This is a nice combination countersink and pilot drill bit. The bit can be replaced when broke or just wore out. It has a 1/4” hex end with a ball dent for the quick change systems. I used it on some oak wood and did a great job. The one I got is for #8 screws and in oak wood the screws went in with no issues and the screw head fit nicely and you can run it in if using plugs.

A GREAT TIME SAVER — The Milwaukee #8 Countersink with 11/64 in. High Speed Steel Drill Bit is a useful tool when working with wood. It both drills and countersinks holes in one step instead of two, thus saving time. This countersink has a tapered bit which makes starting the hole easier since the bit will not walk. It makes a clean hole with a perfect countersink. See photo. The depth of the hole can be adjusted by loosening the two hex set screws on the collar, moving the bit to the desired depth, and then tightening the two set screws. It is perfect for countersinking #8 screws. Milwaukee makes similar products for #6 and # 10 screws. All of the Milwaukee countersinks use the same collar so the maximum width of the countersink will be the same for all bits. The bits have a 1/4″ hex shank for making a quick change. The countersink is made is China.

Using Countersink bits are a must for any woodworker. You’re given the choice of counter-boring, or counter-sinking your screws with this bit.First off…It makes it rather difficult to make any adjustments to the Allen keyed set-screw when this bit didn’t come with an Allen wrench!!! Just about every Countersink bit out there comes with the proper Allen wrench. Somewhat disappointed with Milwaukee for not including this.Using this bit is very easy. You adjust the collar surrounding the bit to the desired depth, and tighten the set screw…That’s it.Overall, this is a really nice quality bit for both counter-sinking, and counter-boring in wood.Very Pleased with the quality Milwaukee consistently provides in their products.

These MILWAUKEE COUNTERSINK HIGH SPEED STEEL DRILL BIT are easy to use. The bits are very accurate. The bits are tapered so it makes it easy to place a screw into. The bits make it easy to choose how deep you want the countersink to be. The bit is replaceable if you happen to break it. The bits are strong and accurate. The bits make it easy to countersink a screw. This bit is a #8, 11/64 INCH size.

I’ve gotten to like drilling pilot and/or countersink holes any time I use screws. I’ve had a number of countersink drill bits over the years, most of which have had several broken bits. This Milwaukee #8 Countersink Drill Bit is the best, by far, with features not normally seen. It has a ¼ in. quick change hex shank designed for use in drill drivers. The drill bit itself is 11/64 in., but is tapered, just like a wood screw is. The countersink base has two 1/8 in. hex set screws to secure it to the drill bit. The countersink can be adjusted on the drill bit by simply loosening the set screws and sliding it out on the bit. I found it quite cool to find a flat machined on the bit to allow securing the countersink at 1 in. out on it, without damaging the cutting edge of the flutes of the bit. Nice! The flat can (sort of) be seen in one of the photos below. It’s a bit pricier than some others, but well worth it.

Wish I had gotten one of these a long time ago. The drill bit installs easily with it’s hex shank which also keeps the bit from shifting as you use it. The drill is high quality and has a 1/8″ Hex for adjusting the drill length so no drilling through to the good side. The drill bit is new so I would expect it to drill into the wood without effort and I was not surprised. The countersink made a clean cut for my wood screw. Great product. I can’t wait to have a real project to work on with this dandy.

I am hoping Home Depot will start carrying these at all their locations. Currently they are a test run I guess, I had to grab one because they were out of the dewalt ones. Low and behold… Far superior over the dewalt model. The dewalt ones always ALWAYS break where the hex bit attaches to the drill bit. I was able to use the milwaukee one until it actually got dull, instead of replacing due to breakage. First time I had this experience. Please stock these permanently Home Depot… from a professional cabinet installer. Thanks.

The addition of the countersink bit definitely saves time because no additional bit change is necessary. However, the tapered bit does appear to be a bit slower than a regular drill bit. The ability to adjust the countersink for depth is a good feature but it is necessary to really tighten up the screws holding the countersink in place super-tight otherwise it will be pushed along the drill. Overall this is a great addition to the toolkit that works well and saves time.

This product looked like it was a perfect tool for pre-drilling and countersinking screw holes. A like item, but different size had the 1/4″ hex shank break off on 1st use. However, this one performed as expected. Its a Milwaukee #8 countersink with a 11/64″ drill bit. The bit length is adjustable to allow for good depth control. I really like the design or concept but the 1/4″ quick change hex shank may not hold up under normal use. And if it breaks off or breaks loose it will be unusable for the expected result.

I bought a couple different brands this year and both of the other brands had a wobble. The Milwaukee runs true and straight.excellent product, but then again i expect nothing less from Millie

#8 Countersink / Drill Bit, 11/64″. High speed steel drill bit. Has an adjustible countersink to set drill tip depth. The countersink is tightened by two allen wrench screws. The 1/8th in. allen wrench is NOT included with the drill bit. If you buy a set of these drill bits, the allen wrench is usually included. Since the drill bit is tapered, the clearance hole diameter will vary with the bit depth so I’d recommend drilling a test hole before using it on your project. When tightening the countersink, go back and forth between the two screws to keep the countersink centered. In use, there is a slight wobble of the end of the bit, but does not seem to affect the accuracy of the hole.

If you want a nice finish, use these countersink drills! Get the size that matches the screws you will be using, so use this #8 countersink for #8 size screws.Instead of pre-drilling and then also using a countersink to make room for the screwhead, do both in a single action. It makes a perfect size countersink for the screw. The drill bit is also tapered, leaving a hold that the screw can grip onto along its whole length. It allows you to adjust the depth of the tapered drill bit by sliding the countersink part down the drill bit and tightening it in place. Adjusting this needs a ⅛” allen wrench (not provided). The adjustment is solid and there are tightening grubs on both sides.Note however, that since the drill bit is tapered, the adjustment of the length is limited to where the tightening screws can reach the bit shaft without harming the sharp edges. The shortest I felt was safe to go to was 1-¾” inches. See picture. The driving end is a standard ¼” hexagonal drive allowing quick changes if you need to use the same drill for drilling and screwing. I find that hand screwing works just as easily once countersunk.Overall length is about 4”The size (11/64”) is laser etched on the shanks for quick identification. Nice.Made in China

This is a great countersink bit. I have bought 4 of them now. Only complaint I have is that the drill bit breaks rather easily if you don’t have it completely straight.
