I have a metal fence Im building and figured I could use these on my cordless saws all. These blades work really well. They cut into the metal at full speed without a lot of jolting. With the carbide teeth, there are little to no sparks. Once it gets the initial cut started, it gut really fast. I was only cutting through 1/8 angle, so that is what I am basing my speed on.

Just another sawzall blade, not really. These torch nitrous blades made by Milwaukee are made specifically for cast iron and stainless pipe cutting. I have used these blades to cut 4 inch cast iron pipe standoffs imbedded in concrete with great success. Cast is pretty brittle and specifically older cast iron pipe likes to crack when cutting. These blades seem to do a great job. If you look at the blade, the teeth are slightly offset from each other and I think this must be a key to it working. The blades hold up really well too, I try to keep them cool as not to damage them. The paint is really thick on them so I wire wheel them a bit as you can see in the picture, it helps to install them and remove them from your tool.

This cutting blade is the one. When I saw the size and quality of the Milwaukee 12 IN. 7 TPI Torch Nitrus Carbide Reciprocating Saw Blade, I had to use it right away. I had large metal pieces that needed to be cut into smaller pieces. The blade cuts like a knife through butter. The additional 25% more Nitrus Carbide per tooth really makes the blade a cut above what I already have. The time it takes to cut through metal pieces is incredible. We’re talking about seconds. This blade has a 1/2 in. universal tang. So if you’re looking for the right cutting blade for virtually any job, Milwaukee 12 IN. Torch Nitrus Carbide is the blade. You will notice immediately how durable this blade is. It’s very strong and doesn’t bend out of control like other blades. It produces very clean and accurate cuts.

This is an amazing blade for cutting thick materials! The only issue I had with it was that the paint (it feels like some sort of powder-coat paint) is WAY too thick, and it doesn’t fit easily into the shank of my saws. An ordinary blade measures about .05″ thick (actually, 0.049″ on the one I measured), while the Nitrous carbide blade measures 0.069″ thick. I managed to work it into my Ryobi battery saw, but it took some doing. I will have to file or sand the paint down to get it to fit into my Porter-Cable Tigersaw – it just jams.So – once you thin the shank down so it will go into your saw, it really goes to town on thick metal. I did a test cut with this blade of a 1″ pipe with 1/4″ walls and one with a standard metal-cutting blade, and, as you can see from the pictures, it got through over twice as much material as a regular metal-cutting blade.

Great blade, able to cut through quarter inch steel without a problem. Still in good shape, should last a few more jobs.

The 9-inch Torch Nitrus Saw Blade (made by Milwaukee), is a bit pricey; however, if you need to cut thick heavy metal, the investment is well worth the cost. I have a lot of scrap machinery and metal here on the farm and a lot of projects to do (this was used on a honey bee stand project). The metal was thick, old, and rusty, yet the nitrus carbide blade had no problem making a clean straight cut. Granted, it was not a fast cut, but still, I had no issues with the Sawzall cutting all the way through. I cut several pieces from the old hay cutter and inspected the blade at the end. I was pleasantly surprised that it showed little or no wear to the cutting teeth. This Milwaukee (Torch) Metal Cutting blade will clearly be my go-to blade for future farm projects requiring metal cuts.

This is a very good reciprocating saw blade for heavy duty work. It doesn’t seem to cut as fast as other blades but that is acceptable since it stays sharp a long time and cuts stuff like cast iron that other blades can’t tackle. I am using it to cut 3 inch galvanized steel pipe and it just zips right through it. I could use a different blade for this mild steel pipe but since this works fine and stays sharp I will just use it rather than change out the blade for cast iron.

These are very nice, high quality blades. I like the 12 inch size which gives you more ability to cut from a distance. I used the blades to cut old steel plumbing pipes out of a house. The blades made short work of cutting the pipe. At times the 12 inch length got in the way of cutting in tight spaces. Even though these blades are rated for metal cutting they can be used for wood, plastic, etc. if needed. I used one to make a wood cut and it worked great.

