This is one powerful tool. You have to fire up your smartphone to activate it, along with creating an account with Milwaukee. Very good quality. I installed a hanging shelf in the pole barn and had to drive 2.5″ lag screws into the rafters. I had it on low, there are 4 settings, and it drove them with ease. I thought it was slow till I saw the different speeds. The battery has a meter, push the button and it will be full with 4 lights. It is heavy, but very well built. Felt the quality in it. I had it on a 10 foot ladder and it fell off onto the cement. Picked it back up and went back to work. Didn’t even see any issues with the drop.

This impact is a MUST HAVE for the professional tradesman or homeowner! If your looking for a Durable impact that is RAW POWER then this is the impact for you!! I’ve used it on a 1.5 inch paddle bit right into a tree stump on a 3.0Ah XC battery and it dug right in and bored the hole right out!

“This is the right tool for the job!” That’s what I thought after using this tool to work on my snowblower’s impeller. I needed to attach an extension with self-tapping screws and had previously tried with my cordless drill, but wasn’t able to get done. The compact size of this unit coupled with its power, made the job something that I could handle without having to curse the snowblower designers. Getting my drill around the auger and into the area where the impeller is installed had me trying to get into positions that my body didn’t like – for days! The smaller size of the impact driver made it much easier to get in a tight spot. Reading the specs. didn’t make me appreciate just how compact it is but take a peek at the picture I’ve attached and see for yourself. When researching this impact driver, I learned that it is the fastest and most compact tool in its class and has 30% faster driving speed (more power!!!). There’s a smartphone application that allows you to customize how the tool works. For example, for self-tapping screws, you enter the screw diameter and length, the type of screw head and size (8, 10, 12, etc.) and the driver will stop when it senses that the screw is seated. That can save damage to the fastener and prolong the life of the driver. You can save your customizations in a library for future use too!The application also lets you manage the tool in another way – if you have workers that use your tools and they report this as being lost, you can remotely disable it! Since this scenario doesn’t apply to me, I don’t know if I’ll use it but it’s nice to know that it exists.I had no problem with battery life on my other Milwaukee tools and don’t anticipate a problem with this one. Because it’s a “smart” tool, it protects itself from overloads and overheating. The LED that lights the work area was greatly appreciated when I was trying to drive in those self-tapping screws and didn’t have to try to fasten a flashlight to the auger somehow! This is an awesome tool and who deserves it more than you? This would be an outstanding Holiday gift!

This Tool works very well and has lots of power for it’s small size and weight. The One-Key app on the other hand is pretty clunky and not very intuitive. I could not get the app to work, but I finally figured out that you MUST have the location enabled, I was able to get the App to work on both android and I-phone. It will not work with a tablet. You can access some of the features via the Milwaukee website on tablet and PC’s. The instructions that come with the tool say almost nothing about how to work the app and I still have yet to figure out what the “precision mode” is or what it does. This app is mostly geared toward large companies that have lots of tools to keep track of and does a pretty good job of that. But for a single user that just wants to control the tool it is too time consuming, and has a fair amount of error screens pop up, without really letting you know what you might have done wrong. The factory presets on the tool work quite well, #1 setting gives you about 45 ft lbs of tightening, #2 is about 60 ft lbs, #3 is about 115 ft lbs and #4 is about 150 ft lbs, which is quite impressive considering the tool head is only about 4 3/4″ long and about 2 1/4″ in diameter and the whole tool with the larger 5.0 AH battery only weighs a little under 4 lbs. The driver fits you hand nicely and has a belt clip on one side and a bit holder on the other. I would prefer that the bit hold would have had more rounded edges as it is a little sharp. The light is quite bright and pointed in a good direction. The button that controls the modes is a little small and difficult to push especially with glove on. The app lets you see where the tool is but only if there is a phone with the One-Key app on it within the tools bluetooth range. The bluetooth is controlled by a coin cell battery under a screw on cover under the 18v battery. With the app you can lock the tool, assign it to different people and job sites, control the settings for each mode button, control the motor RPM, the ramp up speed, the light brightness and duration. Milwaukee had added a Beta feature that will let you know it the tool leaves the area you have assigned it too. All in all a excellent tool with good ergonomics and lots of features, but an app that is hard to navigate an almost no instructions on how to use it. Love the tool, Dislike the app

