I disassembled an old upright piano in order to get it out of the basement. I wouldn’t recommend this job to anyone! After I removed all the strings and got the harp out of the frame I still needed to cut the heavy cast iron harp in half to make the pieces more manageable to remove. After reading reviews, I settled on this 9” heavy metal cutting blade.I had to cut the frame in 4 places – cross sections of these cuts ranged from 1”x1” to 1”x1.5”. It started well but I probably dulled the blade some by the time I was done. I took my time using light to medium pressure and let the tool do the work. Took no more than 10-15 minutes and the harp was cut in half and is now out of the house!

This is a very good reciprocating saw blade for heavy duty work. It doesn’t seem to cut as fast as other blades but that is acceptable since it stays sharp a long time and cuts stuff like cast iron that other blades can’t tackle. I am using it to cut 3 inch galvanized steel pipe and it just zips right through it. I could use a different blade for this mild steel pipe but since this works fine and stays sharp I will just use it rather than change out the blade for cast iron.

Milwaukee sawzall blades are undoubtedly 1 of the best reciprocating saw blades on the market and this blade surpasses the original sawzall blades that Milwaukee makes and is superior in a lot of noticeable ways when using the blade on cast iron as what this blade is designed for use on. It is best when using this blade to use the original Milwaukee Sawzall as this blade is designed for that tool and will give the best results however this blade will work on any reciprocating saw.

I just want to say I absolutely love the Milwaukee Sawzall lineup including their blades. Their blades last the longest of any I’ve tried previously, and their line up of uses is A+. This Nitrus Carbide blade is handy for cutting any thicker metals, but specifically any old cast iron pipes. I don’t have cut a lot of thick metal, but I’m confident this thing will last a long, long time.

If you have a tough cutting job to do through metal then these Milwaukee Torch blade set of five are the blades you’ll want in your tool bag! When use in a Sawzall it seems there isn’t any metal it cannot cut through and cut through smoothly. I tested one on a piece of black iron pipe and I was amazed at how smoothly it cut through it with little to know vibration. And smooth cuts mean accurate cuts. The trick is, as always when sawing, is to let the blade do the work, don’t force it and it cuts fast and smooth. The extra nitrus carbide in these blades gives it its added strength and cutting power. I will be using these on all my tough metal cutting jobs from now on!

I have an old Jeep that the tow hitch was rusted off on one side only, so I decided to cut the other side but the blades I had was only scratching the surface. Went to THD site to see what my local store had in stock. After reading the reviews I picked up to give them a try. I was quite surprised that it cut so fast, I didn’t put a stop watch on it but it couldn’t have taken more than 45 seconds. I was reluctant to spend this amount of money, but I’m glad I did. I don’t think I’ll have to purchase any metal cutting blades for some time. You can buy just 1 or a 3 pack and a 5 pack.

Milwaukee got this right, excellent issue free cutting of galvanized schedule 80 pipe with nearly a 1/4″ wall thickness. Corral posts varied slightly after installation and conventional bi-metal reciprocating saw blades were very slow, wore out quickly and got expensive as did carbide tipped blades. These are much more expensive initially and worth every penny, cutting through the pipe was fast and the blades last much longer. They are not carbide tipped but the blade is treated.

a few days ago I got the Milwaukee 9 in. 7 TPI TORCH Nitrus Carbide Teeth Metal Cutting SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw Blade (5-Pack). It is perfect for a lot of my jobs in my shop. I don’t do a lot of metal work but when I do I like the right tools and these blades help fill the need. I have been putting up Bluebird nesting boxes. We use sign post to hold them. I cut a wedge shape end so we can drive them in the ground. This blade help make it easier.

Work well on metals other than just cast iron. These 6″ 7 teeth per inch blades in my past experience are good for many other thick metals. I have used these blades where a bolt cutter might have been quicker, had I had one handy, Long lasting, you can cut a lot of metal with one blade. Starting a cut is easy with no jitter or jumping about to speak of, assuming you maintain good solid control of the Sawzall of course.

No doubt in my mind… YES!!! I would recommend this product. I can’t believe how it cut through thick steal like it was butter. Saved me a great deal of time and a great deal of discomfort in my hands. I would normally use a pneumatic cut tool for this type of job. INCREDIBLE!!!! After cutting several pieces I inspected the blade and it doesn’t appear to have been used at all. Go Torch or you’ll have an exhaustive experience!

Milwaukee never disapoints, never. Their quality control is the best. I used this with my Milwaukee 28V cordless, and let me tell you, these teeth grip, seriously grip. Make cutting up a motorcycle frame was a task easily accomplished…………………………………………………………………………………………………Oh and packed well.

