This Milwaukee M18 18-VOLT 15-TON LITHIUM-ION CORDLESS FORCE LOGIC UTILITY CRIMPER WITH 2-BATTERIES, CHARGER TOOL BAG is everything needed to crimp, in a portable kit, that delivers power and versatility. Easy to assemble, two high output batteries, and that precision tool, once you pick it up, and use it, you know it is durable, well built, and powerful Like my other M18 equipment, the two Red Lithium Ion Batteries, deliver, time and time again. The Tote is quite a status symbol on the job site, too!!!

This tool has been instrumental in crimping old t800 legs to some of the newer vehicles we had procured. I am amazed at the efficiency of this tool.

This is way bigger in real life than what is shown in the pictures; it’s ENORMOUS! This thing will crimp literally ANY thickness wire with the appropriate die, even 8/0AWG wire and bigger if you can find it. The opening is so large that it’s designed to crimp two power lines at the same time in one smooth, controlled action. No, it’s not so fast that you can pinch your fingers, but common sense isn’t so common these days. The kit comes with a really nice heavy-duty bag which I’m sure will last several lifetimes. It has many pockets, carry handles, sling, hooks, etc. Thing thing is the ultimate tool for linemen, subway wiring crews, industrial electricians or even car audio specialists which use extremely thick cable these days. The dies release smoothly and the top is flipped open with the simple push of a pin. The tool IS heavy, but it’s not something that can be made lighter unfortunately; strength is far more important and I’m willing to bet there are heavier ones out there. The head can be rotated 360 degrees for ease of use and as with most Milwaukee tools, it also has a 12v charger in addition to the 18v which takes up less plugs on the extension, able to charge all your smaller tools. The vehicle adapter and inverter for the charger works wonderfully; keep this puppy ready to go as you drive! 1) 2a.h. and 1) 5a.h. battery included which I don’t see how one could ever run out of juice. This tool is fully equipped with Milwaukee’s One-Key bluetooth security feature; it can still be used without, though this is certainly not something you want stolen. A large locking caribiner is included for high-up work. I’m usually very straightforward on the negatives, but this tool simply has no cons.

This review is for M18 18-Volt 15-Ton Lithium-Ion Cordless FORCE LOGIC Utility Crimper with 2-Batteries, Charger Tool Bag (2879-22). I have been using Milwaukee’s power tools for years. I am always happy with their performance and reliability. I have used tools from other leading brands but almost always go back to Milwaukee. As for this beauty you get what you pay for. Much lighter than the gas ones but equally powerful. I am happy with what I’ve got.

Ever wonder what tool you would need if you wanted to connect undersea wind generator cables to the grid? You would need this … a very serious tool for a very serious job. Making mistakes with this level of cable and the high cost of connectors means that if the connection is not right, you may be looking at $250 or more to fix it. The power coming though these parts is dangerously high and a missed connection can cause real damage and create extreme liability. You have to get it right and you have to have the right tool to do that. This is the top on the pyramid for hand held crimpers. The next step is something even more powerful and considerably more costly and dramatically less flexible. As the most powerful of it’s class, you get all that you are paying for. This is an elegant design, well made and an incredibly useful piece of equipment. If you need this, then no other choice will really work for you … and this choice certainly will. Do not go “live” with this until you have put some practice time in. Yes, that will cost you something in cable (upwards of $100/ft) and connectors ($35ea), but you need to demonstrate your skill with this … especially if you are on a job that will have government inspection. Make sure you have the correct dies for each connector/wire size. They are not included and without them, this simply won’t be of much use.
