I really like my fuel compact bandsaw, cuts really smooth and straight with the new bandsaw blades Milwaukee came out with. My Co-workers notice the difference in weight and speed, and decided to buy one.

This is a really impressive Bandsaw kit. The cordless bandsaw is solid, yet lightweight. The high quality of the build is evident. I only wish that I had more pipe that needed cutting today. The 10TPI blade that is included cut smoothly, quickly, and didn’t require filing after the cut. The blade speed is variable, controlled by the trigger. There is an LED work light that comes on when the trigger is pulled. This is a kit. It includes a large carrying bag which I prefer over hard cases. The two batteries are of a new (to me) design and are rapid charge type. The dual charger replaces my existing one as it is made for the newer rapid charge batteries, while being backward compatible with earlier Lithium-Ion Milwaukee batteries. I noticed that the new batteries carry a two-year warranty whereas my older batteries have a three-year warranty. The new batteries were not charged upon arrival. However, when charged with the new Rapid Charger, it seemed like 20 minutes to full charge. However, I didn’t time it so I could be off a bit on that.

Excellent, strong, battery powered bandsaw. Cordless saws always seemed to be underpowered to me, but this brushless bandsaw is not – had plenty of power to cut through steel bar. Important information: If you are looking to order blades, the Milwaukee “compact bandsaw” use 35-3/8″ long x 1/2″ inch blades. They sell them up to 24 tpi which is more useful for thinner wall pipe and things like strut and conduit. Get the 24 tpi blade! – thick metal blade will get torn up trying to cut thin stuff. It comes with one blade (labelled “extreme thick metal”) that I measured out as 9.5 tpi (they call it 8-10 tpi) which is really meant for thicker things – roughly 1/4 of an inch and thicker. I also measured the size of the throat – they give the spec as 3-1/4″ wide and 3-1/4″ deep. I measure it more like 3-3/8″ wide and about 3-1/2″ deep. Which means it can cut pipe smaller than 3″ (but not 3″ ). And not a 4×4 piece of lumber (this isn’t the right saw for that anyway).Love the LED lights that help illuminate the work – you can never have too much light, especially right where you are working.

A fantastic saw. I highly recommend it to anyone very lite and easy to use. The only downside is im still waiting on the reamer attachment for the saw as home depot still doesn’t have them.

Works great as predicted. Blade changing is quick and simple, which is good because I changed them out quite frequently due to them dulling very fast. Very happy with saw, disappointed with blades.

It is an awesome tool, it’s lighter than the old version, cuts metal and pipes quicker. The only thing that I haven’t get used to the secure button, it is kind of tricky to press the secure button and then pull the trigger

This is my first bandsaw and am truly impressed. Usually I bust out the old angle grinder or reciprocating saw when it’s time to cut metal, but this is a game changer. It is easy to use and relatively light for what it is. The cuts are WAY cleaner and much more accurate. Cuts through aluminum angle like butter. Rebar and unistrut are equally easy to cut. The stated cut capacity is 3-1/4, but I was not able to test this limit due to a lack of material. Included with the kit is one “extreme thick metal” blade with 8/10 TPI. An assortment of replacement blades are available and I will be purchasing some soon. The tool is very easy to control during cutting and it did not kick back once the cutting started. It is very important to note that you should NOT start cutting until the blade has reached full speed. This is noted in the manual. There’s an adjustable shoe which is nice, but I found it somewhat difficult to manipulate it’s button while wearing gloves – would be nice if the button had some more surface area to it. On the flip side, the trigger and safety are very easy to use while wearing gloves. And finally, the batteries. The 3.0Ah batteries are nice to have. Their reduced size and footprint help keep this tool’s weight manageable. Larger batteries fit nicely, at the expense of some added weight.

Milwaukee bandsaw comes in a box that states: “Driven to outperform”, “fastest cutting”, “largest capacity”, “lightweight”; although I seldom take any confidence in statements on packaging of tools I acquire, I will confess, this Milwaukee tool has met everyone of those claims!I’ll start out mentioning that I have a corded Milwaukee deep-cut bandsaw that has served me very well over the years, but it is a hunk of a tool to tote around not to mention cumbersome to work with on small cuts. I jumped right on the the M18 brushless version when I saw it and confess I have no regrets what-so-ever. In fact I haven’t pulled out my corded Milwaukee since getting the cordless M18.Milwaukee dressed this tool up nicely including a pair of 3.0 Ah M18 batteries and a great gear bag to store everything in. Then they upped the package including the rapid charger that will charge the M12 as batteries too.The saw is very easy to handle – yes, one-handed! It is light but not fragile. The trigger control is super smooth and easy to control the brushless motor of the saw.Putting the saw to work, I do mostly rigid conduit cutting and some angle iron for bracing and there is a definite difference cutting the rigid conduit pipe using the M18 bandsaw against the corded tool. The M18 just seems to do the work so much easier than my corded saw, part of it because the M18 is lighter, but the control of the M18 is also better.Other brags on the Milwaukee is the blade brushes that sweep filings from the blade keeping the saw track clean. I also appreciate the built-in light and the ladder hook. The M18 comes with a 10 TPI blade which is perfect for my work.I tell everyone I work with that this is the saw to upgrade to.

Great porta-band in my opinion. The blade that came with the tool is nice for conduit. But with strut it just doesn’t cut it fast or nice at all. Had to purchase the fine tooth blades to help speed things up. Very light and the hook is a nice feature as well.

Love the tool but the safety button that you need to press every single time you want to use the tool makes it a difficult one handed job. Most of the time I use this saw I only have one have one hand available to do so. With they would make the safety button optional.

Great tool. I love it. If I could change one thing would be the safety button. Uncomfortable position of it.

The Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Compact Bandsaw Kit with Two 3.0 Ah High Output Batteries is a real lifesaver.I didn’t know such a saw existed until a co-worker pulled one out to cut a length of pipe. When I saw how quickly and cleanly it cut through that steel I knew I needed to add one to my arsenal. This is the latest improvement to the one I fell in love with. It is 2.6 pounds lighter than its predecessor which is significant when working from a ladder. The built-in hook for hanging is one of the simple upgrades that means a lot to the guy in the field. When I need to free my hands it’s easier to find a place to hang it rather handing it down the guy on the ground. While compatible with all of the M18 batteries, it includes two of the high output compact batteries that give similar runtime to its older brother without the weight and mass. Again, something that means a lot to the guy working from a ladder and/or over his head.Last, but not least, the tool-free blade replacement is quick and simple to avoid the frustration of having to bust out your tools and waste 15 minutes on a job to replace a worn or busted blade.

This M18 Fuel compact bandsaw is powerful and loaded with user friendly features. The trigger is easy to control the cutting speed. The LED light in the throat is well placed and works perfectly. Blade installation is fast and easy. This model included a blade. They use a 35 3/8″ blade and are available in several tooth count options for different applications. The included 3.0 HO batteries are compact, but seem to last well. The included charger is a rapid charger and it fully charged my batteries in 30 minutes. It also wi!l charge M12 batteries. You can count on Milwaukee to deliver pro quality tools.
