By utilizing Milwaukee’s M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT HD12.0 Battery, this saw delivers No Gas Headaches. It produces no fumes so it can be used indoors, it starts up instantly, it eliminates the need to mix gas and oil and there is no gas engine maintenance. The battery will also work on any of Milwaukee’s other 200+ M18 solutions. The M18 FUEL 9 in. Cut Off Saw also has ONE KEY integrated so users can wirelessly connect the tool with their smartphone to track and manage the tool. Cordless and powerful. You find all new reasons and places you use it over a corded or air powered grinder. The battery on the end isn’t as annoying as you’d think. I was reluctant to purchase one but I have multiple other Milwaukee tools which haven’t disappointed. Only weird part was the paddle switch it has to be all the way pressed in to start it which can be a little confusing at first. Over all good quality, powerful and useful same with all other Milwaukee products

In all fairness, I feel obliged to update my initial review and give credit where credit is due. Initially, I rated this one star, not because because of the tool itself (*****/excellent) but because of difficulty involved in finding a 4.5 inch safety guard for it. Forget about parts retailers…They boast about their “huge inventories” yet none of them had the part I needed online. Keep in mind that this is a common part for the latest version of the tool. Well, I called one retailer and fortunately, was shifted directly to Milwaukee. They were able to locate the part and send it to me, free of charge, no less (OK, in a little less than two weeks but no rush, no big deal). I will reiterate, however, that dealing with the various retailers was a dead end and a total waste of time. Looks like their websites and inventories are not up-to-date. Dealing directly with Milwaukee, on the other hand, was a breeze.

I would just like to point out that this tool is not intended to replace a corded grinder. It has good power, and does drain batteries pretty quick depending on use. it’s great for times you need a quick cut, but dont want to pull out cords. also, LET THE BLADE DO THE WORK! DON’T FORCE IT, AND YOUR TOOL WILL LAST MANY YEARS!

very well balanced and stable. vibration is well regulated. even the noise level is lower compared to my corded ones. the guard can be rotated on the fly, very smart! only wish the big red could come up with a quick release mechanism like the oscillating tool. kinda expensive for what it is. but it is the big red. so suck it up and get used to it, I guess. no more cords to worry about, a major plus for a thing like this. nice!

I have grown to love these grinders. This is the third one I’ve bought. (I have one for each type of grinding wheel I use). You still can’t lean into these things like a corded grinder, but for cut off wheels and grinding disc’s, they’re great. I get about 20 minutes of grinding out of a 5.0AH battery. I am a professional metal worker, so mine get used all the time.
