Heavy-duty ship auger bits are for all types of construction. Precision machined for smooth, wobble free boring. Large, wide throat design gives excellent chip clearance from deep holes. Self feeding screw point, with one cutting edge and side lip for fast, rough boring in wood. Hardened cutting edges require less re-sharpening.
- Steel construction for strength
- Induction-hardened tip for added nail durability
- Coated flutes for fast chip removal
- Impact-rated shank

The 7/16 hex is over kill for my purposes but it servers its purpose

great drill bit. 7/16 hex shanks fits Quik-Lok chuck on Super Hawg drill. Goes through a 2×4 in about 1 second! Excellent!

Works fine , heavier shaft seems to hold up well from bending or breaking

This thing works so well I stopped half way thru my project to write this review!Having to drill thru about 30 floor joist to pull wire thru for an outdoor sauna, I started with an older spade bit and agonized over the first 2 for five minutes. Got this one and they literally drill themselves. No pressure needed, awkward spots no problem, takes less then 5 seconds to get thru a 2x.I highly recommend getting this bit!

I had to drill two 3/4″ holes through an EMCO storm door to mount the handle. The bit quickly drilled through the aluminum skin and the particle board. The holes were straight. The aluminum deformed badly, but it was barely thicker than foil. The shank fits a Milwaukee M18 1/2″ keyless chuck.

I have been using this auger bit in my new FUEL M-18 Hole Hawg, and I don’t even need to apply pressure on it to drill a perfect hole. This bit is strong and sharp, and literally cuts into the wood like butter (even with it full of nails). If you are in plumbing, HVAC or Electrical, this bit is going to save you a lot of time.

It’s for a 1/2” chuck drill since it’s not on the package

As an electrician, having a 7/8″ auger bit is necessary, the size of 1/2″ conduit. This seemed to be a good fit, and at a good price. Sadly, I have some problems getting auger bits over 7/8″ in the store, so maybe Home Depot should try and consider the sizes needed for plumbing and electrical installations, and have sizes at least through 1″ available IN the store (that means up to 1 3/8″

It was delivered when it was stated and did it’s job.
