I actually this from Home Depot recently and have had some time to use it on a few of my jobs.I already own the DeWalt cordless screwgun which is a great tool and I’m glad to own it and use it. This Milwaukee is even better and I’m even more happy to own and use it. The Milwaukee’s auto start feature is probably the single most defining difference that makes me prefer the Milwaukee screwgun. I don’t own the collated attachment for the Milwaukee but I do own one for the DeWalt and I have no complaints at all about it or it’s performance. I do think the DeWalt nose cone is more well constructed with it’s bayonet style mounting attachment that locks on to the tool. The Milwaukee nose cone is held in place with ball detention but seems to have a more fine depth adjustment. Overall the milwaukee is larger, and heavier than the DeWalt and it doesn’t quite feel as good in my hand but still feels good to hold for extended use. Where it really shines for me is the torque, really high rpm, very quiet operation, auto start (silent between driving), immediate spin up while driving feels just as fast as a constant spinning motor to me and the fine depth adjustments work great. I get about 10 decibels lower fo a reading with he Milwaukee than the dewalt. I’m happy to sacrifice a little size and weight for all of that. I mostly use this one for setting wood screws rather than drywall application but am looking forward to using it for my next drywall project with the silent on and auto start feature. The slightly longer length is not a problem for me since it makes it easier for me to judge the angle of the gun against the work surface and get a more perpendicular drive into the surface. I mostly use the gun with torx drive screws and it works well. I just used it to drive #8 x 1-1/4” (4.0 x 30mm) wood screws into phenolic resin glued exterior grade A-C-X plywood in order to fasten a double layer of the material together. I drove 964 fasteners into the plywood, then in a single day, removed them and transported the project for a performance where we re-installed and de-installed it again. It seemed to take the gun about :45 minutes for each part of the screwing process and would use 2 out of the 4 bars on the battery gauge lights regardless of whether I was removing or installing fasteners. It’s lightning fast and had no problem setting screws consistently in the dense plywood. This is one of My first M-18 tools and am happy with the battery platform. I own almost every major 18v and 12v platform and have Bosch as my personal favorite. The M18/M12 charger is fast and can charge both 18 and 12 voltage batteries. The tool comes with a well constructed Milwaukee fuel bag as well. The belt clip was already attached to the tool from factory for a right handed user but can easily be moved to the other side with a t-15 torx driver. I hope this review is helpful.

This is a really nice drywall screw gun for which you can find plenty of reviews online; so I’ll focus on this particular kit. The 2.0 Ah batteries included use M18’s most compact/lightweight form factor and will provide ample runtime with the screw gun; so if you do not absolutely require the longer runtime (and additional heft) of XC batteries, this kit is a pretty good value. The included charger accommodates both M18 and M12 batteries, which is a pretty handy thing if (like me) you already have a few (or a lot) of M12 tools. Note that the charger does not do parallel charging of M18 and M12 batteries; but, if two batteries are plugged in, it will automatically cut over to charging the M12 battery after the M18 one is fully charged.

Good

There is to much slack in the bearing or motor that turns the bits and on cheaper screws that have a little bit of wiggle they will turn side ways on u, I operated side by side with a dewalt for the past couple months every day and it’s a great gun just make sure u buy good screws.

Don’t like the tip as much as a couple other guns I’ve used. Seemed to tear the paper more often. Never really used the cordless So that pwas very nice. Wish the gun was slightly smaller. Also found a much better price elsewhere so likely will return.

I got this kit for clearance price of $189 at my local Home Depot. Worth every nickel. Well built tool of high quality materials and excellent fit and finish. Very lightweight and easy to handle. Sinks the screws perfectly every time after adjusting the initial depth of drive, which was simple. I’m just a handy man not a pro drywaller or contractor and man did this make hanging drywall a ton easier. Made me look like a pro and felt like one too!
