I’ve only used it once, I purchased it specifically for hardened metal that the other normal metal cutting blades were just not cutting it (pun intended). Very effective.

The 9-inch Torch Nitrus Saw Blade (made by Milwaukee), is a bit pricey; however, if you need to cut thick heavy metal, the investment is well worth the cost. I have a lot of scrap machinery and metal here on the farm and a lot of projects to do (this was used on a honey bee stand project). The metal was thick, old, and rusty, yet the nitrus carbide blade had no problem making a clean straight cut. Granted, it was not a fast cut, but still, I had no issues with the Sawzall cutting all the way through. I cut several pieces from the old hay cutter and inspected the blade at the end. I was pleasantly surprised that it showed little or no wear to the cutting teeth. This Milwaukee (Torch) Metal Cutting blade will clearly be my go-to blade for future farm projects requiring metal cuts.

I had an old cast iron pipe that had dulled several metal cutting blades. This blade really impressed me, it cut thru the pipe with such ease that I would recommend this blade for use on this type of metal.

This is an impressive blade. It’s very stiff and 1/16″ thick. I tried it on 1/2″ rebar and it cut through it like butter in only 6 seconds, making a clean, smooth cut. Out of curiosity I tried it on the 3/16″ aluminum decking I was installing and it seems like it couldn’t get a bite and just skipped over the surface, so I’ll be using it on thick metals as recommended.

Heavy Duty Sawzall Blades – at 7 Teeth per inch these are designed for thick metal.Blades are fully coated with what looks a epoxy or powder paint, this should prevent them from premature rust out. They are about 0.070 with a very narrow kerf, the blades are a solid piece. That is the teeth are not welded on.Work well on angle iron and black pipe, smooth cuts. They marked for cast iron, I have not needed to cut that yet.

This metal cutting blade worked very well when I cut a steel electrical strut with it in my shop. I also tested it on a solid dry 2 by 4 stud in my shop and it worked well for that. I tried cutting a old outdoor 4 by 4 wood fence post with this blade and it did not work very well for that, so don’t expect it to work well on all wood types. This is definitely a good metal cutting blade as advertised and it works great for that.

Another specialized blade for the ubiquitous reciprocating saw, the “Torch Nitrus Carbide” blade from Milwaukee will not disappoint! This 9 inch, 7 TPI blade quickly cuts through the workpiece while leaving a clean cut and little wear to the teeth of the blade. While I did not have any cast iron to try them on (the manufacturer claims three times the life of a standard carbide blade in cast iron), when used to cut trio of items (formed steel channel-0.120 in. thickness, #4 rebar and a 2 inch steel tube with 0.168 in. wall thickness)-see photos, the cuts were effected quickly and cleanly. Cutting through the rebar took less than 3 seconds per cut! Another good addition to the cutting inventory.

The blade arrived quickly and was undamaged. It fit perfectly into my nonreciprocating saw even though it is not a Milwaukee brand tool. I was able to cut through metal easily with the blade. I have cut copper pipe as well as galvanized steel pipe with no problems. There appears to be no wear of the blade after the cutting I have done to date. Looks like it will have a good long life.

Good product, cuts fast with little effort. Seems to have very little effort while in action that guarantees a nice straight cut. The end result is less prep after the cut is finished, like deburring in the normal sense. The blades in general have nice sharp teeth that adds to their longevity. I found the packaging a bit burdensome to open and could be a little less intense.

Cast iron cutting blades for you sawzall are a MUST. I’ve tried using other normal blades to cut CAST IRON pipe and the pipe just laughs at the blades. They dull in minutes without really make as much as a slit in the pipe. So, if you have cast iron pipe to cut, then buy these blades. I recommend a multipack when you make your purchase. You likely will want to install a fresh blade before you are completely finished. Also, they work well for other types of thick metal and stainless steel, so they will be a good thing to keep along with your saw.

