The cordless string trimmer is made up of 2 components the M18 FUEL Power Head w/ QUIK-LOK and QUIK-LOK String Trimmer Attachment. This M18 FUEL Power Head, part of the QUIK-LOK Attachment System, is compatible with multiple attachments such as an Edger, Articulating Hedge Trimmer, and Pole Saw attachment. This gives users the ability to quickly swap out attachments on a single Power Head, delivering ultimate versatility and a lower cost of ownership. The POWERSTATE Brushless Motor delivers up to 6,200 RPM with up to a 16 cutting swath, and gives you the power to maintain speed in demanding applications without bogging down. The motor is positioned in the rear of the trimmer to provide the best combination of power, balance, and maneuverability. REDLINK PLUS intelligence ensures maximum performance while protecting from overload, overheating and over discharge. The Milwaukee M18 REDLITHIUM XC 5.0 Ah Battery Pack delivers up to 2.5X more runtime, 20% more power and 2X more recharges than standard lithium-ion batteries. Very happy with this trimmer. Balanced well and easy to use. I bought this for my wife to use in the garden area which has a lot of ground. It trims grass and weeds with ease. We have our bigger trimmers for bigger stuff like thick brush around the farm. You can use this Milwaukee trimmer to cut thick stuff but I don’t think it was made for that. We used my 12ah battery for longer run time and power but you can use any battery. It feeds out line very smoothly with just a bump on the trim head. Reloading line with no tools is a plus. Don’t have to remove or open the trim head to reload line. Just feed line through the holes, make sure line is equal on both sides of trim head and wind the reloader by hand. We are getting the pole saw attachment this morning which is another great feature about this tool. You can swap the head to accommodate what your needs are. Built super solid! I really recommend this to anyone looking for a cordless trimmer. A lil pricey, but well worth the cost for a tool that can more than trim.
