This is by far the most powerful cordless drill I have ever used. This replaced an older Milwaukee corded right angle drill that I’ve used for years, and I’m very pleased with it so far. The drill cuts holes and turns screws like a 14 lb. butter knife. I used it to drive some lags into some fence posts, and was amazed at how it out performed my trusty impact drill. The drill is heavy, but it’s actually lighter than competing drills of most other brands. It’s slimmer too, making it that much easier to get into tight spaces. And at 1,550 RPMs, it’s faster too. (Some times too fast… careful with that trigger). Ergonomically, it feels pretty good. I like the placement of the trigger, and the variety of positions the drill can be handled. And with a five year warranty, you know Milwaukee built this tool to last. Milwaukee has dozens of tools in the M18 family that accept the same battery and charger, so if there’s one platform to settle on, this is the one.

You’re probably reading reviews to find out if this is as good as the corded hole hawg. The answer is yes. It may even be better. This is the most powerful battery operated tool I have ever used. It definitely holds up to the super hawg reputation. To me the main benefit of a right angle drill is access in tight spaces. Ditching the cord makes that access even better and I think even if power is available, this is a better option. The kit comes with the drill, a handle (please use it, this drill will reverse the rotation of the earth if the bit gets stuck) 2 batteries and a rapid charger. I mostly install cable and drill through floors/floorboards and 2 dozen 3/4″ holes didn’t even knock the battery down one notch. I really like the dual gearbox so you get low speed or high speed both at max torque. The chuck is the real deal and I’m really glad they didn’t go keyless. There is storage on the body for the chuck key, but I’ll still loose it so I got a cord tether. Yes it’s heavy, but it’s not any heavier than it needs to be. This is an instant “can’t be without one” tool

The Milwaukee super hole hang is a most for anyone that regular needs a right angle drill. The drill is very well balanced and fits very ergonomically in your hands. It features a nice front hand hold to use when drilling. And also features a auxiliary side handle for use when using large bits. The run time with the battery is great. You could drill out a regular house on one and a half batteries so it could last the hole day with out the need to recharge them. The included bag is a nice heavy weight bag with plenty of room to store the bits that you regular use. It’s feature a mechanical clutch on low speed so if the bit binds it disengages the chuck and stops spinning to save you from injury

If you’re an electrician or plumber, this drill was made for you and this package has everything you need! Let’s start with the contractor bag. This is a heavy duty, wide mouth canvas carrying bag that can hold the drill, the side handle, both batteries and the rapid charger with no problem. It’s 23” L x 12” W x 12.5” D. There are six side pockets and a carrying strap that fastens diagonally across the bag. It has to be heavy duty because the drill isn’t called “Super Hawg” for nothing. With the battery and handle, this drill weighs just under 15 lbs. When you’re not working, you could use it to do curls to develop your biceps! :-)The drill is extremely powerful! In fact, it drills holes faster than its corded predecessor but is over 30% lighter. It can drill 100 2- 9/16” holes or 150 7/8” holes per charge. In order to drill holes of this size, the drill comes with a ½” keyed chuck and has a built-in storage slot just above the battery for it. There’s a built-in LED for the times when you’re working in a low-light environment. The motor is capable of 0 – 500 RPM in low gear and 0 – 1,550 RPM in high gear. There’s a gear selector switch on the bottom of the drill near the chuck and in addition to a top handle, there’s a side handle that can be used on either side of the drill. In this package, Milwaukee provides two M18, 6.0AH, REDLITHIUM™ XC5.0 batteries that provide up to 2.5X more run time and recharges than standard lithium and operate down to 0 degrees F. Each battery has a fuel gauge to display the amount of charge remaining. Also provided is a Rapid Charge charger, capable of charging both M12 and M18 batteries. The drill has a 5-year warranty and the batteries have a 3-year warranty. If you want a drill that can handle just about any job you can throw at it, this is the one to have!

Used the Hawg about twice a week. It performs flawlessly driving my bits through wood with ease. The tool feels good and control is effortless with the drill having the perfect balance to power ratio for me.

After 6 months of owning this tool ive got to say its a beast. I usually rough in 24 units in a day from hole sizes ranging from 1 3/8 – 6 inch. It goes through about 40 amp hours in total. A 12.0 can get me through about 2 units. It does get warm and that was during the summer heat at 100 degrees plus. The Milwaukee Super Hawg Gen 2 did exactly what it was supposed to do.

Great tool but heavy as it should so this will replace weight lifting at home.I find that high speed works best with hole saws and low with self feed bits and so far I haven’t gotten stuck or twisted a wrist and expect that the clutch will do it’s work if it happens.I drill for plumbing rough in and had done a home so far with this tool.

We use it to raise and lower a 60’ grain auger. Plenty of power for the job and way better than doing it by hand.