Fantastic tool! Spins screws in fast, honks them in as tight as needed, and the battery lasts all day.I’ve set a lot of screws with power drills. This works but is a compromise between speed to sink the length of the screw and torque to set it snug. An impact driver does it better. The motor spins fast when the screw is going easy. When it bottoms the impact driver switches to an “impact” mode which makes high torque with a low rotation speed. Turning maybe 1/8 turn per impact you can watch your screw head come flush and stop when just right. This model is “brushless”. Brushes waste energy and then wear out. Brushless is modestly more efficient. But they also use a “REDLINK” micro-brain to adjust the electricity to the power the job actually needs, gaining even more battery life. And these two 5A batteries are massive energy stores. You should almost never run-down a battery. Compact for tight spaces. Nice light! Easy bit-change. Big solid belt-clip and spare-bit holder. Absolutely solid Milwaukee construction. Built to work hard all day and last for many years. Will surely out-live me, just like some older Milwaukee tools I’ve picked-up from retired workmen or their estate sales. This product number includes the heavy duty charger for both M12 and M18 batteries, two high-energy M18 batteries, and a really nice hardshell tool case. I am not fond of the mode control. It is a small rubber button which is hard to work with gloves or cold fingers. Takes a hard press and has no “click”. Also there is no clue what four lights really mean to tool settings. I would really prefer old-fashioned large turn or slide speed and torque controls. It also includes “ONE-KEY”, Milwaukee’s “cloud interface”. You can talk to the tool with your cellphone, and the app also communicates with Milwaukee’s server. Large organizations can benefit from complete accurate inventory of tools, locations, users. Users can adjust settings of the tool, and can track the location of their tool (if anybody in the area is running the ONE-KEY app). Stolen tools can be disabled within the app (by their registered owners). However the older Android I take to jobsites hardly-ever connected with the tool, giving different errors or no error message at all. When it did connect it offered very limited control of this tool’s modes (I understand other tools have more inputs). On my phone many of the screens are much larger than they need to be. On both phone and desktop the interface actions are inconsistent (click here? click there? slide down?). It also demands a long list of Permissions, and if you keep a lean Android the battery drain is noticeable. ONE-KEY appears to have enormous potential for tool management. And Milwaukee is actively upgrading the programming. At present (Dec 2018) it still has room for improvement. There is a “coin cell” shown in the ONE-KEY interface but not mentioned in the owners manual. Where? I finally found it: remove the big battery, there is a 2-screw hatch. I’m proud to be using this tool.

Milwaukee makes some of the finest hand tools and power tools on the market and this M18 brushless cordless 1/4″ hex impact driver is no different. It out performs another named brand brush impact driver that I own in torque, quietness, and is smaller in size. This M18 1/4″ impact driver is a must for the do-it-yourselfer and professionals. This comes with a hard case, two 2.0AH batteries and a charger. I get plenty of use out of this impact driver as I have many projects around my property.

The digital age has reached our power tools! There’s an app that you can use to locate this tool. You can also inventory the tool and assign it to people if you’re using it for a business. If the tool is missing, you can manage it remotely by disabling it! You can also configure your favorite settings to use with this Milwaukee tools and others. The tool itself works great. The shorter body makes it easier to work in tight spaces. Having 2 batteries and a charger means that the tool won’t quit!

This M18 impact driver really has a lot of torque and power. I actually had to set it on lower speeds to keep from stripping the deck screws I was driving with it. The battery lasts a long time. I was driving a lot of deck screws and it barely made a dent in the battery charge. The battery power meter is a nice feature that lets you see your charge level. It has a lot of power for a small drill, it gets into small spaces, and it isn’t too heavy to use all day. Unfortunately, the One Key tool tracking app is not compatible with my older smart phone so I cannot use that function. I don’t care for the belt clip but it is nice that it can be removed. The only odd thing about this drill is the spare bit retainer is just a box tacked onto the side as if they forgot they needed it; it would be better if it was integrated into the drill housing.

