The Milwaukee m18 metal cutting circular saw kit. The metal saw has a bunch of great features. The blade shroud does a excellent job of containing the sparks and metal fillings from flying all over the place. The saw also features a blade guard lift leaver that helps stop it from catching on the material your cutting. The saw has plenty of power to cut through any of the metal I thrown at it. It comes with a nice oversized bag and a m18 8.0 battery.

Okay, this thing is a beast in terms of size and capability. Metal cutting technology has come a long way in the past few years and Milwaukee is on top of it with this M18 FUEL *in brushless metal cutting circular saw. It comes complete and ready to go with a tool bag with strap, 8ah battery (great size for heavy use) and rapid charger and 42-tooth metal cutting blade that is rated for steel, stainless steel and aluminum 1/8 to 1/2 inches thick. This cordless saw is somewhat heavy, but not a lot heavier than most other options if at all. The great thing about circular saws to cut steel is that they make the cleanest smoothest cuts, they cut quickly, doesn’t make a ton of black dust like an abrasive blade does, and being cordless it is extremely portable. This is geared toward tradesmen in construction jobs, particularly such as electricians who cut allthread and strut all day, but anyone who needs a highly portable, clean cutting metal saw will find the usefulness of this saw immediately.

As always, Milwaukee has produced another excellent product. I did not expect that a battery-operated saw would be so powerful and I was impressed. I also like that it comes with a sturdy cloth bag for storage that has outside pockets on both sides and a sturdy zipper, although it is a tight fit for the saw when the blade is attached. I also like the chip collector. It is so convenient to be able to cut metal anywhere because it does not rely on electricity to run. It does have the power of a 15A corded saw, but this is faster. I like the textured, rubberized grips on the handles. It comes with everything needed to start cutting metal: the saw, an 8″ metal & stainless cutting blade which needs to be installed, an adjustable 1.5″ x34″ woven carry strap, an 18-volt 8.0 Ah battery, and a Rapid charger. Separate instruction manuals are also included for the circular saw and the charger. I like that this charger has indicator lights and can charge both M12 and M18 batteries. The battery also has status lights to show level of power remaining. It performs well and all the described features and specifications are correct. It is nice to have a tool with a 5-year warranty – the battery has a 3-year warranty.

I’ve always found this manufacturer to produce a quality product and this is no exception. It is very well built to last under heavy work conditions. I originally wanted it to cut roofing tin. However, for my uses I’m not sure it will work because it is so powerful and heavy. I’m not sure I have the strength to hold it if it catches a snag and tries to get away from me. The battery is great and it keeps on going a long time on a charge and it recharges fast. The bag is beautifully made but if they had just made it 1/2 an inch deeper I think it would have been easier to use without putting pressure on the zipper. I liked that everything came packed well inside the bag. Once the blade is on the tool and the guard is in place it must be laid on its side to fit into inside the bag with the zipper zipped.

By far one of the best cordless cutting saws on the market. This unit comes with the complete kit, and a well designed contractor’s carry bag. This new saw was purposely designed to cut better and faster than any of it’s electrical counterparts. The cuts are smooth and swift. This saw cut thru a solid 1/2 inch steel block in mere seconds. The entire process was clean and precise. Cutting depths are adjustable, and the Powerstate Brushless motor provides 4,000 RPM for faster cutting. It also includes higher capacity batteries, that are designed to run longer, and cooler to protect the equipment. We were truly impressed with the poser and performance, and therefore highly recommend this Milwaukee Cordless metal circular cutting saw to all interested shoppers. It absolutely delivers the performance it is designed for. This Company also provides for a 5-year limited tool warranty, 3-year limited battery warranty. Quality of construction and attention to detail are evident in all of their products.

I had to cut notches 1” deep in 2” strap 1/4 inch thick for the crossing points. Being able to set the depth of the cutand making several passes in each point took very little time. Making the first plate assembly the saw paid for buying it. After making three, 24 notches each, the blade still looks like new.

This saw is a monster, yet it is so versatile and easy to use. It’s right at 12lbs, uses the popular and dependable M18 batteries. This thing will cut just about any metal you’re going to run into on the jobsite. Its depth of cut is up to 2-9/16”. So, you can cut steel studs, decking, roofing panels, up to 1” steel plate, 2” steel pipe, 2-1/2’x2-1/2”x1/4” angle iron. It goes through aluminum siding and plate like a hot knife through butter. All of these while making a smooth clean finish. It has the standard 5/8” arbor, tool included and a place on the saw just for it. The chip container catches most of the chips and there’s a window to check the level of chips in the container. Emptying is quick and easy by unlatching one latch. There is an overload indicator light on the saw, to let you know when you might be pushing too fast. Let the saw do the work! It has a large and very comfortable handle, with ambidextrous safety switch or lock-off button. I really like that the shoe has clear markings as to where the blade travels and where the front of the blade is, so there’s no surprises there. The saw has a spindle lock, depth gauge, rip fence slot and depth adjusting lever like other Milwaukee circular saws, but this saw is not the same. It is a metal sawing beast and I don’t have to wrestle with cords or a generator. Just grab it and go. For those that have used Milwaukee’s corded saws, you know how good they are. Get that and more without the cord. This kit came with the heavy, well-made contractor bag, the powerful and long last High Output XC8.0 battery, the Rapid Charger and a blade. Read the manual, there’s always good information in them and then go and enjoy your new saw.

