This is a great tool kit. The batteries last, every tool has more than enough power, and the carry case is actually kind of nice. You can tell these tool were made with care and built to withstand some abuse.

I am a 25 year plumber… used all brands of tools. Nothing compares to the FUEl! I have every tool they have made ( 2 and 3 on some)! I will never use anything else..

Milwaukee 18 v. initial quality appears to be very good. With the exception of my reciprocating saw, DeWalt has served me well for many years. Milwaukees 18 volt tools are much heavier than DeWalts 20 volt tools and I don’t know that I am impressed by that. Milwaukee tends to cater more towards the plumbing profession and this I do like. The cordless right angle drill (super hawg) with quick chuck is far superior to anyting on the market in the hands of a professional, cordless or not, hands down.

Plenty of power on all tools. But only having 2 batteries not so much. After using the sander or circular saw for a bit batteries die. Really need like 6 batteries.

I am a do-it-yourself and get sucked into some significant projects for others. I’ve used the Craftsman C3 drill and driver tools since they first came out and they were well designed and held up very well to the abuse. I switched from No-Cad to Lithium batteries when they became available. However, much has changed over those decades and there are many other options these days.Ive had a Milwaukee reciprocating saw which has been a very solid tool for the decades I’ve had it. I’ve also have a Bosch router that is way better than the Craftsman router which remains mounted under the router table. So, I certainly looked at both of those brands as well as others (Dewalt, Makita, Ryobi) in terms of both the quality, anticipated durability and availability of a range of tools which are available for the battery systems. Milwaukee came in the winner for me…the presence of metal rather than plastic adds weight but is more durable and, as most of what I use are tools associated with working with wood, there is an adequate supply of options for me to add to the 2997-25 combo set.A couple comments:1.) a combo which includes a flashlight displeases me as it is filler. It will be one of the most expensive flashlights you’ll own. I would prefer to have the money go towards something more useful as I have flashlights and work lights.2.) Milwaukee’s engineers need to seriously rethink the “extra bit holder” on their drill and driver (at least the ones in this set). With the sharp corners and how it protrudes maybe a box of good bandages rather than the flashlight is in order. Best thing is they are removable but then there’s no place for a spare or alternate bit. There certainly are locations where one could be molded into the device or battery housings. I simply removed them as well as the hangers. These are minor aspects that I will gladly deal with for the quality and workmanship of the tools themselves and, as my tool budget allows, I certainly will be adding to my Milwaukee M18 collection…already eyeing the palm router and random orbital sander.

Don’t get me wrong, Milwaukee are great tools. Once I unpackaged the kit I inspected all items to ensure they all functioned and all parts were accounted for. A few days later I went to use the impact driver and realized the locking ball (that prevents the chuck from coming out) wasn’t there. I tried to exchange at the store, but they wouldn’t take it back because I didn’t have the packaging any more. Now I have to go through Milwaukee ship it back wait for the repair and then wait for them to ship it back. Home Depot is a Corporate conglomerate and I wouldn’t shop there if I didn’t have to.
