Being in Florida, I’m always being called out to install steel galvanized hurricane shutters for odd shaped windows & openings. I used to use a corded circular saw with a wax based lubricant to cut through the metal. OMG! What a difference using the Milwaukee metal cutting circular saw! It cut through the metal like nothing. Both length & width wise.

I bought this saw to put metal siding on an outbuilding that I had. I knew that the sheets were a challenge to cut because of the ribs in them and was not sure what to use. I thought I would use an abrasive wheel or turn a saw blade around backwards. After reading that abrasive wheels create heat that it burns the paint and causes rust that I didn’t want to do that. Also a friend of mine said that he had turned a saw blade backward but it threw metal shavings everywhere I didn’t want to go that route. We have one of these saws at work and cut a lot thicker stuff that metal siding so I thought I would give it a try. This thing cuts like a hot knife through butter. The edges are smooth and the metal is not hot. Also it is shielded so that it doesn’t throw chips everywhere. This saw is not all that big but it tackles a big job and made a difficult job a lot easier.

i have cut 1 inch mild steel plate with this saw! it will do it but to cut 12 inch length it will take 3 / 5amp hr batteries and will also melt & discolour the transparent cover it will cut anything less with ease

Great little saw, lightweight and versatile. Not sure if this saw is available in left and right handed styles, but I seem to have a left hand style. Not a huge deal, but could appreciate a right hand style. The LED is cool but feel it could be a ‘super bright white led’ to help with visual. I’d like to see a bit more lightweight metal in the blade guard. But I see the benefit in the lightweight, hard enough plastic cover. Overall, this thing really builds the efficiency in my workspace. Will cut through 3/8 plate, will call 1/8 plate all day.

Didn’t know I needed one till I saw and used for my self from a friend. I use this to cut rebar and lintels. I’m already invested in the M18 platform so it was worth the investment. You will find way to use it and much safer then cutting it with a grinder, with the circular saw it leave your material straight and clean.