Milwaukee 9 in. 7 TPI TORCH Nitrus Carbide Teeth Metal Cutting SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw Blade (3-Pack) – a Home Depot Seeds Program ReviewI have vereral types of blades for my SAWZALL reciprocating saw. I have ones for wood, wood with nails, long ones, short ones, etc. I saw these Milwaukee 9 in. 7 TPI TORCH Nitrus Carbide Teeth Metal Cutting SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw Blades and thought they might be an interesting addition. I don’t often have the opportunity to cut heavy cast iron pipe, which I think these were designed for, but it has happened. The blades are none inches long with seven teeth per inch and a pretty thick kerf so this isn’t a blade for precision work. For cast iron or, in my case, some ½ inch black pipe, the blades is great. The thicker kerf means less flex for the heavier metal. The teeth are coated with Milwaukee’s proprietary Nitrus Carbide so they don’t wear as fast. I’ve used other carbide blades and they really do last longer. In the case of these blades, Milwaukee documentation says there’s 25% more Nitrus Carbide per tooth. I have no way to verify this.In use, I found the blades did a great job of cutting. I had a piece of ½ inch black pipe from another project. I made several cuts and found the blade made quick work of the pipe and left a pretty good finish. Cutting through the pipe took seven or eight seconds and after a few cuts the only difference in the blade was some paint rubbed off. That sure beats the time it took with a hacksaw when I cut the pipe before. I couldn’t see any wear on the teeth when I was done and I don’t know how many cuts I would have needed to make in order to see any wear. I got the blades in a 3-pack which is probably a good idea so you’ll have spares if they do wear down too much. These Milwaukee 9 in. 7 TPI TORCH Nitrus Carbide Teeth Metal Cutting SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw Blade, like other Milwaukee SAWZALL blades are high quality at a pretty good price. The Nitrus Carbide should make these blades last for a considerable time. They cut fast and clean. I think they’re a good addition to my collection of blades. This is the manufacturer’s product page if interested:https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/Accessories/Cutting/SAWZALL-Blades/SAWZALL-TORCH-with-NITRUS-CARBIDE

Milwaukee metal cutting blades for cast iron and other thick metals cut faster than traditional carbide teeth products that are available. These blades cut through black metal pipe as a regular blade would cut through wood. The blade delivers three times the life of existing carbide toothed reciprocating saw blades and hardly showed any wear after the trial cut. these have a universal tang so that they can be used in all reciprocating saws. The TORCH SAWZALL cuts the thickest metal such as cast iron and soil pipe. I cut 3/4″ diameter 72 inch long steel black steel pipe to make two three foot pipe clamps. The cut took less than ten seconds; took longer to set up than do the actual cut.

These are some tough, tough blades. They are not for everyday cutting of thin or even medium steel. If you are cutting cast iron or structural steel with a reciprocating saw, these are the blades for you. The teeth are very broad so they will not work on thinner materials. I would not try on less than 1/8 or maybe even 3/16 steel. I used on some 3 1/2″ oil field pipe and the cut right through it. Not that it was fast but the blades made steady progress and did the job.

These are heavy duty blades that are much more steadier than most blades on the market. You can use this blade to cut a variety of materials such as stainless steel, rebar , and angle iron. The unique alloy allows the blades to last three times longer than traditional blades. I used this blade with my handheld Milwaukee Sawzall and it worked nicely. The great things about these blades are that they are made in the United States. Nice product for my daily use.

These are strong blades for cutting anything metal, well actually anything that isn’t too thick. The spacing of the blades is small so it won’t quickly cut, but it will cut clean. I used these on some PVC tubing and they easily cut. I also like the fact that they are 9 inches. You can cut through larger diameter tubing in one pass rather than having to rotate around.

This five-pack of 9 inch Milwaukee “Torch” reciprocating saw blades are exactly what you need to cut large diameter thick metal pipe, up to about 7 inches. The blade has a one inch profile, carbide teeth (7 TPI – see picture), and the heavy duty design allows you to easily cut cast iron drain pipe. The blade teeth are about 7.5 inches of the length (see picture). You just insert the blade into the reciprocating saw after twisting open the ring that secures the blade (see picture), and you are ready to go! It is good to have a five-pack just in case you have a failure or want to switch to a new, cool blade if you heat up the one you are using (due to friction). I highly recommend this 9 inch blade five-pack!

After trying out milwaukee carbide blades 2 years ago for some metal cutting I have to say I was very impressed with the cutting speed and blade longevity over their standard blades and stocked up on my commonly used sizes. Now here comes the Nitrus. I gave it a try and all I can say is WOW! The speed of cut and blade strength are phenomenal. I use a dewalt 10 amp corded recip saw for my heavy duty cutting and put this new blade through the paces. I cut through an old scrap jack I had. It cut the 1.25″ thick piston (see pics) in 21 seconds. I then cut through the saddle section with some odd angled pieces (another pic) in 29 seconds. I then decided to see how it handled wood since most metal specific blades are horrible in wood. I cut up some old fencing I had lying around, and while not as fast as a wood blade, it still cut with ease. After cutting i there was no noticable damage or wear to the blade. I will definitely be using these blades from now on whenever I have a metal cutting project.

Great tough blades and a good value at a pack of three. The blade did a great job cutting through some old cast-iron pipe. Went right through with good control and the cut went pretty straight. The blade itself is pretty thick in the carbide teeth have some sharp aggressive bite. I also cut up an old steel antenna and some other stuff I was throwing out. I definitely recommend the 9 inch one over the 6 inch one if you’re cutting some big diameter piping because cast-iron pipes have rather large diameters on the outside but the 6” cuts just as good but might not be enough for a one sided pass. The teeth on the blade sure do last and I’m still on the first one of the pack of three. I’ll definitely be using Milwaukee blades more often.