Pros: powerful (use to drill 2 foot deep holes 3 inches wide. It’s power is super!!! You can feel it pulling with the auger. Cons: expensive, bad trigger ( have to hit it a few times to get it started.) battery killer.

I use to drill 2-9/16” holes in studs as well as use to cut with 5-1/2” hole saw. Worked great, have used corded hole hawg for 30 years.

The Milwaukee 1/2″ Right Angle Drill Kit is an excellent product. The Hawg isn’t a lightweight tool though, weighing just under 15 lbs without a battery and measures, 20.5 in length, 7.3 in height, 3.8 in width. Aside from the weight factor it’s a power Hawg made to take on any task. Oh, let’s not forget the very bright LED light at the bottom, below the trigger forward of the control switch, which lets you see your work. This Drill comes with two M18 Redlithium High Output XC6.0 batteries, M18 & M12 rapid charger, side handle, chuck key and a durable contractor bag. The Chuck is cleverly and securely mounted at the bottom just forwarded of the battery compartment. The Super Hawg has two speeds High (0-1550)/Low (0-500). This Hawg can support Steel twist bits, high 5/16″, low 1/2″, Wood bits, Auger bits and Ship Auger bits high/low 1-1/2″, Selfeed bit, high 2-9/16 “, low 4-5/8″, Hole Saw, high 4″ and low 6”. The Control Switch has three positions, Forward, Reverse and Lock. When shifting speeds always make sure the tool is stopped to avoid damaging it. Milwaukee offers a limited 5-year warranty from the original date of purchase against materials and workmanship.

Wow! What a powerful drill ! I really like this right angle drill . This drill doesn’t stress in hard jobs. It is a very strong high quality tool, solidly built. It runs as fast as my corded drill and I don’t have to lug around an extension or generator. The brushless motor will last a long time. Having two speeds is great because it gives me more control when drilling or cutting holes. It comes with a high output Red Lithium battery which lasts. Also has a light to help you see what your drilling. Milwaukee makes excellent tools.

10/10 Very SkookumFirst year plumbing apprnetice roughing in residential jobs, on a 6.0 she lasts all day and i have never found a hole too big or too deep that it can’t chooch right through.

This drill can last all day… When it comes to holes smaller than 3 inches. After three inches you may get about 30 holes at most. However when your running water pipe and you have to drill out 15 units in a day its really nice to slap on a 9.0 battery not have to worry about running extension cords everywhere you go.

A cordless version of the Super Hawg Right Angle Drill, this model provides the functionality of the corded version, without being tethered to a source of power. Powered by the ubiquitous M18 Fuel battery (two 6.0 Amp Hour batteries are supplied), this will be a productive addition for those already invested in the M18 Fuel product line. This model (2089-20) is provided with a keyed chuck, and a (metal) clip is provided for on-tool storage. A model is offered (2811-20) which is provided with the Quick-Lok chuck. The supplied battery charger will charge t he M18 Fuel batteries, as well as the M12 batteries, should you have tools using that power source. An extension handle is supplied which can be attached to either side of the drill motor, to counter the reaction force, should the drill bit jam in the work. A carry bag is provided for the drill motor, batteries, charger and extension handle. The brushless motor appears to have the same power/torque as the corded version and does not exhibit the delay common to some brushless tools. A selector is provided to change between speed ranges (0-500 rpm and 0-1550 rpm), depending upon the bit size, type and material being drilled. The tool incorporates a clutch mechanism when in the slow speed (high torque) range to minimize reaction from a jammed bit. While not a lightweight (almost 15 pounds), the tool is well balanced and provided with a comfortable grip on the nose of the tool. Depending upon the drill type used and material being penetrated, the tool is rated up to a maximum of a 6-1/4 inch diameter hole. A five (5) year warranty is provided for the tool while the battery comes with a three (3) year warranty. The tool is “Red Link” capable, if you or your company is employing that system of tool tracking. The tool arrived with the batteries showing “one bar”, and charged to full charge in less than one (1) hour. The tool is reversible (and lockable) by means of the provided control switch, and speed is variable, controlled by the spring loaded trigger. When tested using a 2 – 9/16 inch carbide toothed hole saw, the Super Hawg quickly bored holes through a 2 X 4, including a section with a knot and a section with three (3) nails driven though (see photos). Although the user’s manual makes reference to a “Hammer Drill Mode” on Page 5, no such function appeared to be present, so I will assume that is a typo in the manual. This tool will be a favorite of electricians and plumbers alike, where large holes have to be bored and there is no power source handy for corded tools. The manufacturer claims that 100 2-9/16 inch holes can be bored on one charge. That coupled with the relatively fast recharge time and ease in carrying an extra battery or two, should allow for a full day’s of work.
