Cuts hardened steel when normal metal blades don’t.The name “Torch” implies some serious cutting power. It makes me think of a cutting torch. Maybe not quite that good but they are still pretty good.I compared the cutting ability to a standard metal blade. On soft metals like a bolt, I really could not tell the difference. However, I tried cutting up an old hardened still wrench. The torch blade made it through in 38 seconds. My metal blade after 38 seconds barely scratched the wrench and the teeth were in pretty bad shape. The Torch teeth still looked pretty good after tearing through the hardened steel.I received these amazing MILWAUKEE 6 IN. 7 TPI TORCH NITRUS CARBIDE TEETH METAL CUTTING SAWZALL RECIPROCATING SAW BLADE (5-PACK) for free to write this review.

Milwaukee 9 in. 7 TPI TORCH Nitrus Carbide Teeth Metal Cutting SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw Blade (5-Pack) review: Another fabulous tool attachment from Milwaukee! I received these thick powerful blades and installed one in my Milwaukee Sawzall. I did not have any cast iron tubes to cut (which is what these are designed for I presume) so I took them to cut a piece of fence pipe on my fence. I did not have a reference cut so the saw bounced around cutting the post. This was because I tried cutting the post at a 90 degree angle instead of having it in a horizontal position or clamped down. These blades are tough and showed no signs of wear. I then took a piece of 2X2 inch wood and it sliced right through it. Milwaukee tough! Really like these blades! There ya go!

Just another sawzall blade, not really. These torch nitrous blades made by Milwaukee are made specifically for cast iron and stainless pipe cutting. I have used these blades to cut 4 inch cast iron pipe standoffs imbedded in concrete with great success. Cast is pretty brittle and specifically older cast iron pipe likes to crack when cutting. These blades seem to do a great job. If you look at the blade, the teeth are slightly offset from each other and I think this must be a key to it working. The blades hold up really well too, I try to keep them cool as not to damage them. The paint is really thick on them so I wire wheel them a bit as you can see in the picture, it helps to install them and remove them from your tool.

I got this primarily for cutting thick steel. I cut through some 1/4 inch thick mild steel and it went through like butter. I decided to try this blade because the plumbers I work with recently did a bunch of demolition work taking out large steel pipe and cast iron drain pipe. They absolutely swear by these. This blade is substantially thicker and stronger than your typical sawzall blades. This one is built for cutting thick mild steel, stainless steel, and cast-iron. It would obviously cut through wood just fine as well.

I don’t think there is to many things more annoying than not having the right tool to do the job you are trying to accomplish. Every once in a while I need to cut something using the old Milwaukee Sawzall and it drives me nuts when all my blades are shot or I don’t have the right one for what I’m trying to cut. These new 6 in. 7 TPI TORCH Nitrus Carbide Teeth Metal Cutting SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw Bladesfrom Milwaukee are phenomenal. They cut through angle iron like butter and I can only imagine how well they will work on cast iron or sewer pipe. Luckily I haven’t had any problems with sewer pipes lately since moving to my new house but should I have any this 3-pack of blades will be the first thing put to use. If you are trying to cut hard cast, soil pipe, stainless steel, thick metal or black pipe I would definitely use this type of blade first. They will cost you a little more but they will make up for it in how long they last and how well they cut. Lord knows I have been under the house multiple times over the years with a dull blade that will no longer cut and it’s miserable having to crawl back out just to change blades. With these new blades you won’t be having that problem.

Tough blades that are capable of getting through cast iron and thick metal quite easily. I used it on an older drain pipe that was buried and it did great. I also tried it on a couple nails that I needed to cut and they worked through them with ease. The carbide teeth are long lasting, showing little signs of wear after a couple major cut jobs. The value of the 3 pack is great for homeowners and contractors alike. Great for demo, plumbing or drainage projects where you need a tough blade.

This worked great for my needs. I used this on a piece of 2x, Nails, and an old pipe and it cut the job in all cases. I used the blade with two different recip saws and the blades got the job done with both. For my first task, I had to cut out a piece of 2x for a door, this worked as expected, it is a metal blade after all. Next I used this to cut some of pipes for plumbing that I know longer needed, no issues there. Lastly I used to demo some 2x with nails in them , no problems there.

This five-pack of 6 inch Milwaukee “Torch” reciprocating saw blades are exactly what you need to cut smaller diameter thick metal pipe. The blade has a one inch profile, carbide teeth (7 TPI – see picture), and that allows you to easily cut most any type of pipe under about 4 inches in diameter. Note that the actual cutting teeth are about 4.5 inches of the length of the blade (see picture). You insert the blade into the reciprocating saw after twisting open the ring that secures the blade (see picture), and you are ready to go! It is good to have a five-pack just in case you have a failure or want to switch to a new, cool blade if you heat up the one you are using (due to friction). I highly recommend this 6 inch blade five-pack!

These Milwaukee SAWZALL® TORCH™ with NITRUS CARBIDE™ Blades are New for March of 2020.These blades are designed for cutting Cast Iron, and other thick metals like Black Pipe, Angle Iron, and Rebar to name a few. They can take a beating without snapping or breaking like many of the foreign made blades. These blades are made right here in the USA in Milwaukee Tools Greenwood Mississippi plant (See Photo). They cut faster, and last longer than any blades I’ve ever used. The blade incorporates a universal 1/2 inch tang that will fit just about any reciprocal saw from the old saws that used set screws to hold the blade, to the newer quick release designs. I used this blade in my 25 year old Milwaukee Sawzall Reciprocating Saw without any problems. The tip of the blade is blunt, not pointed (See Photo). It will deflect off objects it hits, and not stab into them. It has 7 TPI (Tooth Per Inch) and is 9 inches in length, great for cutting out old cast iron sewer pipe. You need to have these blades available when you need them, so pick some up so you will have them in your tool box available right when you need them.Always wear a respirator mask when cutting cast iron. Cast iron dust is extremely dangerous when inhaled into your lungs.Once you use Milwaukee blades, you will wonder why you ever tried to save a few bucks on those cheaper blades.

I got these blades to cut out some old cast iron waste pipes from my basement. I was cutting 4″ inch pipe and it cut like butter. The carbide teeth on the blade worked phenomenally better than standard High Speed Steel (HSS) or M42 fine tooth Carbon Blades. No cutting fluids or oils required. I also used in on other ferrous metals such as black pipe just to see how it would cut and it cut through great using the same blade I used for the cast iron. They seem to be resilient and tough.

Had to cut through a cast iron sewer pipe that was backed up, so I wanted to cut through fast. Turds were flying everywhere for the 10 seconds it took the torch to make it through the 4 inch pipe twice, then slapped on a fernco. Worked great!

Very rugged, heavy duty blades. These are for the big time, like when you have to cut up a cast iron bath tub!The blades are 9 inches long and have 7 teeth per inch. What is striking is how thick the blades are – to provide strength and handle the heat generated while cutting. I was able to cut through some steel conduit very quickly with one.Five blades in the pack.Made in the USA
