Sturdy, quality tape with many well thought out, well built features. So many little things went into this tape it really speaks to the time and effort put into its engineering. The units are 1/16″ on the English units and 1mm on the metric scale. The units can be read on both sides of the tape, which I really like and can’t say I’ve noticed before on auto-retracting tapes The tape feels good in the hand, substantive and comfortable. The tip is reinforced with 4 rivets and a nice metal backing plate. My best older tapes had only 3 rivets and no backing plates.. The reinforcing plastic was a bit over 6″ on the back, a full 3″ longer than my best older tape. The tape reels itself in nicely without wild, out of control whipping action. I had to check how well it performed on the standout and 12′ is really its limit. At 10′ it’s still pretty solid, but from 11′ on, you can tell it’s about to collapse, which it did right on cue at 12′. Of course, it curved so much any measurement would have been pretty suspect. This performance on the standout test is very similar to other quality tapes over 1″ wide, so the other features of this tool are what really sets it apart. It was stiff enough on the standout for any length I’d reasonably expect and felt really solid on any length less than 10′. I really liked the easily read external marking of the tape measure body width, which is 3.25″. To check it out, I locked the tape at 2.75″, placed it in an inside corner and measured to the tip, finding an exact 6″ (see pic). The hook was wide, but not overly large. It worked really well on framing jobs and more precision work. The hook worked well grabbing on outside corners well and still accurate on inside corners. The hook also grabbed nails well for scribing circle marksWe’re really happy with this tape and definitely recommend it

This is a heavy duty built 26 feet long tap measure for both DIYer’s and Professional use. The first six inches of the tap has a nylon strip to add strength and support. The tap is divided into both inches, feet and metric sizes. Tap has both sides showing the same inches, feet and metric sizes. This would be awesome gift for that DIYer’s and Professional. The Milwaukee tap measure comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

This tape was a surprise! Way better than I expected. Useful for many measuring tasks. It extends out unsupported as described in its text. It is clearly and cleanly marked both in MM and Inches with appropriate sub divisions. The “T” catch at the end is large for catching the ends of boards on both sides of the take It bends easily and you can read the measurements when you do so. There are many useful “tricks” on using this tape, but my photo’s did not all come through as I wanted. If you flip the tape over when scribing a line the tape will stay fixed when you have the end at the edge of the board so you can safely draw a line with the tape upside down. There is much more and I would VERY HIGHLY recommend this tool to my friends in my trade.for OTJ use. Sadly I could not upload a video using the tape extended out for marking with one hand free.

Great tape measure with both inches and millimeters marked on both sides of the blade and it doesn’t droop when measuring long spans thanks to the 12’ standout.A few years ago Home Depot had an own brand 16’ tape measure that was delineated in inches and millimeters. Having grown up in Europe, I always preferred measurements in metric meters, centimeters and millimeters and this Home Depot tape was really easy for me to use. Unfortunately Home Depot stopped selling them and I have been hunting around for an alternative now that my trusty Home Depot tape measures have worn out. After much searching I was very pleased to find this new 26’ tape measure from Milwaukee for a few reasons:1. The 1” wide blade is marked in inches and millimeters on BOTH sides of the tape measure blade. I have lost count of the times when I have wished that the markings were also on in the underside of the tape blade!2. The first 12’ of the tape blade are ‘hardened’ which basically means that it won’t flop around when you’re trying to measure a long span (such as the one between rafters on a porch roof). I really struggled with this issue with my old tape measure when I was building a porch/carport on our home recently and I wish I’d had this Milwaukee tape measure for that project.3. The first 6” of the underside of the tape measure blade have a clear protective coating to prevent the markings from wearing off. I have used my other tape measures so much that the markings have worn off at the very end of the tape and this is a very thoughtful feature.4. The ‘keeper’ that helps the end of the tape hook on to edges has three substantial rivets. I have had keepers fall off due to poor quality rivets and that has rendered the other tape measures useless as the tape blade then disappears inside the shell.Like most other tape measures, it has a rubberized shell to help protect it against damage from the inevitable drops. There is a built in metal belt clip and also a plastic pin that allows it to be attached to a lanyard. It also has a plastic blade lock that helps keep the blade locked at a particular length. Each 12” increment is marked in red on the blade as is each 10 centimeter increment. The blade also has diamond markings every 16” to help when laying out stud walls on 16” centers. At 26’ long, it weighs a little more than my other 16’ tape measures however if you need a sturdy tape measure that will last, this seems to be the one.

