The Shockwave Lineman’s Impact Auger Bits are engineered to deliver cleaner, faster holes in wooden utility poles. They feature a single spur design, which scores the edge of the hole, creating a cleaner finish that allows bolts to slide through without resistance. The bits are coated with a reinforced anti-friction PTFE coating for overall smoother drilling and easier removal of the bit from the pole. The aggressive feed screw and cutting edge pull the bit through the material while the optimized wide flute geometry quickly ejects the chips to clear the hole and reduce clogs, leading to overall faster drilling speeds.

The bit was worth it. I received it timely and will use the web cite again.

Best drill bit I’ve ever owned. Works amazingly well. A must for any lineman

Drill bit exceeded expectations. Works just as good as shown in videos.

i drilled through an 8″ pylon with a 2″x6″ on each side in 10 seconds with my 7/16 impact wrench. Also the whole was super clean

This thing is bad to the bone. I put it on a Dewalt DCF898b 20v 7/16” impact and I can drill holes through 12-inch to 14-inch telephone poles in literally 8 to 10 seconds. I’ve drilled over 40 holes on a pole transfer job and the bit shows no sign of dulling.

I have this and a 5/8th version as well. I used the smaller one to make a hole for an outside outlet. Hole as clean and it went through like butter. There is a specific chuck that Milwaukee sells to use for these bit types but it will work just fine in a regular drill. The coating the bit aids in drilling and reduces friction. One other feature I found useful is the starting tip on the end of the bit. It keeps the bit from walking and secure the beginning of drill hole.

I got this bit to use for drilling through studs for electrical wire runs. The length is long enough to reach through to spaces that are too far away for most bits which is helpful, but also long enough that it doesn’t fit between 16″ O.C. studs. (Especially with the drill attached.) It is quite tough and can handle use with an impact drill. It is very aggressive in use, however, and the pilot auger pulls it into wood rapidly enough that it sometimes splits the stud. The bit can’t always cut at the rate that it is pulled into the wood. I’m keeping this with my drilling tools but I only use it when I need a long reach and the wood is heavy enough to not be damaged by the bit’s aggressive behavior.
