   I have the previous generation of this utility knife, and still use it. I thought it was the same when I picked it up at Home Depot. After I brought it home and compared it, I noticed it was a bit different. It’s a little shorter, and the blade sliding button did not slide as well as the old model.

   The Milwaukee slide out utility knife is a very stylish easy to use knife. I love the fact that you can lock into place the blade and whatever depth you want it to be. It comes with an easily accessible blade storage that flips open for easy access. Super easy to change out the blades. This is a tool I have already used a number of times and its performed like a champion. I am very happy with this purchase. Milwaukee tools are always top notch in my opinion so this unit gets Pauls Top grade of APlus! I plan to explore and see what other tools like this they might have. You cant go wrong with Milwaukee tools overall.

    CUTS WELL; COMFORTABLE to HOLD; NOT EASY to USE — Although the Milwaukee Slide-Out Utility Knife cuts well, it is not as easy to adjust as other retractable utility knives that I have used. There are no instructions on how to change the blade. After asking others for suggestions of which none worked, I discovered the secret. You need to push the black blade advance beyond where it normally stops all the way to the raised red lip. Then it is easy to change the blade. But then, it is not easy to depress the blade advance to retract the blade. In making the blade difficult to advance accidentally beyond the set position, that has also made the knife more difficult to use. The knife is comfortable to hold. It has a lanyard hole which can be used to hang the knife perpendicular to the wall. It has blade storage for five blades but no blades are included. The knife which is made in China has a lifetime warranty.

    The Milwaukee Slide-Out Utility Knife w/Blade Storage is a great knife to have around in the garage for use of cutting up cardboard or like materials for the recycling bin, or for keeping in the kitchen to open packages. The knife has side slide technology that prevents accidental blade retraction. It has a lanyard hole to attach a cord for easy carrying or hanging just where you need it. The knife has an overmold grip which fits very comfortably in your hand. Another great feature of this knife is the Quick Change, Tool Free Blade Change Button, which allows you, by simply pushing the button and holding it in, the removal of the blade, and reinsertion of a new blade, or rotating the blade, without having to take the knife apart. The housing also stores five (5) spare blades. The knife comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The knife is made in China. I’m very satisfied with Milwaukee Tools and their knives.
