The POWERSTATE Brushless Motor delivers up to 0-3,000 RPM with constant power output to drive screws faster. REDLINK PLUS Intelligence is the most advanced electronic system on the market, preventing damage to the tool and battery caused by overloading or overheating. For use with REDLITHIUM Compact Batteries or Extended Capacity Batteries (sold separately), which deliver more work per charge and more work over the life of the pack than competitive batteries on the market. The 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL provides greater control over output speed and power for greater versatility. Self-Tapping Screw Mode is designed to reduce walking when starting self-tapping screws as well as reduce overdriving, breaking and stripping out screws.

i bought this impact about two months ago. It’s a Very high quality tool: you can feel and hear the quality when you use it. Much quieter then regular impact and provides so much control over torque when driving even the smallest screws. Also plenty of torque for breaking loose those larger screws and bolts. I use it in my 28 year appliance repair business and it’s there best driver I’ve owned.

Hate the bit holder! This is the best drill that I have, but the one-bit bit holder forces me to remove a star. Milwaukee had a proven two-bit bit holder that worked, but decided to not to use it so I took the two-bit bit holder that I purchased almost nine years ago off of my old drill and put it on this one. This was an unforced error by Milwaukee. I need to switch between PH-2, PH-3 and a slotted bits regularly so I need a bit holder that can hold at least two bits. Why Milwaukee? Why?As for the drill itself, it is the same weight as the brushed drill, but much more powerful. The variable speed selector is nice. The #2 setting is what I use the majority of the time. The protective plastic shielding on the face is nice and is a nice improvement over the four thin plastic strips that were used on my old brushed drill.

This impact driver blows away every other impact I own and use. I have another non-surge Milwaukee Fuel 1/4” impact driver. It is powerful but LOUD. After using the Surge impact for a few weeks now, I notice I have more control and less vibration during my drives with the Surge. Okay, it might be slightly less fast than my other driver, but marginally and I would gladly trade that for the increased control and much less noise!! I’m a huge fan and look forward to years of hard work with my contracting business.

Great tool, I have experience with the standard 1/4″ hex impact from Milwaukee. This is much quieter and I felt like I was able to drive decking screws in faster and with more ease with this tool compared to the standard Milwaukee driver. This tool is also slightly smaller than the standard hex driver, making it a little easier to maneuver into tight spots.
