The Milwaukee M18 FUEL String Trimmer Kit with QUIK-LOK, designed for landscape maintenance professionals, provides users with the power to clear thick brush, reaches full throttle in under 1-second and features a balanced design which increases user control. The cordless string trimmer is made up of 2 components the M18 FUEL Power Head with QUIK-LOK and QUIK-LOK String Trimmer Attachment. This M18 FUEL Power Head, part of the QUIK-LOK Attachment System, is compatible with multiple attachments such as an Edger, Articulating Hedge Trimmer and Pole Saw attachment. This gives users the ability to quickly swap out attachments on a single Power Head, delivering ultimate versatility and a lower cost of ownership. The POWERSTATE Brushless Motor delivers up to 6,200 RPM with up to a 16 cutting swath and gives you the power to maintain speed in demanding applications without bogging down. The motor is positioned in the rear of the trimmer to provide the best combination of power, balance and maneuverability. REDLINK PLUS intelligence ensures maximum performance while protecting from overload, overheating and over discharge.

1st I’m a pro lawn guy. I use echo weedeaters and although they are tough they are finiky- carburators, fuel and air filters, oil to gas ratios jeez Louise I have more important things to do. This Milwaukee trimmer has really simplified my operation. Battery life is decent but I always have another on the charger in my truck. It’s powerful and make short work of edging and weed whacking. I really like that the drive motor is not on the head of the trimmer and that once I pull the trigger there is no lag in operation. They are a bit pricey but I plan on introducing another one into my business this coming season. You guys and gals who do your own lawn- buy it,to the pros out there you can’t go wrong- buy an additional battery.

Wanted to try an electric model instead of our usual gas one. So far I like the ease of starting it, but have an extra battery so that we can continue using it longer than 1 hr. ( for each battery,). I haven’t tried putting the string in so that is another question. It is very easy to use and does a great job. So we will see…..

I have had this for three weeks and used it twice mostly to trim Asiatic Jasmine ground cover, a tough vegetation. The trimmer handles this duty with ease as it quite powerful but quiet at the same time. It is easy to use, balanced well (not light, though) especially good with the optional shoulder strap. The battery did not need a charge after both uses (approx 30 minutes each) but I charged it anyway in about 30 or 40 minutes. Another plus is a convenient mounting hole on the back to receive a mounting screw. I will likely purchase the attaching hedge trimmer later. I recommend the M18 trimmer.

It’s insane how well this trimmer works. With the included 8 AH battery in the kit I get all the trimming done around my 2 acre property. I use it on both high or low speed as I want. It also lasts a long time using the batteries from my tools.

The kit says it comes with a rapid charger, I got a standard charger. I like the string trimmer but the rapid charger is misleading. Will HD swap chargers? Considering returning, the standard charger takes a long time charging an 8 amp battery.
