What a tape. This is without a doubt the widest, strongest and stiffest tape that I have in my toolbox. They are not exaggerating about the 14 ft standout. I had just completed rebuilding a deck for a customer the day that it arrived. I spent a lot of time trying to measure each board with my old tape. The customer wanted them cut flush and each one had to be measured because the frame was out of square. This tape would have saved me a lot of time. Look at my attached pictures and they show the difference in my older tape and this one.

Milwaukee means quality and this tape is no exception. This tape has a strong return spring for positive reeling and a double sided tang for measuring with either side of the rule. The tape also has printed graduations in SAE and Metric on both sides of the tape, this makes for measuring on curves very easy. The tape has a extra wide blade and a good weight to it. The case has a no slip feel to it and it has an opening on the bottom side for slowing and stopping the retraction with your finger. The tape has a very positive blade locking mechanism. The tape comes with an opening for a lanyard to tie it off for safety and a belt clip. My only complaint would be that the SAE measurements are smaller than the Metric, not harder to read just smaller. This is an excellent quality tape measure for the money.

Great Useable Design and Application! It’s as if Milwaukee asked what contractors and handymen/women needed in their tape measure before releasing this. They designed a gap on the bottom so you can hold the tape with your finger and no need to lock it in, it has measurement marks on both sides so you can accurately measure form the top of the bottom. It can be attached to an edge from both too and bottom as well and the best part of all is that you get both metric and inches. Whether you are a contractor or do work around the house, you won’t be disappointed with this purchase.

Finally found a Measuring Tape with a REACH. The 1.3 inch wide Blade reaches out and does not bend, making it much more functional for a single person attempting to measure a reasonable distance. And, the yellow tape with black numbering makes accurate reading a reality. Also, the Tape’s housing material provides a solid grip, which enables sure handling of the Product. Definite recommendation.

I love that this tape is both metric and standard. I use and need to know both and having one tape to do both means I don’t have to carry two tapes. This is a very solid made tape measure. It has some added rubber, which aids grip and adds some additional protection. The clip is strong and sturdy, hold it safely in place until you need it. I like the finger stop on the bottom. It helps me control retraction speed and makes it easier to make adjustments while making measurements. The lock it firm and secure, but easy to use too. The first six inches of the tape has an extra piece of lamination to add additional strength and protection. The bottom side has the handy “Architectural Scale”. I love the “Wide Blade”. The numbers and lines are sharp and clear. I have several Milwaukee tapes and have used them for years with great satisfaction and no issues. That red and white looks good too.

This Milwaukee blade taper measure is more than I expected. First of all, there are measurement markings on both sided of the tape – my first experience with that. Also, both inches and cm, which is convenient from time to time. There is also a plastic protector on the bottom of the tape along the first 6 inches – you know – the area that gets the most use and is the first place to lose the paint. I tried the standout and this tape is plenty ridgid. All in all, a good product.
