As an Electrical Contractor they seem to be the best bargin, from what we have used in the past they hold up real good

Bought this auger bit to drill holes in a 4 four foot diameter fir tree stump. I drilled over 30 holes in hour or two. The bit worked very well. Placed rock salt in the holes to make the stump decay quicker. Hopefully it will be mush in a year or two.

I used this auger bit today on a deck I’m building. I was drilling through three 2×12’s and a 4×4 post to install 5/8″ carriage bolts. It cut through like butter and expelled all the shavings as it progressed. I didn’t hit any nails, so I can’t comment on it’s ability (as advertised) to deal with such, but it sure went through wet pressure treated lumber with ease. I got this drill to replace augers made by Bosch that I also purchased at Home Depot. A word of caution, the Bosch augers are so aggressive that they bore too deep too quickly and end up binding. In my case it caused the bit to stop and swung the body of the drill around nearly breaking my hand. I’m not a little guy and was using both handles on the 1/2 drill, still, I just couldn’t stop it. The Bosch augers are dangerous and I threw both of mine in the trash. This Milwaukee auger worked like a dream.

Solid,well-made. But….The actual diameter of the tool is 7/8″. I’ll be able to use it for something, but not for what I obtained it in order to do. Internet is great for findinga tremendous variety of stuff, but it’s too bad that vendors don’t compileall of the pertinent data accurately. Of course,if the product supplied bya manufacturer comes to the vendor labeled misleadingly in a sealedpackage, whose fault is it? Is there a convention re augers as there isin the case of lumber dimensions, for instance, wherein a 2×4 is actuallysmaller in both the dimensions of its cross section? It doesn’t seem so.But maybe each different manufacturer uses its own proprietaryconvention? It’s too bad that even tools are such (as are shoes) thatit really is best to see or measure them (try them on) in person.

I purchased this drill bit to use with my hammer drill and it definitely does the trick. I drilled through a solid oak tree stump with relative ease and no issues whatsoever. I’m glad I went with the Milwaukee name brand as I’m certain this will last me for years to come.Highly recommended for any serious wood drilling tasks!

The best ship auger bits I have found. Drilled hundreds of holes through double railroad ties to drive rebar fasteners. No binds no need to back out and clean the bits. Far superior to Diablo or Bosch. I think it is the higher rate of twist that cleans the shavings as you drill.

This bit goes through a hard CCA pole like butter with impact driver. Far better than Greenlee.
