Built-in REDLINK PLUS Intelligence ensures optimal tool performance and provides overload protection to prevent damage to the tool and battery during heavy applications while still maintaining compatibility across the entire M18 system. The REDLITHIUM XC5.0 Battery Pack delivers more work per charger and more work over the life of the pack than competitors. Two weeks ago I used my battery operated drill and impact wrench to put up a 32′ x 14′ x 12′ high canopy shed. I was also using my tools working on a fence section to change it into a gate. never had to charge or switch batteries all day. I use this drill daily to make holes in walls for the pan drain and the temperature and pressure relief valve of water heaters it gets the job done with no problem. Paired with the right drill bit you can make a hole in anything. Worth every penny.

Have only had a chance to use this a few times for drilling ice fishing holes. On one trip I drilled around 50 holes in 6.5″ to 7″ of ice and still had power left (2 bars out of 4). Have yet to use it for property maintenance tasks.

I’m comparing this drill to my old 18 volt drill that used NiCad batteries. You really don’t appreciate this drill unless you had the old one. The power, run time and lightness are unbelievable. It sends 5/8” spade bits through 4X4s like there’s nothing there. Love this drill
