I really like the grinder but the battery does not last long at all and overheating and the grinder does not work so I put the battery on the charger and get a new one and then that one goes dead so I just get my electric grinder to get the job done what battery works the best with grinder I love the brake it saves me time but the battery does not last long that’s way I am giving it three stars. So if you need a grinder for little jobs this is the one butt for big jobs I would not waste your money.

To cut metal and grind. I’ve made my own hand planes and blades from metal using this.

The best battery opt grinder

Wow! This grinder is a beast. I will say using a cutting wheel XC5.0 was okay, however grinding wheel different story. Using a HD 8.0 or 12.0 rock on. I love the braking system this device has. The weight versus the smaller grinder is not bad at all. I would definitely purchase another one. I urge you to purchase one.

I use the grinder at work almost daily & I am impressed with the power . I have a lot of 18 volt fuel tools . Still waiting for the multi speed die grinder in 18 volt that you still don’t have out . I been buying Milwaukee tools for over 40 years & still have them.

This tool is probably as reliable and tough as the other Milwaukee tools I own. There is NO 6″ cutting wheel guard (Type 1). I called Milwaukee customer service and confirmed that they don’t have one for this. They expect you to put a 6″ cutting wheel on a grinder with just a type 27 guard and violate OSHA rules. What happened to being all about the professionals. This is not what I expected from Milwaukee. If you plan to cut metal buy the 4.5/5″ or the 7/9″ model as there is a type 1 guard available for these.

I had absolutely no issues with my grinder. Amazing what they can get out of these batteries now. Cut through rebar like butter. I’ve only used it for smaller projects on DIY around the house so far. Next I plan to do some concrete grinding and believe this will have no problem handling that task!

It is a battery hog but meets heavy demand…..I would recommend using an 8.0 battery or bigger

Used this grinder a few times since purchase. It has a lot of power and the brake is nice. Able to put down fast and get to other work quickly. Pros : Powerful, has brake, anti fatigue handle, removable screen for motor, tooless wheel change.Cons : Seems long (you get used to it quick), Little heavy (Rather have some weight than have a cord to deal with!)Overall : Great grinder, would buy again. Cut the cord and you will find yourself using this tool where you never could use a grinder before.

Alright, let’s get the obvious out of the way. The tool is easily better than I expected. I love the power and speed + it feels great. Everyone in the shop loves not lugging air lines everywhere. But the largest battery I have is an 8 amp/hour and I find myself making two trips to the charger on longer work days. I can’t deny the value and quality you get from this tool but until I can get a 12 a/h battery it looks like I’m just going to have to get used to stopping by the charger.

Simply put. For a battery powered item, this things a beast.

I originally purchased this angle grinder for field use to make setup and cleanup a little simpler. Now that I’ve gotten used to the convenience of this grinder, I end up using it in the shop for small to medium jobs because uncoiling and coiling up extension cords is such a pain (yes I’m spoiled). I use this grinder with the medium sized batteries, good quality abrasives, and with medium to light tool loading, it’s worth the time savings. If you’re looking for something to put under heavy load, you’ll probably want to use the 12 amp hour battery however at that point, the battery gets a bit ridiculous in comparison to the size of the grinder.

This is a great addition to my Milwaukee line, this grinder has preformed better than I could ever Imagine. As long you use an 8.0 or larger battery this tool will make your drop cord Endup on the bottom of your gang box