This cordless metal cutting circular saw is another outstanding product from Milwaukee. If you cut metal on a regular basis with a hacksaw, jigsaw or band saw, the metal cutting circular saw will save you a significant amount of time. As one of my tests, I cut through 1-1/2 x 1/2 x 1/8 inch steel c-channel. The cut was exceptionally clean and smooth. The saw cut through the metal with ease. The chip collection system on the saw did capture a majority of the metal chips but a small percentage ended up on the floor. This product comes with the saw, an eight inch metal cutting blade, one M18 8.0Ah battery, a rapid charger and a contractor’s bag. I prefer blow molded cases for durability but I realize others prefer the bags and with the size of the saw a blow molded case might be huge. The problem with this bag is that it is designed for the product to be stored as it comes out of the box (no blade installed and the guard retracted. Once one attaches the blade, they do not want to remove the blade to store the product. While one could cram the saw into the bag with blade attached, it is a very tight fit.The saw features a lock-off button which must be engaged to start the saw, a load indicator light, a rip fence slot, a lower guard with lever for manual opening, a chip container, a spindle lock, an attached spindle wrench, depth adjustment (0 to 2-9/16 inches) and an electronic brake that stops the blade in less than one second. The arbor is 5/8 inch and the no load RPM is 4000.The chip container attaches tightly to ensure the majority of metal chips are collected. However, once the latch is disengaged, I found it difficult to pop the chip container off the saw. It needs a leverage point where one can pull it off and I did not find a good gripping point to easily remove it. The spindle lock works well but I found it to be in an awkward place that made holding it with one hand and the wrench with the other difficult. The blade cover includes a directional arrow to help one remember which way to install a replacement blade.

This Milwaukee M18 FUEL 8 inch metal cutting circular saw is a well-designed, heavy duty tool. A lot of thought went into this tool, and it really shows. The saw is rated to cut up to 120 feet of corrugated decking per one charge of its 8 Ah battery, and this saw has an adjustable cut capacity of up to 2 and 9/16 inches so it will easily handle angle iron as well. Not being tied to a power cord is another advantage on this saw, and you do not give up any cutting power because this saw has the performance of a 15 Amp corded saw. Another great design feature is the onboard metal chip collection slot (an enclosed sleeve – see picture) which reduces loose debris and sparks (still wear those safety glasses though!). You can safely dispose of those metal chips by easily unlatching the side of the saw (see picture). Speaking of safety, there is an electric brake on the blade so this stops in less than one second of trigger release. It also has a square LED light on the top of the handle which alerts you to any problem, such as potential overload, overheating, or over-discharge (see picture). The saw comes with the 8 Ah battery I mentioned above (and it fits all Milwaukee M18 batteries), a charger, an 8 inch 42 tooth tungsten carbide infused blade, and a sturdy zippered carrying case (with shoulder strap for hands-free carrying), so you are all set to take this anywhere! I highly recommend this circular saw because of its great design features!

Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt 8 in. Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Metal Cutting Circular Saw Kit is new for me doing metalwork. This is a heavy duty circular saw that has on the side a hot metal chip container that gives it that different look. The chip container works reasonably well. The saw has an 8-inch blade with a maximum cut-off length of 2 9/16-inches. Per the manual, it’ll cut steel up to the following dimensions: decking 2 9/16-inches, plate 1-inch, pipe 2-inches, angle iron 2 1/2-inches per side by 1/4-inch thick and studs up to 10 gauge. The 8-Ah battery has plenty of power and is a pleasure with no trailing cord. The included battery has a capacity to cut 120 feet of metal decking. It is great in this regard to use on the job-site. The motor is larger, a sidewinder and found it a bit getting used to in working. The saw weight is 15-pounds with the 8.0 Ah battery. It comes with a top handle that is long and comfortable to get a good grip on the tool. It has a double safety trigger and an electrical brake. The brake is first rate and liked the slight buck because the motor stops the blade fast. It comes with a standard base for plunge cuts and more importantly, to adjust the blade height to the work for safety. Changing the blade is standard as with other aspects of this circular saw. The primary difference is its larger size and the hot chip container on one side. The battery recharges in less than an hour, add a second battery, if you want to keep going, but consider you may want some cooling time between recharges. It has an overload light that is sensitive when cutting, located on top of the handle and easy to view. It also helps in not burning the blade besides saving the motor. It comes with a Milwaukee metal cutting, 42-teeth, blade. I haven’t done any really heavy cutting yet, just some angle iron, metal studs and scrape that made quick work of it all. Previously, I would have used a Sawzall and a large portable band saw for this work. I was immediately impressed with this saw. Cuts are clean, quick, few burrs, more precise and cooler to the touch when done. The 2 9/16-inch capacity with the powerful motor means it can easily handle jobs that I’d been using other saws to handle. It is a no nonsense portable saw for tough jobs.

I received my Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt 8 in. Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Metal Cutting Circular Saw Kit. It came with a with 8.0 Ah Battery, Rapid Charger, saw blade and a nice carrying bag. The first thing I did was charge the battery. With the rapid charger it did take very long at all. I installed the blade to the saw. I looked around my shop and found a piece of thick walled pipe to cut. It cut through the pipe fast and smooth. The allen wrench is stored on the handle of the saw. Make sure to wear safety glasses when using. There are a lot of chips flying. I would recommend this metal Cutting saw to anyone that has metal to cut. Milwaukee tools are awesome and they have a lot of great tools.
