The optimized combination of size and increased power provides a great solution for the entire range of M18 products. It delivers fade free power and runs substantially cooler through heavy applications, allowing tradesmen to push their cordless tools harder and longer than ever before. The M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT XC6.0 provides increased power in cold weather (below 0° F/minus 18° C) and delivers more work per charge, driving corded replacement on the jobsite. These two batteries were included in a purchase “deal” with two qualifying bare tools. They are a little heavy for certain tools and find myself selecting the right battery for the tool/task balancing weight and battery life. Overall, these two batteries offer me a great alternative for longer battery life.

I had older 3A batteries and these are a huge upgrade for battery life. I also wanted them for my M18 angle grinder which will go through a 5A battery rather quickly when cutting 3/16″ steel. They will make a drill considerably heavier, but in my opinion, the extra battery life is worth it. I did not notice any power increase from going to these batteries, just run time. I’m not saying there isn’t, but it wasn’t noticeable to me. The retail price for the 2 pack is a bit high, but if you can get them at the HD sale price, the upgrade is well worth it.My complaint is the packaging. Opening the product (or trying to) was a terrible experience. The blister pack was difficult and frustrating to open and I thought I was going to injure myself with the utility knife. Even though the quality of the batteries is high, shame on Milwaukee for making such a frustrating box opening experience for their customers.
