Milwaukee does not design their batt powered equipment to be able to be upgraded to the latest battery design. Drills are designed to last but batteries do not making the overalls performance and enjoyment weak.

When I found these V18 Lithium-Ion’s at HD for $88.03 + tax to replace those for my Hammer Drill and Driver Combo that is about 8 years old, I jumped at the chance. The tools did not get used as much as a pro might but I have used them LOTS during remodeling and repairing two different houses. The original batteries have lost some umph, but still work o.k. which told me two new ones would be a good investment. I am now set for years more service instead of throwing away perfectly good tools. Thanks Milwaukee and Home Depot!

Milwaukee has discontinued the V-18 Lithium Ion battery but if you, like me, have a perfectly good V-18 tool, you will need these batteries. So I appreciate Home Depot making them available. However, these batteries have a problem in that if they fall below 3 V the charger doesn’t see them. So you need to keep them charged or press a 9 V battery to the contacts to lift the V-18 battery to where the charger will charge it. Another solution is to buy a V-18 compatible Milwaukee flashlight, use the flashlight occasionally and keep the V-18 batteries charged. Milwaukee figured you would be using these batteries on the job all week thus keeping the batteries charged. But if you don’t use the batteries very often you have to know about the above listed workarounds. This is why I rated this otherwise excellent battery down.

Buying this new battery allowes me to use my sawzall to cut conduit and unistrut again. All I could do before I purchased the battery was to drill or listen to the radio.

The battery was what I expected and not a sub standardforeign import

Works well after being charged. Thinking about buying another one for a backup.Gorilla

Quality lithium replacement battery for my Milwaukee impact wrench. While it is too early to tell how long the battery will last I am confident that it will perform significantly better and longer than the original ni-cad battery, which I had to replace twice.

Using w/ Jobsite Radio (49-24-0280)Unlike review written on 20 Sept 2011 by Preskitaz I have had NO problem using these V-18 3.0 Ah Li-ion batteries (48-11-1830) in my Job Site Radio – Powered by Rockford Fosgate (49-24-0280). Yes, the V-18s are larger in height – actually by 1/2″ rather than the 3/8″ that Preskitaz states. But they slide right in without a problem and the door latches. They run the radio longer too. They seem to take as long to charge. However, they run longer in my tools, hold their charge on the shelf longer (meaning slower to self-discharge), are quite a bit lighter (approx 25% – 29 vs 39 ounces) in weight, and I LOVE that they have a “fuel gauge” (charge status) on them!NOTE: The Milwaukee number I list is right off the bottom of my batteries. I believe the number (48-11-1803) HD put in the Product Title above is a typo. The last four digits should be -1830. They do show the correct number at the bottom of the Specifications Table under the Specs tab. If you have the older 2.4 Ah Milwaukee NiCad batteries (48-11-2230), be sure to replace them with these Li-ion batteries – they are GREAT!

These batteries have had some bad production runs, but the one I bought recently from HD was a good one for sure. A little spendy, but at least I know HD will back it up, unlike some internet vendors that are hard to deal with.

The battery does good but the casing is coming at part. Is breaking where slide in to the tool. I’ll fill a warranty to home depot or Milwaukee.

My husband really likes the battery operated Milwaukee tools. This is the first time we have had to purchase any replacement batteries so I am hoping these will last several years also.

The battery fit perfectly in my drill and although it was an old model, I was happy to get it!

Works well. I hope it stays good and charges up after a few years. Instead of going dead like the ones I previously owned
