The Milwaukee ship auger bits have a new through center cutting design for improved life in nail-embedded wood. The flutes are coated, which produces a non-stick surface for fast and smooth chip ejection, especially in deep holes. The shanks are also impact rated for added durability and versatility no matter the trade. Ideal for electricians, plumbers, utilities and any trade requiring fast hole drilling in clean or nail-embedded wood.
- Steel construction for strength
- Nail-cutting tip provides durability
- Precision machined for smooth, wobble-free boring
- 18 in. bit length
- Impact-rated shank

I purchased this drill bit to use with my hammer drill and it definitely does the trick. I drilled through a solid oak tree stump with relative ease and no issues whatsoever. I’m glad I went with the Milwaukee name brand as I’m certain this will last me for years to come.Highly recommended for any serious wood drilling tasks!

Works great only if you’re using an electric drill! Battery drill could not do the job through timber

Bought this auger bit to drill holes in a 4 four foot diameter fir tree stump. I drilled over 30 holes in hour or two. The bit worked very well. Placed rock salt in the holes to make the stump decay quicker. Hopefully it will be mush in a year or two.

This drill bit worked excellent. I needed to drill through a 10 x 10 oak beam and once it caught the oak fibers it pulled itself through the beam quickly. I did use a high torque drill with handles but the bit cut through with ease. Nice and sharp.

It lived up to my expectations, I would recommend it.

Must use a least a 10amp drill.

Great bit, sharp and cuts through without any worries

Before I purchased these I used the Klein version. The Klein version would not drill out an entire 2000 square foot home. I have been using these and have managed to drill about 4500 square feet and the bit is still going strong.

This bit does an excellent job. You’ll need a 5/8 drill or bigger to turn it.

I used this auger bit today on a deck I’m building. I was drilling through three 2×12’s and a 4×4 post to install 5/8″ carriage bolts. It cut through like butter and expelled all the shavings as it progressed. I didn’t hit any nails, so I can’t comment on it’s ability (as advertised) to deal with such, but it sure went through wet pressure treated lumber with ease. I got this drill to replace augers made by Bosch that I also purchased at Home Depot. A word of caution, the Bosch augers are so aggressive that they bore too deep too quickly and end up binding. In my case it caused the bit to stop and swung the body of the drill around nearly breaking my hand. I’m not a little guy and was using both handles on the 1/2 drill, still, I just couldn’t stop it. The Bosch augers are dangerous and I threw both of mine in the trash. This Milwaukee auger worked like a dream.