A great match with my Hackzall. Thick and durable, nothing flimsy here. After using the AX version of the Milwaukee reciprocating saw blades, I was impressed enough to try the TORCH version. The AX is for wood, like an axe, and the TORCH for metal, like a cutting torch.I have a classic corded Sawzall, and it works fine there. But my recent favorite tool is the newer and smaller Hackzall. It works just fine with this tool too and you can get into smaller places. These blades are quite durable with regard to the teeth. But they also run well without a lot of bending and breaking that I got with cheap blades. That’s important too when it comes to longevity.Take a look at the attached photo for a close up of the teeth and difference between it and the AX. Note that the TORCH does not have the end “fang” tooth like the AX. That’s good, you don’t want it for metal.Made in USA

To anybody who ever used a sawzall, the most important component is, without any doubts, the blade. Those are terrific and chop and cut any piece of sheet metal or copper pipe without much effort. Painfully noisy and messy process though, so stay safe with ear and eyes protections. Anyhow, those are great blades, you can’t go wrong with those. They don’t come cheap but really worth it.

Just a great reciprocating saw blade that can really handle what you throw it’s way. Very heavy duty and well made. Milwaukee has made another top notch sawzall blade that pairs well with any of their sawzall.I paired this blade with the M18 Fuel Brushless Sawzall and it had no problems handling what I threw its way. I only used it to cut some rebar but it cut threw it easily. You can see from the picture below that it holds up well under multiple uses. I cut some rebar 15 times and you can barely tell that the blade was used. I highly recommend this blade be added to your assortment of reciprocating saw blades.

I’m not going to lie my expectations for this blade were that it would be slightly better at cutting metal than a normal reciprocating saw blade. Boy was I wrong. This blade cuts through thick metal really easily. I used it to cut off some bolts on a project car that I have. I couldn’t quite get a grinder in there and the area was sensitive enough that I didn’t want to use a torch. So I got this blade to get those hard to reach bolts and it just flew through them like they were nothing. I figured old rusty bolts it was probably just an easy cut so I grabbed piece of rebar and put the blade to the test. It took the blade with moderate pressure 6 seconds to cut through the rebar. I was floored, and the damage to the blade was minimal after doing it 4 more times to make sure the first time wasn’t a fluke. You can see the rebar and the wear on the blade from my pictures. Definitely a great blade, one that I will purchase again.

I tried multiple cuts on a 3/4″ black pipe and 2″ cast iron pipe. It cuts faster than normal bi-metal blades and shows almost no wear. The spec says it will last 3x longer life in cast iron. After my first cuts I believe this is true. Overall, there is not too much to say other than this blade seems to be perfect for my plumbing projects. I like the way it feels.

I got these to cut some cast iron pipe and they looked very beefy and different from some other blades. They really are different. They last longer and do hold up better. They are very good at cutting through cast iron pipe and you don’t have to change blades as often. This also works great on rebar and angle iron. I tried them out on a piece of stainless and they work well on that too. These will be my metal sawzall blades from now on. The others will stay in the drawer. These will fit any standard sawzall, they’re beefy and are a pretty neat design too.

These blades are great. I got them mainly to cut some fairly thick metal fence posts, and they’ve been very effective; the phrase “hot knife through butter” comes to mind. I haven’t tried to cut anything heavier, but based on their performance so far, I have faith that they could handle it. They are a little pricey, but if you need to cut heavy gauge metal, these blades are well worth it.

I received the MILWAUKEE 6 IN. 7 TPI TORCH NITRUS CARBIDE TEETH METAL CUTTING SAWZALL RECIPROCATING SAW BLADE (3-PACK) to test for Home Depot. I did not have any projects going on that I needed Sawzall for, so I just got some scrap copper piping to use for a test. It went through the copper like it was butter. No drag and a nice clean cut. These are superior to the average blades that I have been using.

These carbide reciprocating saw blades from Milwaukee are just the thing to cut through tough metal. I recently used one on my last project which involved cutting to length some galvanized electrical conduit pipes. The teeth were sharp and cut through the metal smoothly but not so fast that they grabbed too much material. My other Milwaukee bits and blades have off held up well so I expect the same from these. Good quality tools.
