive a four inch lag bolt into a 4×4 without a second thought. It actually just plain snapped a couple of old rusty bolts off in the wood. Of course, once you’ve got it, you start having other uses for it–my lawnmower needed repair, and I had to get a big stubborn 15/16 bolt off the flywheel. It made short work of that–a couple impact raps and, ziiip, it was off.The driver is loaded with features, like an LED light that stays on a couple seconds after you’re done driving, a belt hook that can be swapped lefty or righty, and four different RPM settings (I haven’t gone past the lowest). The M18 batteries tell you how much life they have left, and don’t need to be run down before charging. Like I say, as a DIY guy, this is probably more tool than I actually need, but it’s super nice to use something professional grade for a change!