This is a review for the Milwaukee M18 FUEL ONE-KEY 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 1/4 in. Hex Impact Driver Kit with(2) 5.0Ah Batteries with Hard Case. I have had this for a month or so just itching for time to play, then as in all thing I got exactly what I wished for, a giant wind storm that wreaked havoc. As in all new tools I always charge the batteries to full capacity so they were ready to go out and put back on a ton of aluminum siding on the pole barn. I grabbed a box of self taping 1 1/2″ hex head screws with rubber washers and went to work. This tool is heavier with the big battery but yet more compact in size to get into tighter spaces. It has four torque settings and I never had to move this past #2 it’s that powerful. I think between the sides and the roof I almost finished off that box of 100 and still showed half battery life to go.This comes in the Milwaukee hard case and not the soft case if that makes a huge difference in what you prefer. Belt clip included as well as the standard fast snap hex interchangeable universal chuck. Now the feature item on this I have not yet played with and am not sure if I will. This is the ONE TASK blue tooth enabled feature. This allows you to do all kinds of things I’m not ready to play with yet like tracking, programming, customize, e.g. On top of all of what this has going is the second huge 5.0 amp battery, brushless and quieter motor, worklight and more. Give me another couple months and get the app downloaded and maybe I’ll be up to speed come time to do some heavy deck and fencing work when the weather improves. Another win from our friends at Milwaukee….

Love this tool!!! With the ability to change settings to fit whatever task I have, it frilly is amazing! Not many 1/4” impacts can keep up with the workload that metal work needs but this one gets the job done. You won’t be disappointed

Milwaukee has made another great tool! This 1/4 inch impact is compact, but packs ALOT of punch. I had no problems driving 8 inch lag screws to hang a barn style door. It feels balenced and comfortable to use. The torque especially at lower speeds is amazing thanks to Milwaukee’s brushless motor design. The trigger feels consistent throughout it’s range. The One Key allows you to disable the impact wirelessly to keep unwanted users from using your tool. Custom drive speeds can also be set with one key. The hard case that this kit comes with provides a place for a padlock for added security.

This is one of the handiest power tools ever. Milwaukee has such a wide range of bits for this, I find myself reaching for it, just about every time I work on something. Not just for driving fasteners, but for removing/installing the skid plate on my truck, so that can change the oil and filter. My chainsaws have some long screws that need to be removed for maintenance, this save a lot of time. It’s always in my bag when going out to make repairs here or my son’s place. It’s very well built and powerful when you need it to be. I like the spare bit holder on the side too. It’s nice to have bits handy, without having to dig through your pocket or tool box for another one. Standing on a ladder makes you appreciate that little holder even more. It uses the popular M18 battery system that operates so many other tools. These tools have a well established reputation in the workplace. They have surely made my life easier. This one has the One-Key feature that is especially useful in the business world. It allows you to easily track who has it and where. It’s a great inventory tool. With all of that, you can also change the settings to better suit the application of different fasteners, ramp up speed and maximum speed. These settings are helpful timesavers, especially if you’re using the same fasteners in the same material repeatedly. There are tons of tips and ideas on-line that gave me ideas I didn’t think about. It’s very well built and is going to help me in so many ways.

M18 FUEL ONE-KEY 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 1/4 in. Hex Impact Driver Kit with(2) 5.0Ah Batteries, Hard Case (Kit 2857-22)Foremost– this kit comes with two 5.0 Ah batteries. That is really unusual to get two substantial batteries. Most kits come with 1 or 2 Ah batteries. The footprint of the battery is appreciably smaller than the same Ah orange HD house-brand. However, the battery has a looser or sloppier fit on the drill than the orange. As for the tool– it is the more recent Milwaukee brushless impact driver. The weight is nearly 1 pound lighter than my orange HD house-brand brushless oil driver. The trigger is about 1 inch closer to the level of the chuck– which means your finger is closer to the work– which I think is a good thing. The trigger has an even pull which means you can engage at a very slow turn. Under low rpm driving a large lag, there was no wobble and the ratchet jump was very minimal– that really saves on wrist fatigue. The chuck has a true spin– no wobble– which is a problem with some of the less expensive drills/drivers. The motor is one of the quieter motors at low and high speeds. The speed switch is a push button on the top side of the battery connection zone. I have to say I like my other driver with a manual slide switch right on top of the motor. One really nice feature is the back-side anchor-slot for a safety lanyard. This is really nice when working on ladders. A lanyard is not supplied, but a ring with a hockey lace works. Someone was thinking when they added this feature. There is also the pre-mounted belt clip. There is only one under-chuck LED, which a very bright, but not as nice as the orange brand with three LEDs lighting the entire workspace. This particular set has the “One-Key” wireless tracking feature– which I will probably never use, but could be very useful when working on a job with many independents. (Or just use a permanent marker.) The included charger works for the 18v and 12v batteries. I found I needed to give the 18v battery a firm push to make contact. If you can find this kit (with that number)– buy it. It is a very good value for the driver with One-Key and the two 5.0 Ah batteries. The hard case is also a very nice addition– but there is no extra rooms for bits.
