Many applications, such as running new home electrical wires through dimensional lumber, require the user to make clean holes so the wire will not get caught on debris or splinters. ok… this is the best home depot product i have ever bought from. it works perfectly., very fast, and that was what i was looking for.( fastness )….I’m very happy with the performance of the product. i have tried other similar bits from different brands and does not work as beautiful as this…Cons.they break in half if you are not careful while driving it.i think the steel which it is made of has no quality.

These are great when they are brand new but if you hit one nail with them they are ruined. I am an electrician and have gone through three sets in less than a year. In addition to the blades being killed by nails instantly the fluted section is too short for effective chip evacuation and the 1/4″ shanks bend very easily. Do yourself a favor and get the six bit triflute speedbor set by Irwin.

Fast drilling and clearing of wood scraps. Much easier and faster than wood boring style drill bits. With proper care these should last for many years, and I use them every day. Another one of Milwaukee’s must have tools.

After having used a variety of spade bits and hole saws, I picked up on this approach to boring holes.This so much faster and easier. I am hooked. If you are concerned with splintering, pull back slightly and slow up just prior to pushing through the other side of the board. I can’t believe Home Depot doesn’t stock this item on the shelf. These bits are worth the hassle of ordering on line though. I am fortunate in that we live close enough to a store to do a store pick up and avoid shipping.

I have only used the 1/2″ and 3/4″, but they do cut nice. Much better than the cheapie import set that I already had. My complaints are:1.) They come without a case, and I wrecked the plastic blister pack just getting it open. So I have to make or buy something that will hold them securely, keep them from banging around, and is small and flat enough to fit in a tool bag.2.) They are short. The crappy ones I already have are 18″ long. It means I have to use an extension for anything thicker than 6″ .
