I charged it up as the fuel guage was on 3. Ued it most the next day, off and on, drilling and used as nut driver. The batterty held up real good, end of the day it was one and still had the power it started with. I received the batterty in the Holidays of Christmas and New Years, e-mails kept me posted and received it much earler than I think I should have. Thanks.

Bought 2 of these to replace 2 older ones. I haven’t had much time to use them but I hope they are better than the originals that seemed to fail prematurely and would also trip out under load of the sawzall and circular saw.My only other option was to throw out a bag full of perfectly good tools or buy the old NiCads. The cost on these is way too high.

I receive the battery promptly and it was legitimate Milwaukee brand and wasn’t a China made knock off.

purchase the battery to replace secondary battery due to age of product, made use of the batteryto do repairs on a aging fence which needed replacement. The battery holds up on a averagelife of two years, then it time to replace again.

I did not get to use the battery although it supposed to fit all v18 tools it does not fit the old jobsite radios (powered by Rockford Fosgate) because the batteries are 3/8″ higher than the standard V18 NiCd battery packs. I currently use the M18 series tools & love the quality. the radio is the only “old” v18 tool I have left.

So far, compared to the NiCD, it seems to put out more power and last longer, and it’s much nicer. Considering Li ion can be made into any shape, it would have been nice if they duplicated the shape so it would fit in my case where the other battery did, but otherwise it seems like an improvement.

Switched to these when they stopped making the NiCad batteries. I haven’t noticed any practical difference. I have a half a dozen of these and used to have about half a dozen of the 28 volt. I have had to replace a few over the years but not any more than my Makita batteries. 3 AH is good enough for what I do with the tools. Drills last about a week of average use, Sawzall lasts maybe 15 minutes of continuous cutting but most of my cuts are done in 15 seconds or less. They seem to last about 3-4 years of abuse and dragging them under houses. They seem a little less susceptible to getting wet than my Makitas. I wish they still made the V28. Once my last couple batteries die I will have a bunch of useless tools. Since this review is for the V18 and not the V28 I am giving 5 stars.

So far the battery is performing as promised, however, I have only had it for 60 days. Holds charge as well as other lithium batteries I own (which is very good). The disappointing part of this transaction is that all lithium batteries use a different charging profile than older batteries and cannot be charged with the old style battery chargers so one would think that if Home Depot is selling the lithium battery they would also sell the battery chargers!! I found this to be very annoying on behalf of Home Depot.

I have only used the battery one time, but I could tell it has more power than my old Ni-Cads. However finding a the battery charger for these batteries was next to impossible. I feel if you are going to sell batteries you should also sell the charger that goes with them. And they do not work on the multi-voltage charger. It’s not fair for me to rate these yet because I have not really put them to the test, but Home Depot seems to want my review right now, so only 3 stars at this point. I will only recommend these batteries if you already have the charger. This is because the charger is obsolete. Good luck finding one.

my husbands old battery would no longer hold a charge, he is thrilled with this and is working on home repairs with gusto.
