I used this saw blade to cut apart old cast iron radiators so they could be removed from a building. The cutting speed was comparable to the standard “the torch” 18 TPI blade but the durability of this blade is far superior. I’ve cut through 6 2.5″ cast “pipes” and the blade still works like new. After cutting through 1 with the normal 18 TPI blade it was wearing out and slowing down.

I had a 50 yr old, 6 inch cast iron pipe i had to remove a small section of in my crawl space. The pipe was running in between floor joists and was too confined to get a chain snapper or a grinder in at it. After 3 hrs I went through 2 bi-metal blades and hadn’t even got 1 inch into the pipe. I was flabbergasted. I got a tip on this blade from a plumber buddy. Popped this blade in and 50 mins later, two fine cuts in the “beast” pipe. Blade still has plenty of grit for another cut. Not sure why others guys have an issue with this blade, if I find myself in same situation again, I won’t hesitate to go for this blade.

Blade stays sharp. Doesn’t need much pressure at all – just be patient and the blade will do all the work.

I’ve been using Diamond blades for some time now but much prefer Milwaukee’s wider blade, it doesn’t twist as much and seems nicer cut. Absolutely fabulous on cast iron. Today I used it on Bell and spigot 4 inch clay. Cut through it like butter. Did two cuts in the blade is still like new.

I used this blade to cut through approximately 8 feet of a stuccoed wall while installing a window. The blade worked great. I did try it on an old 3 inch cast iron drain pipe and like the other reviewer it did not cut at all. Stucco = good, cast iron = bad.

Used a diamond blade in my grinder and finished the unreachable back side of a cast iron pipe with the Torch recip blade. Worked perfect.A little slower going through than the grinder blade but finished the job no problem.

I tried to use it to make a cutout in a hollow block wall for a metal door frame I was installing instead of a circular saw in order to create less dust. It did cut the blocks but it was excruciatingly slow and I just gave up after a while. Also, the flexibility of the blade was a disadvantage as it yielded quite easily to obstructions (mortar droppings) instead of sawing through them which resulted in an uneven cut line. Overall it is an OK product but I’m giving it a 3 because of the high price I paid, a price that is much higher than the US price even accounting for currency exchange.

Far end of a short crawler, access with sawzall much easier than getting a ratchet snap cutter there (cut access also). Far superior to carbide grit, the blade is strong and ridgid. These blades will actually cut cast iron without the instant “suprise” of a snap cutter on a repair. Well worth the money.

It did what it was intended – cut through some hollow blocks. Slow in solid concrete. Wore out the diamond cutting edge pretty quick. Nothing spectacular, performed as expected for this type of blade. Ended up finishing the job with a diamond blade on my angle grinder.
