The M18 FUEL line is the best out there in my opinion. I am a diesel mechanic and work on fuel trailers as well. I’m hard on my tools and I have a lot of this line in my tool box for the last 3 years and they take a beating everyday and keep taking a beating.

I purchased this grinder to replace my very old, no longer safe, corded grinder. It definitely feels like it has the same amount of power. I definitely don’t use this grinder as long and hard as it can handle so the battery life I see other all-day users mention is not an issue for me.

I bought this grinder because I work Maintenance in a paper mill and sometimes we need to make a quick cut or grind something down to make a repair. I didn’t realize how much I needed this until I bought it! Battery life isn’t the greatest but I usually can cut a 10”-12” stainless pipe before having to change batteries

You need a battery bigger than 6.0 amp hours, anything less and it will overheat or overtax the battery reducing run time to a few minutes or less. Lots of power, the guard is overkill I don’t even own any 6 inch discs will probably get a smaller guard if possible, but good nonetheless

I have this and I have the 7-9″ grinder as well. Together they make a great combo. The 4-1/2″ – 6″ grinder is great for all my general cutting and grinding but being a bit lighter its easier it use it overhead and in awkward positions. Plenty of power means I can push hard when grinding and the “Rapid Stop” break lets me put the grinding down and move to another tool quickly without having to wait for it to spin down.
