When you have to use this kind of saw blade, you have to get it. It is expensive and yet it has its place in the line up of tool parts, but if I could have found a cheaper clone, I would have bought it. The reason for the harsh critique is that the diamond-grit did not last very long for about 7 minutes of cutting.

Cut a couple wrought iron clothes lines that were too big to fit in the dumpster. Metal was about 1/8″ thick and 2″ diameter piping. Took a couple minutes a piece to cut, just held the sawzall on it and let the blade do the work. Looks like the blade still has some life left in it. Definitely wasn’t like cutting through butter and I wonder if the metal was any thicker if it would work very well, but was good for my application.

I am a professional plumber and I have used these blades to cut cast iron, 2″, 3″, 4″. They work pretty well. That said, I know what to expect. Cutting cast iron is not easy, no matter how you do it. Using this blade will give you a clean cut, no risk of collapsing the pipe and no black lung from carborundem. There will be a little dust, but not like the grinder. I only use these blades to cut cast and when I retire them they cut plaster. I would never cut galvo with this blade or anything but cast iron and plaster. Compared to other cast iron cutting blades, the Torch blade is average. I would buy them again if I can’t find the blades I like. To make two cuts through 4″ XH cast could take 20-30mins… and the blade is working well. Grinder might take 10-20mins. Nothing is fun or fast when it comes to cast.

Bought it to finish compound cuts in brick, very effective and worked better with slight water flow added.

I had a 1.5 inch cast iron pipe to cut. There was a young lady at Home Depot that knew her stuff. When I asked her which saws-all would be best she told me that the right blade was the key. She was 100 percent right! Great blade for the job.