This is a blade made by Milwaukee specifically for cutting 4″ cast iron pipe. On occasion I run into a job I have to cut cast iron waste line pipe and it is impossible to get a grinder around for cutting and this blade becomes a life saver because you can cut the whole pipe from 1 access point. The metal blades have increased in quality making shorter cutting time. I would recommend this blade.

Milwaukee got this right, excellent issue free cutting of galvanized schedule 80 pipe with nearly a 1/4″ wall thickness. Corral posts varied slightly after installation and conventional bi-metal reciprocating saw blades were very slow, wore out quickly and got expensive as did carbide tipped blades. These are much more expensive initially and worth every penny, cutting through the pipe was fast and the blades last much longer. They are not carbide tipped but the blade is treated.

I got this primarily for cutting thick steel. I cut through some 1/4 inch thick mild steel and it went through like butter. I decided to try this blade because the plumbers I work with recently did a bunch of demolition work taking out large steel pipe and cast iron drain pipe. They absolutely swear by these. This blade is substantially thicker and stronger than your typical sawzall blades. This one is built for cutting thick mild steel, stainless steel, and cast-iron. It would obviously cut through wood just fine as well.

This five-pack of 9 inch Milwaukee “Torch” reciprocating saw blades are exactly what you need to cut large diameter thick metal pipe, up to about 7 inches. The blade has a one inch profile, carbide teeth (7 TPI – see picture), and the heavy duty design allows you to easily cut cast iron drain pipe. The blade teeth are about 7.5 inches of the length (see picture). You just insert the blade into the reciprocating saw after twisting open the ring that secures the blade (see picture), and you are ready to go! It is good to have a five-pack just in case you have a failure or want to switch to a new, cool blade if you heat up the one you are using (due to friction). I highly recommend this 9 inch blade five-pack!

I tried multiple cuts on a 3/4″ black pipe and 2″ cast iron pipe. It cuts faster than normal bi-metal blades and shows almost no wear. The spec says it will last 3x longer life in cast iron. After my first cuts I believe this is true. Overall, there is not too much to say other than this blade seems to be perfect for my plumbing projects. I like the way it feels.

I got these blades to cut out some old cast iron waste pipes from my basement. I was cutting 4″ inch pipe and it cut like butter. The carbide teeth on the blade worked phenomenally better than standard High Speed Steel (HSS) or M42 fine tooth Carbon Blades. No cutting fluids or oils required. I also used in on other ferrous metals such as black pipe just to see how it would cut and it cut through great using the same blade I used for the cast iron. They seem to be resilient and tough.

A great match with my Hackzall. Thick and durable, nothing flimsy here. After using the AX version of the Milwaukee reciprocating saw blades, I was impressed enough to try the TORCH version. The AX is for wood, like an axe, and the TORCH for metal, like a cutting torch.I have a classic corded Sawzall, and it works fine there. But my recent favorite tool is the newer and smaller Hackzall. It works just fine with this tool too and you can get into smaller places. These blades are quite durable with regard to the teeth. But they also run well without a lot of bending and breaking that I got with cheap blades. That’s important too when it comes to longevity.Take a look at the attached photo for a close up of the teeth and difference between it and the AX. Note that the TORCH does not have the end “fang” tooth like the AX. That’s good, you don’t want it for metal.Made in USA

These blades cut metal that standard metal blades will not touch. However, they are pretty expensive. You might want to stop by the tool rental department first to see what they recommend. A rental might be cheaper or more appropriate depending on your application. On soft steel I couldn’t tell the different between these blades and my standard metal blades. I sacrificed a spare hardened steel wrench as a test. After 38 seconds, the Torch blades severed the wrench and the teeth still looked good as new. After 38 seconds my standard metal blades barely scratched the wrench and the teeth did not look good.I received these MILWAUKEE 9 IN. 7 TPI TORCH NITRUS CARBIDE TEETH METAL CUTTING SAWZALL RECIPROCATING SAW BLADE (3-PACK) for free to write this review.