This Milwaukee 8 m / 26 ft. x 1.2 inch compact wide blade tape measure is a high quality tool you expect from one of the top tool makers. This tape measure has both inches and millimeters on both sides. The wide blade will stand out an amazing 12 feet which makes it great when working alone. Its handy to have a tape measure that has millimeters because I have found some products that give instructions in metric. The end of the tape measure has a large tape hook which works for both sides of the tape. It is nice to have both sides marked for easy measurement. The tape lock also works well and locks firmly. The first 6 inches of blade has an anti tear coating. The housing is ABS plastic and should last for years. At 26 feet this is a great size tape measure to have in your tool box and it has been well thought out and designed to last in the construction environment.

The Milwaukee 5 m/16 ft. x 1.2 in. Compact Wide Blade Tape Measure with 12 ft. “Standout” is a very good quality tape measure. The product arrived very well packaged and undamaged. The “wide body” of the product fits my hand much better than a thin style one. At the 12 foot “standout” range-the tape tends to “break” fairly quickly. It is a bit more “ridged” at the 10 foot “standout” though-this aspect of the product does not really concern me though. The tape is also equipped with a sturdy belt clip as well. I will add this tape measure to my tool kit that I throw in the back of my car when I go do handyman chores for friends and family. This is not the only Milwaukee product I have in my tool collection-I really like the quality of a good Milwaukee tool.

I believe this Milwaukee 16 foot compact wide blade tape measure is going to be my favorite tape measure. I do a lot of projects by myself-and many times fight to reach out and get a measurement- but this 12 foot standout really works. Also it is numbered on both the front and back sides- thus I can get a measurement from either side- not having to turn the tape over some times. It is the right size and weight. Also it is marked in inches and centimeters.

It’s my go to tape. Great size, fits my hand perfectly and has plenty stand out. Having a metric tape for laying out projects is a no brainer.

This tape as an excellent length and is both marked in inches and cm.The tape is printed on both sides too.The curve on the tape allows it to stand out for a considerable 12’ distance. The lock mechanism holds it ok. Hopefully the locking mechanism does not wear out. The case is 2¾” long (70mm) so measuring internal dimensions is pretty easy in metric.Every 12” is marked with two triangles.Every 16” is marked with a diamond, these are the typical distances between wall studs.Every 4’ is marked with 3 triangles.Every 10cm is marked in red. There is a place to tether the tape as well as a solid belt clip.It seems slightly more compact than an earlier 16’ model (see pic).Limited lifetime warranty.Made in China. (Engineered by Milwaukee tool)

Unfortunately I destroy tape measures! Either I drop them, cut them or they bind. I generally have at least three in my truck because I destroyed them. This tape measure is completely different! The blade protection is really strong and should add extra life to this tape measure. Because it is only 16’ it is lightweight but strong case. The case has rubber around it and if you drop it the case doesn’t come apart but bounces! I know as I dropped it the first day thinking there goes another tape but no it works great and didn’t fly apart! On the beginning of the tape measure it has extra blade protection! Belt clip is very strong and holds firmly! Overall excellent item! Very impressive!

This is the kind of quality product you expect from Milwaukee. The tape measure is not heavy, is built in such as way as to handle inevitable drops, and it has measurements on both sides of the tape. There is a protective coating on the first part of the tape. The tape itself is slight curved meaning when you are working by yourself and taking a measurement, you need only tilt the tape slightly to have it show and touch your materials so a mark can be made with a pencil. The tape goes back in easily, there is a carrying hook on the outside of the tape so it may be removed from a tool belt quickly, and replaced just as quickly and easily; the hook is magnetic. Red is an easy color to spot. The length of the tape is right on the casing. Each side of the tape has English (inches, feet) and metric measurements. There is a finger stop button on the bottom of the tape to save a finger when the tape rewinds. The tape measure fits easily in one hand, and the tape feels well-balanced. Affordably priced with a limited lifetime guarantee, I think the tape surface will remain legible after many years of use. My prior Milwaukee tape was my father’s; it had to be close to 40 years old and was getting hard to read so I knew I needed to get another tape measure. I did not want junk so I went Milwaukee. I recommend this product for the homeowner or professional.
