Milwaukee’s one piece carbide tipped core bits are ideal for drilling large holes in brick, block, and concrete. The asymmetric tooth pitch with alternating tooth geometries for up to 20% faster drilling speeds. The one piece design maximizes energy transfer and the thick wall core body is durable in large hammers. The fluted core exterior minimizes friction loss and removes debris faster. Core bit cut with the outer cutting edge only. The inside core must be removed to allow for deeper hole drilling applications beyond 3″. Centering bit 48-20-5495 (included) is recommended for exact spot drilling and to avoid bit wandering during use. The drift key 48-20-5497 (not included) allows for easy removal of the centering bit. The one piece core bits are available in SDS-Max or Spline shanks, ranging from 1-1/2” to 6” diameters and overall lengths of 11-3/8” or 22”, with a drilling depth of 3”.
- Drift key (48-20-5497) sold separately for easy centering bit removal
- Ideal for brick, block, and concrete applications
- Centering tip to reduce bit walking and create exact spot drilling
- Drilling depth of 3″
- Designed for SDS Max rotary hammers
- Asymmetrical and Alternating Teeth for up to 20% faster drilling speeds
- Thick-Wall Core Body for Durability Even in Large Hammers
- Includes centering bit (48-20-5495) to allow exact spot drilling and reduce bit walking

Milwaukee makes great tools! The bit did what I expected, if and when I need a different size core bit I will add another Milwaukee core bit to my tool box.

This 2-5/8 IN. X 11-3/8 IN. SDS-MAX CORE BIT worked flawlessly for the application I used this on. As a professional contractor there are many different situations we come across. We used this core bit to drill through a concrete slab on grade. The problem was voids under slab were perfect homes for chipmunks so we drilled around the perimeter every 24inches then poured precision grout until filled. Bye bye chipmunks.

wish it could cut Rebar….

The center bit loosens up and there is no way of securing it, this renders the whole bit useless.

Absolutely love this bit!

Cut a clean hole. I have an off brand roto hammer and it was able to get through easy and straight. I cut a hole for 1 1/2″ iron pipe through a footing 8″ thick. It looks ready to drill another, shesaid.I would recommend this tool and home depot was the only place on a Sunday that was open.

Anyone that uses rotary hammers professionally knows that when it comes to bits, you want German-made, as this high-quality Milwaukee product is. As I do almost exclusively residential work, a rotary hammer is not a primary tool for me. When it comes to core bits, I prefer these one-piece units, for their ease of use. Unit comes fully assembled, ready to be put to work. The unit is 11-3/8″ in length to the tips of the carbide cutters, and with a cutting depth of 3″.Note – this bit is for use in SDS-Max units only (at least without an adapter). Rotary hammers can come with one of a variety of different chuck configurations, so be sure that SDS-Max-shanked bits are what yours utilizes. SDS-Plus shank looks extremely similar, but they are not interchangeable.

It worked well for the job I had to do!I drilled two holes in a foundation.I wish I had bought a longer bit the way they described the length is the overall length not the depth it will drill.
